"Louisiana Seafood and Sushi Station are now both closed in their location in the strip mall at 23rd Street and Louisiana. Their successor is Concept 23 at 1606 West 23rd Street a few blocks west of the location of the former to restaurants. I will post a separate four star review for that new restaurant."
"It was fun restaurant to try out unfortunately we didn't expect our food to take an entire hour to cook. We were told that the owner/chef cooks everything to order which would amount to the time we arrived at 7:30pm got food at 8:30pm. Everything else was self serve on soda/water, paper products and ketchup. They have 4 ordering/paying machines like McDonalds. Menu prices were good, fish dinner w/2 sides for $16. Children dinners for $5. Desserts for $5-$8. Wanted to the red beans and rice but not for $15 an order. No liquor license yet but others brought their own liquor in to drink. No band playing tonight had a small setup in corner. Mixture of tables and table/booths, 4 large TV's on wall, & small room in back. Very clean. Would go back if we ordered in advance."
Spicy. A Cajun staple. Andouille sausage, beef tenderloin and Tasso slow-cooked with dirty rice and Creole tomato sauce.

"We stopped in here on a Friday night, and they had amazing artist playing live music during our dinner. We love to get their hush puppies and beignets They have a nice selection of all your Louisiana favorites. The service here is good, and they are always really helpful."
"Cajun dusted Mako shark served over lemon pepper slaw and topped with a shrimp Florentine sauce. This was a Friday night special and like all of the sandwiches it is a two fisted monster! But, not only is it big it's loaded with freshness and flavor!"
"As a Louisiana native from the Shreveport/Bossier area, I must say that Memories Cafe NAILS cajun/creole food!!! The best I have ever had outside my boot-shaped state! Seriously! If you are ever passing through the great town of Higbee, MO, don't pass this place up! Such a warm welcome from everyone at Memories - makes me want to put down roots in this Salt-of-the-Earth patch of America! Will be back if I ever pass through again!"
"Listen up KC locals and visitors! I'm and out of town visitor staying at the Westin Crown Center I came across this restaurant as "Hot and New". First off, I always like to support new and up and coming food establishments, especially black owned businesses. Initially I wanted to Door Dash but being that they were just getting established, they were still awaiting their partnership with them. So I decided to get out of the comfort of my four walls and I am so glad I did! In my profession I travel quite a bit and visit many cities throughout North America and make every effort to dine at majority mom and pop restaurants. My home town is the entertainment and dinning capital of the US (Vegas Baby) so I can distinguish a bad vs a superb restaurant. There is one thing restaurants simply don't understand, you can have the most aesthetically pleasing ambiance, pricing structured to city that it is within, you can have good food, whatever, but being passionate about the food you serve with a friendly demeanor towards your patrons, with a serving of mmmmm good lawd.....you will have a continuity of success! This restaurant has all of the mentioned elements within their establishment. I visit KC every year and all of my experiences have been sub par and not enough for me to visit them twice. This will now always be a staple to visit whenever I am in town. Let me emphasize that if you like catfish you will LOVE theirs! My pasta dish probably had 10 scallops and a heaping amount of shrimp. Kuddos to the Chef and the entire team! Sorry for the long post, you simply cannot abbreviate what is being served! Midwest charm with impeccable service, vibes, and Fantastic Food! P.S. - Ask for Sean as your server! He is five start dinning experience."
"First time here. Liked it. Will come again. Boom boom shrimp appetizer was good. Jumbo shrimp dinner with sweet potato fries was also good. Cocktail sauce and tartar sauce were both good. Crawfish ètouffèe was tasty but I wish it had more rice and the crawdads were tiny, but there were still plentiful enough to flavor the dish. Got a side of red rice and beans. Very good. Again, a little light on rice. Bathrooms were clean. Service was prompt and helpful."
"Small restaurant business. I'm a fan of seafood. I have been to New Orleans, great seafood there at a low price. So I'm kind of spoiled by the price and amount of food you get. Of course I know the price for shipping has to be in consideration being in Kansas City. I'd say a little pricey. But not by that much.First pic out of the bag was impressive. They use a rubber band to keep the lid close.Opening the lid you find a plastic bag. This took up space. So looks can be distracting. There was a fair amount of food. Drowned in butter, medium size diced garlic, your choice of seasoning, there's a few to choose. I chose Cajun of course, being a New Orleans fan.I found it a little too much salt for my taste. I did enjoy my meal. Seafood and BBQ/ finger foods, I love. If it isn't messy a little. You're not doing it correctly. So I enjoyed the fact, "It's messy." They do give you a bib and gloves for those who don't like licking the butter off your fingers. My taste in spice level isn't that of, " My mouth is on fire." But I like to sweat a little. Mild for me, Thank you. I did a walk in order to go. Service was speedy, but they weren't that busy either.I like, off the Country Club Plaza places. So if you're like minded. I would say give them a try. Support local small businesses. And decide for yourself."
"I always order take out from here and there's never an issue! Cajun Boiled Seafood and crawfish always hits the spot."
"I've had Zydecos a decent amount over a 6 month period and I felt it was time to just call it, this place is incredible. I love Cajun food so tbh I was a bit skeptical here in Warrensburg but damn I love to be proven wrong. Everything I've tried has always been incredible. The gumbo, fried green tomatoes, shrimp po boy, the muffuletta, the chicken fried steak, even the cheeseburger is probably my favorite in town. Service is always great and i can't think of a single complaint. Don't miss this place."

Now I am not one to use the word scam a lot. I am a serious yelper and customer, so I do take each visit seriously...especially when it comes to my money! Unfortunately I was duped into believing that the flyers I received in my mail a week ago were to a new hip restaurant in town. The title "Louisiana seafood" seriously had me thinking a new southern comfort restaurant had come to the Midwest and since I love southern cuisine, I just had to come and check it out. I was so convinced I was helping a business out, that I checked yelp prior to coming, so I could read some reviews. When I didn't see any, that made me more excited to know that I would be the first person to speak on it....Well, I certainly wish I could tell you that even though it was a scam to draw customers, but the food was worth it, alas I cannot. The food was greasy and bland and when I asked what the mango cake looked like, the guy goes to a refrigerator sitting near the register and pulls out this box of frozen little mini cakes cut up in squares. I said no to the "mango cake". Honestly I don't have a problem with a business trying to expand and appeal to another demographic all to make a living, what I do have a problem with is not making it clear to the public that's what you're doing. And I certainly have a problem with someone passing themselves off as a southern cuisine restaurant and all they are is a Chinese place who is just chosen to add thier take on it and call it "Louisiana seafood". Safe as it is to say I will not be back. Now that I know it's just a sushi place trying to pass themselves off as a southern restaurant , honey, you don't get my money being fake and phony!!!

The food is amazing. I tried everything on the all you could eat menu. Catfish was warm and delicious crawdads were spicy as they should be color, greens and cornbread or all perfectly made too!!!

I had the Bermuda Triangle. It was a pretty delicious drink. It came with 3 shots. I also had boudins. One jalapeño and one smoked. I had stuffed mushrooms and crab cakes. All the food was pretty good. The service was decent. It wasn't spectacular but it was decent. Overall I had a good experience and I would definitely come back.

We just went there for the first time this afternoon. Pros: Chicken and andoullie sandwich was as good as any sandwich I've ever had. The meat was amazing, but the combination of other ingredients kicked it over the top.Cons: Food coma.My wife had excellent gumbo.

It's been 3 days since I was at Swift's Cajun Cuisine and I still can't stop thinking about how good my lunch was. My creamy pasta with Cajun seasoning was loaded with sausage and shrimp, giving every bite a chunk of protein to compliment the pasta covered in a spicy cream sauce - wonderful. I dined solo and sat at the bar on a mid Saturday afternoon. Good service from the bartender, a nice ambiance and some great variety of soul music playing at a proper level.Going on the "must return soon" list.

Walk-On's has a really nice feel overall, will be a great place to grab food and watch games with the guys. Plenty of TV's in the building, there is a lot to choose from on the menu as well.Overall service experience, host table and servers all did a great job, the buzzers were very attentive and quick to grab things when we finished plates.Overall food opinions:Gator Bites: They are perfectly breaded, fried and seasoned, I will for sure get those when I come back next.Crawfish Etouffee:It was not the size serving I was expecting, but still was filling, The roux itself was delicious, but I think it would do well with a little "heat" added to it. Ahi Tuna Bowl:Tuna itself was delicious had a nice smoky flavor to it, the sauce it had on it was also quite delicious. Wish the edamame had been warmed instead of cold.Surf and Turf Melt:The burger was cooked well and was very juicy, the shrimp and sauce on it were very tasty as well. Fries were a little over-saltedBread Pudding: had a very nice flavor and consistency, I do wish it was bigger or came with ice cream! Will definitely be back when this place launches Monday!

Honestly the taste is close to a 5 stars almost perfect, portions are good as well. The reason why I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is because it is quite pricy but it is worth it to be honesty!

"Finally made it over to see what this Yummi Crab was all about! I can assure you that it is all about Yummi!Just look at that beautiful pie tin of food! But I must say that of all the reviews that I have read, I cannot remember anyone that has mentioned the sausage! So, tonight I will make mention that the sausage is every bit as good as the shrimp, the taters, and the corn (I haven't tried the lobster tails, crab, mussels, or crab legs, yet)! I did make a mistake when I ordered the mild spice level, next time I will bump it up to medium, and next time I go I will order the crawdads and sausage! There was enough food in that nice shiny, oversized pie tin to take half home and make a tasty lunch tomorrow!Well Done Yummi Crab!Well done indeed! It's a Thursday evening in Gladstone stuffing my face with shrimp and sausage, life is good!"
"This was a great lunch. I had the rice was outstanding, the beans sweet and smokey, the coleslaw delicious and the catfish ample and mild. All this for $5.75. We will be coming back."
"Fun, local spot for great creole style food. You can tell the owners of this place really care about the quality of food they are putting out. It was pretty busy when we went on a saturday night but we got seated quickly and the service was good. tI would really recommend the fried fish, its a huge portion of delicious, flaky fish that goes great with some lemon and tartar sauce. The breading on the fish is really flavorful, albeit a tad salty. You get a starter salad and sides with that dish as well. The gumbo was amazing, I've honestly never had gumbo that I liked that much before, had that perfect deep brown color that you know means it was prepared the right way. The Jalapeño cheese popper things (I think they were called gator teeth) were also really really yummy, not too spicy!Would definitely recommend this spot as a great local place to go for a hearty dinner!"
"This place is incredible. We had two parties last Christmas and they catered both. The food was excellent. Blake was incredibly professional. He offered different food options for each party. Food was delicious. Blake and his team set and and tore down. I was so impressed I went to his home site and ordered a turkey panini and it was hands down incredible. I love the fact that Robby's Cheesecake is in same location and they are a 5 Star desserts!"
"Plan a little extra time to enjoy great food w family & friends. It takes a little time but completely worth it for well prepared Louisiana cookin', best Andouille Sausage Po Boy I've had outside of NOLA. It's just how I like it, well seared while still tender & juicy. Fried green tomatoes & Gator Bites were a hit too. Bluesy Zydeco background music that my friends Bauer & Ed will be sure to enjoy! I-70 Travelers & Ozarks goers PRO-TIP: stop here for lunch, it's only 75 minutes away! Keep in mind they close at 2pm & reopen at 4pm for dinner."
"Ashley is doing it right. My favorite restaurant in the world. Get the Seafood Fries, the Shrimp Po Boy and the Chicken and Sausage gumbo. Thank you!!!"
"Enjoyed a muffuletta and my son had a blackened chicken sandwich that he declared to be excellent. Two dishes and two drinks was $24. Atmosphere is not great - cramped and loud. Service was outstanding. You order at the counter and then we received our order at our table in less than 10 minutes. Positive experience. Four stars due to atmosphere."
"Had the most WONDERFUL experience with this company. The owner came herself everything was timely, beautifully displayed and extremely delicious. I would give a 10/10 if I could."
"Last night my friends spoiled me at an eatery in Independence I didn't know existed there. Certainly not "new" to any of them of course lol.. since they've proudly been there Several times due to how Good it is! I couldn't agree more! The customer service was excellent! Destiny was our waitress last night and she was nothing BUT amazing to us and made sure we were comfortable, well aware of our meal options, and taken care of! ^_^ My first experience there is one I'll cherish forever! The quality of food was just ridiculous In every Great way possible. I'm also glad I opted mild spice instead of going Spicy like I usually do with this style cuisine, but I'm definitely gonna go Much spicier next time since I know it's gonna be incredible. The restaurant itself was really neat and rich with history! I appreciate how they went about allowing customers to leave some sort of signature or hand-drawn record behind wherever they sat or gathered there. Writing, drawings, and artwork was everywhere in there! That definitely added entertainment to our experience. I already know I'm going back in the future, and when I do I'm gonna had my signature and perhaps a little doodle or two! I'm bummed none of us thought to do so while there last night lol.. Thank you again Brandon for that meal! You rock !!The booths are very spacious and comfortable too! Something I also wanted to add. But even then, there is never enough room! Even for all 5 of us in that colossal booth there wasn't enough room! The food portions were huge! ^_^"
"Food was good and hot, staff was friendly. Would go back. Grits were top notch and the gator bites and swamp fries were awesome"
"Absolutely delicious!! We ordered the ceviche appetizer and it was a generous serving for a very reasonable price with great flavor. That was really filling but we also got the Baja tacos with all the flavors (shrimp, calamari, and white fish). The calamari and white fish were breaded with a perfect, crunchy coating and all the flavors were scrumptious. The Mexican ramen hits the spot if you're looking for a yummy, hot soup with a little kick. This is a great place if you're looking for tasty seafood or just great authentic Mexican food. We were very pleased with everything!"
"First time eating here. I was actually quite impressed. Arrived around 5:30, so it was already getting dark. The place literally looked like a hole in the wall from the outside. We were immediately greeted upon entering and seated. Server came right away and took our drink orders. Ordered some hush puppies for an appetizer, which I didn't realize came with a meal when you ordered it. My mom and I ordered the large shrimp platter, which was 1# of shrimp. It was DELICIOUS and tasty with lots of flavor! I would highly recommend it! We also ordered the chocolate chip cookie sundae for dessert. It wasn't exactly what I was expecting. The cookie was rather dry even with the ice cream on top of it. The strawberry cake was just okay, nothing really to brag about. The service was good and she kept our ice tea filled up for the most part. She had a bubbly personality as well. I would recommend this place. Don't always judge a place by the way the outside looks! We happen to be there on a night Santa and Mrs. Claus was visiting."
"Wow, what a find. Stopped in here after seeing other yelpers talking about it. Some of the best tacos I've ever had. I had the Baja tacos (seafood) and my wife had the carnitas tacos. Both really good! Quaint place that has fun music playing."
"I'm super impressed by this restaurant. I'm from Houston and we have lots of great Cajun food being so close to Louisiana. I have to say, the food was just as good as I could get in my neck of the woods. Even though they were super busy service was great. There is lots of interesting things to look at throughout the restaurant. I would definitely eat here again."
"I've got a new nominee for best sandwich in KC! If you love locally owned, AUTHENTIC preparation and generous portions, this is the place for you.If you've ever been to Louisiana and sampled a real po' boy and wished we had that back home, well wish no more. This couple is serving up Cajun specialties in a cool environment right here in KC's northland.I was blown away by my traditional shrimp po' boy that was served on a large perfectly soft bun and included sautéed craw fish and POLENTA in addition to the usual fixins. And their slaw was as good or better than any I've ever had anywhere. They have lots of other Cajun delights as well as daily Chef imagined specials. Give them a try."
"I arrived at this restaurant and was mesmerized by the decor. The unique decor made me feel as though I was on a boat/near the sea. We were greeted warmly and seated promptly. The server was kind and helpful throughout the entire evening; she answered questions about portions, spice levels, and more! This was extremely helpful since this was our first visit here. We ordered the fried calamari for an appetizer and it was very delicious. I highly recommend! They had a boil special, in which I chose crawfish (1 lb)--it included potatoes, a corn, and an egg. Since this was my first time eating crawfish, I noticed that there were many fish--however the amount of meat seemed minimal (could just be a norm for crawfish, unsure!). The egg, potatoes, and corn were very yummy. I ordered mild spice with a combination of Cajun and garlic butter seasoning (I do NOT like spicy food), and it was a great level of seasoning without being spicy. This was a fun experience--I will definitely return but maybe try shrimp without the head instead."
