"I'm super impressed by this restaurant. I'm from Houston and we have lots of great Cajun food being so close to Louisiana. I have to say, the food was just as good as I could get in my neck of the woods. Even though they were super busy service was great. There is lots of interesting things to look at throughout the restaurant. I would definitely eat here again."
"First time eating here. I was actually quite impressed. Arrived around 5:30, so it was already getting dark. The place literally looked like a hole in the wall from the outside. We were immediately greeted upon entering and seated. Server came right away and took our drink orders. Ordered some hush puppies for an appetizer, which I didn't realize came with a meal when you ordered it. My mom and I ordered the large shrimp platter, which was 1# of shrimp. It was DELICIOUS and tasty with lots of flavor! I would highly recommend it! We also ordered the chocolate chip cookie sundae for dessert. It wasn't exactly what I was expecting. The cookie was rather dry even with the ice cream on top of it. The strawberry cake was just okay, nothing really to brag about. The service was good and she kept our ice tea filled up for the most part. She had a bubbly personality as well. I would recommend this place. Don't always judge a place by the way the outside looks! We happen to be there on a night Santa and Mrs. Claus was visiting."

"We stopped in here on a Friday night, and they had amazing artist playing live music during our dinner. We love to get their hush puppies and beignets They have a nice selection of all your Louisiana favorites. The service here is good, and they are always really helpful."
"It was fun restaurant to try out unfortunately we didn't expect our food to take an entire hour to cook. We were told that the owner/chef cooks everything to order which would amount to the time we arrived at 7:30pm got food at 8:30pm. Everything else was self serve on soda/water, paper products and ketchup. They have 4 ordering/paying machines like McDonalds. Menu prices were good, fish dinner w/2 sides for $16. Children dinners for $5. Desserts for $5-$8. Wanted to the red beans and rice but not for $15 an order. No liquor license yet but others brought their own liquor in to drink. No band playing tonight had a small setup in corner. Mixture of tables and table/booths, 4 large TV's on wall, & small room in back. Very clean. Would go back if we ordered in advance."
"Last night my friends spoiled me at an eatery in Independence I didn't know existed there. Certainly not "new" to any of them of course lol.. since they've proudly been there Several times due to how Good it is! I couldn't agree more! The customer service was excellent! Destiny was our waitress last night and she was nothing BUT amazing to us and made sure we were comfortable, well aware of our meal options, and taken care of! ^_^ My first experience there is one I'll cherish forever! The quality of food was just ridiculous In every Great way possible. I'm also glad I opted mild spice instead of going Spicy like I usually do with this style cuisine, but I'm definitely gonna go Much spicier next time since I know it's gonna be incredible. The restaurant itself was really neat and rich with history! I appreciate how they went about allowing customers to leave some sort of signature or hand-drawn record behind wherever they sat or gathered there. Writing, drawings, and artwork was everywhere in there! That definitely added entertainment to our experience. I already know I'm going back in the future, and when I do I'm gonna had my signature and perhaps a little doodle or two! I'm bummed none of us thought to do so while there last night lol.. Thank you again Brandon for that meal! You rock !!The booths are very spacious and comfortable too! Something I also wanted to add. But even then, there is never enough room! Even for all 5 of us in that colossal booth there wasn't enough room! The food portions were huge! ^_^"
"Wow, what a find. Stopped in here after seeing other yelpers talking about it. Some of the best tacos I've ever had. I had the Baja tacos (seafood) and my wife had the carnitas tacos. Both really good! Quaint place that has fun music playing."
"Fun, local spot for great creole style food. You can tell the owners of this place really care about the quality of food they are putting out. It was pretty busy when we went on a saturday night but we got seated quickly and the service was good. tI would really recommend the fried fish, its a huge portion of delicious, flaky fish that goes great with some lemon and tartar sauce. The breading on the fish is really flavorful, albeit a tad salty. You get a starter salad and sides with that dish as well. The gumbo was amazing, I've honestly never had gumbo that I liked that much before, had that perfect deep brown color that you know means it was prepared the right way. The Jalapeño cheese popper things (I think they were called gator teeth) were also really really yummy, not too spicy!Would definitely recommend this spot as a great local place to go for a hearty dinner!"

When telling people about restaurants in the area, I always mention Boudreaux's first. Truly a gem in St. Joe. The current building has so much character and adds a lot to the atmosphere. Everything tastes fresh and flavorful. Go-to is the jambalaya as a Cajun staple but the Cajun loaded fries are a MUST try! We have never had anything at Boudreaux's we didn't thoroughly enjoy!

I had the Bermuda Triangle. It was a pretty delicious drink. It came with 3 shots. I also had boudins. One jalapeño and one smoked. I had stuffed mushrooms and crab cakes. All the food was pretty good. The service was decent. It wasn't spectacular but it was decent. Overall I had a good experience and I would definitely come back.

The food is amazing. I tried everything on the all you could eat menu. Catfish was warm and delicious crawdads were spicy as they should be color, greens and cornbread or all perfectly made too!!!

I really like being able to order their green mussels for carryout. They come in a big bag along with a small corn on the cob and a few potatoes. They taste great, and come with plastic gloves and a bib. The food is ready quickly, and they've never messed up the order. You're better off calling directly rather than ordering online, however, because there is an upcharge of several dollars if you order online.

What an unexpected find on our Friday night search for a dinner option. We had some late afternoon errands & were hungry so we decided on finding something near the area we were in and through Yelp found Mariscos KC. Let's just say we are not hesitating to go back. We focused on the Cajun options with my husband getting the Shrimp Boil & I worked hard on the Crawfish Boil. We are not strangers to Seafood Boils and their base is the best we've ever had. The servers were smiling, friendly and efficient; especially Jenny who took great care of us. We like to sit at the bar especially a new place. It's a great to get to know the staff and how well a place runs and she is a great ambassador for the place. She insisted to come back and sit at the bar so she can take of us again Be sure to give this place a try and don't leave without trying their pineapple ice cream! Until next time.

I'll update this review if I ever actually get to eat here! That is right... no food on this review. But, I have been in twice and tried to eat at this place. I see so many 5 star reviews that I just have to share my experiences.1st time was an evening with a huge line and while waiting watched several groups in front of us begin a fight. So we quickly left.2nd time... went for lunch time. The floor was drastically sticky and the entire place smelled like cleaning fluid. So, by logic they may have just done the floors or something like that. Either way... staff was slow to come by the table to even ask us if we wanted drinks and during that time we decided to just go try somewhere else. See my review for Hook and Ladder.

"I always order take out from here and there's never an issue! Cajun Boiled Seafood and crawfish always hits the spot."
"Plan a little extra time to enjoy great food w family & friends. It takes a little time but completely worth it for well prepared Louisiana cookin', best Andouille Sausage Po Boy I've had outside of NOLA. It's just how I like it, well seared while still tender & juicy. Fried green tomatoes & Gator Bites were a hit too. Bluesy Zydeco background music that my friends Bauer & Ed will be sure to enjoy! I-70 Travelers & Ozarks goers PRO-TIP: stop here for lunch, it's only 75 minutes away! Keep in mind they close at 2pm & reopen at 4pm for dinner."
"Small restaurant business. I'm a fan of seafood. I have been to New Orleans, great seafood there at a low price. So I'm kind of spoiled by the price and amount of food you get. Of course I know the price for shipping has to be in consideration being in Kansas City. I'd say a little pricey. But not by that much.First pic out of the bag was impressive. They use a rubber band to keep the lid close.Opening the lid you find a plastic bag. This took up space. So looks can be distracting. There was a fair amount of food. Drowned in butter, medium size diced garlic, your choice of seasoning, there's a few to choose. I chose Cajun of course, being a New Orleans fan.I found it a little too much salt for my taste. I did enjoy my meal. Seafood and BBQ/ finger foods, I love. If it isn't messy a little. You're not doing it correctly. So I enjoyed the fact, "It's messy." They do give you a bib and gloves for those who don't like licking the butter off your fingers. My taste in spice level isn't that of, " My mouth is on fire." But I like to sweat a little. Mild for me, Thank you. I did a walk in order to go. Service was speedy, but they weren't that busy either.I like, off the Country Club Plaza places. So if you're like minded. I would say give them a try. Support local small businesses. And decide for yourself."
"I arrived at this restaurant and was mesmerized by the decor. The unique decor made me feel as though I was on a boat/near the sea. We were greeted warmly and seated promptly. The server was kind and helpful throughout the entire evening; she answered questions about portions, spice levels, and more! This was extremely helpful since this was our first visit here. We ordered the fried calamari for an appetizer and it was very delicious. I highly recommend! They had a boil special, in which I chose crawfish (1 lb)--it included potatoes, a corn, and an egg. Since this was my first time eating crawfish, I noticed that there were many fish--however the amount of meat seemed minimal (could just be a norm for crawfish, unsure!). The egg, potatoes, and corn were very yummy. I ordered mild spice with a combination of Cajun and garlic butter seasoning (I do NOT like spicy food), and it was a great level of seasoning without being spicy. This was a fun experience--I will definitely return but maybe try shrimp without the head instead."
"Finally made it over to see what this Yummi Crab was all about! I can assure you that it is all about Yummi!Just look at that beautiful pie tin of food! But I must say that of all the reviews that I have read, I cannot remember anyone that has mentioned the sausage! So, tonight I will make mention that the sausage is every bit as good as the shrimp, the taters, and the corn (I haven't tried the lobster tails, crab, mussels, or crab legs, yet)! I did make a mistake when I ordered the mild spice level, next time I will bump it up to medium, and next time I go I will order the crawdads and sausage! There was enough food in that nice shiny, oversized pie tin to take half home and make a tasty lunch tomorrow!Well Done Yummi Crab!Well done indeed! It's a Thursday evening in Gladstone stuffing my face with shrimp and sausage, life is good!"
"First time here. Liked it. Will come again. Boom boom shrimp appetizer was good. Jumbo shrimp dinner with sweet potato fries was also good. Cocktail sauce and tartar sauce were both good. Crawfish ètouffèe was tasty but I wish it had more rice and the crawdads were tiny, but there were still plentiful enough to flavor the dish. Got a side of red rice and beans. Very good. Again, a little light on rice. Bathrooms were clean. Service was prompt and helpful."
"This place is incredible. We had two parties last Christmas and they catered both. The food was excellent. Blake was incredibly professional. He offered different food options for each party. Food was delicious. Blake and his team set and and tore down. I was so impressed I went to his home site and ordered a turkey panini and it was hands down incredible. I love the fact that Robby's Cheesecake is in same location and they are a 5 Star desserts!"
"Louisiana Seafood and Sushi Station are now both closed in their location in the strip mall at 23rd Street and Louisiana. Their successor is Concept 23 at 1606 West 23rd Street a few blocks west of the location of the former to restaurants. I will post a separate four star review for that new restaurant."
