"I am giving Wings Etc another chance. Today I had "The Baron" chicken sandwich (extra buffalo sauce) with curly fries and an iced tea. The sandwich was dry, the tea was warm, the fries were curly. It was better than last time. Our waitress was charming, and everyone else seemed to enjoy their food very much."

The only thing was the food was a very salty. I would say go without the extra seasoning they put on top."

"I didn't expect to be giving a 5-star review to a sports bar, but this place was sooo much more than I expected. If you want regular old, mediocre bar food and average service, this isn't your place. If you're looking for BETTER, though...BETTER service, BETTER atmosphere, and BETTER food, you need to forget those other places and come here!!We went on Sunday and I was pretty excited to see they had a brunch menu, and bottomless Bloody Mary's and mimosas until 2pm! The Bloody Mary's were awesome with the right amount of spice. The brunch menu had some great looking options, but we were drawn to the main/regular menu. We had the bacon torpedos to start. They're stuffed with a candied jalapeño cream cheese, wrapped in bacon, and served with HONEY!! The bacon needed to be just a bit crispier, but the flavors were so amazing, I didn't even really care. The cream cheese had such a fantastic flavor from the candied jalapeño and the honey on the side was the perfect compliment to the spicy jalapeño. We also had some spicy garlic traditional wings, which were perfectly cooked and really nice and crispy! None of that stringy skin I'm used to getting at a lot of other places. And the sauce was fantastic!My husband had the black and blue burger, which he loved. And the beer battered fries?? Where do I begin?? They were perfectly cooked and crispy. I was expecting a thick "batter", but these were super lightly coated and the batter gave them a flavor all their own. Absolutely delicious. I'd go back for the fries alone. I had a personal pizza, the Nate's Loco, and had them substitute carnitas for the chicken. The crust was a bit disappointing (maybe a pre-made?) but the toppings were a delicious combination. I'd try it on the larger crust next time. Our server was also amazing!! Super attentive and took great care of us. We are already talking about when to go back. And I can't wait til they open the Grain Valley location!!"

"I came in Saturday July 2, 2022, and it was oddly slow in there (maybe being so close to July 4). First time ever there, and they have a jukebox (AMI). I work Saturdays until 4:30p, so it as such a nice place to chill and wind down. I'm always excited to play music. Anyway, I got 2 Margaritas, and some kind of pulled pork quesadilla that was bomb. We started with a different bar tender, and then had a slender blonde bartender later who helped me pick my dinner. My only one qualm is that k would have loved to have seen other hard cider options. No worries though. The fights were on the TVs, and as it was time for me to head out, it looked like the regulars started pouring in. I'll be back for sure. I'm looking forward to coming back in a cooler night, so I can enjoy the patio potentially. Talked to a bartender for awhile who was originally from Dayton, OH. Nice to talk to someone back east since I'm from NY. Thanks for the good service."

Appetizer came out quickly but the rest of the meal seemed to take a while. They weren't overly busy and the staff seemed to be hanging around in enough numbers that I didn't see a lack of help. Food was okay but nothing to "write home about." It's what you would consider typical bar food. I haven't tried the wings yet, but my chicken and pickle sandwich was okay if a little dry. My daughter enjoyed the Mac n cheese. May come again with friends but probably won't seek it out again on our own. Initial gaming tokens were complimentary but additional tokens were quite expensive. We greeted the young man working and could barely hear his response.Now let's talk further, he sounded like he was either tired or high. It's later in the evening so the former is highly possible. I am hoping the wings are wonderful. Because one of the flavors we wanted from the menu no longer exists. Word to the wise, if you want Parm Peppercorn, you won't get it. Fries are also outstanding and perfectly crisp. House ranch is solid too!Final VerdictAmazing wings and sides. I haven't had any better in the city (and I think I'm a wings connoisseur). They also have a full bar if you'd like something other than beer. They have a traditional bar food menu. My friends and I ordered the cheese curds, towanda wings, tater tots, chicken tenders, classic sliders and a classic burger. Food was good, I did not try the wings as I wasn't too sure about the sauce being spicy or not. I do. ot handle spice well. But the rest of the food was good. "If I could give more than five stars I would. Highly recommend Chicken Mary's. Cannot recommend enough! Hands-down, one of the best places/service I have ever received at a restaurant.From the moment I walked in, I was met with great hospitality from the hostess who immediately seated me and told me about my server. The place has original location charm written all over it! Within a matter of minutes, my server, Keesha, came over with a trainee server, Natasa. I asked for recommendations and was given them with thoroughness and kindness. Per Keesha's recommendations, I ended up ordering a sweet tea, small onion rings, two dark meat chicken thighs, one dark meat chicken leg, the German potato salad, German slaw, and mashed potatoes and gravy. Now if you're thinking, this is a lot of food you are correct. I obviously took some home (and it reheated well in the air fryer). Hands-down, the chicken thighs were the best chicken I've had in my life. Wonderful mix of flavor and crunch, so tender it was nearly falling off the bone. Masterful flavor. The German potato salad was a different consistency than I've seen, but the flavor was out of this world and so was the German slaw. It's nice and refreshing to see something like that on the menu that you don't see just anywhere. The ranch is homemade too! I was too full for dessert, but I would've stuck around and had some of that if not. Keesha and Natasa were so kind throughout the whole meal. We had conversation, they comforted me when I was having a moment, and I received a big hug. They are truly people with big hearts who care.I cannot stress enough to try chicken Mary's. If you have not, add it to your list and make the trip. It is worth it and you will not regret it. Please go see Keesha and Natasa and give kudos to the young chef in the kitchen as well!"

My husband and I made a stop at the Prairie Nut Hut one afternoon while in town visiting family. I ordered a basket that came with mountain oysters, frog legs and fries. The food was plenty. Personally, the mountain oysters had too much breading for my liking. Prairie Nut Hut is a small hole-in-the-wall place. You will find peanuts on tables, shells on the floor and a few locals having a drink after work. Service was top notch and the prices were decent. If you are in the area, stop by and support local."

"Listen up KC locals and visitors! I'm and out of town visitor staying at the Westin Crown Center I came across this restaurant as "Hot and New". First off, I always like to support new and up and coming food establishments, especially black owned businesses. Initially I wanted to Door Dash but being that they were just getting established, they were still awaiting their partnership with them. So I decided to get out of the comfort of my four walls and I am so glad I did! In my profession I travel quite a bit and visit many cities throughout North America and make every effort to dine at majority mom and pop restaurants. My home town is the entertainment and dinning capital of the US (Vegas Baby) so I can distinguish a bad vs a superb restaurant. There is one thing restaurants simply don't understand, you can have the most aesthetically pleasing ambiance, pricing structured to city that it is within, you can have good food, whatever, but being passionate about the food you serve with a friendly demeanor towards your patrons, with a serving of mmmmm good lawd.....you will have a continuity of success! This restaurant has all of the mentioned elements within their establishment. I visit KC every year and all of my experiences have been sub par and not enough for me to visit them twice. This will now always be a staple to visit whenever I am in town. Let me emphasize that if you like catfish you will LOVE theirs! My pasta dish probably had 10 scallops and a heaping amount of shrimp. Kuddos to the Chef and the entire team! Sorry for the long post, you simply cannot abbreviate what is being served! Midwest charm with impeccable service, vibes, and Fantastic Food!
