"Once again this place is stellar. I LOVE The Smoke Burger. I can't describe all the wonderful flavors - because I already did that in a review. :P The truffles french fries are more than worth getting and not sharing. Whenever I go to a concert in Lawrence I look forward to going to The Burger Stand."
"I trusted the YES and made the drive to NKC from Lee's Summit. Tay's Burger Shack did not disappoint!!! Wow!! I didn't know it was all grass fed and finished beef. I was momentarily concerned that it would have enough fat or umami. No worries. It's all GREAT!! The burger, bun and cheese are all lucious. I'd give it a 7/10. I've only had one ten and not in KC. Just a super burger here. The fries were interesting with some pepper they added. I'm not a fry guy, but the reviews convinced me to try them and they were good. My wife will love them. The joint is cool and jumping. The staff is cool too. Great spot. We're lucky to have a place like this."

"Food was delicious and portions so big we split a sandwich with small fries. I loved how the other customers helped us select something an how the counter person gave us a small containers of all the sauces they offered. Atmosphere was no nonsense."
"Most BBQ places around Kansas only do Burnt Ends on special days. This place does it everyday. They have beef and pork Burnt Ends. They also have Briskets. They also have fall off the bone St Louis Ribs. They also have these melt in your mouthCornbread bites.Plus check out there Daily Specials. They have awesome drinks.Chk out the awesome kids meals.Bring the family for outdoor games. There easy to find right off the K-10 and De SotoExit."
"Been wanting to try here forever in a day. Late brunch brought us in on a Sunday. Service was prompt. Beautiful old building. Cubano my Hubs ordered was pretty legit. My Benedict was terrible. Too much tarragon and dill in the hollandaise left all other flavors struggling to compete. Ate a few bites because it was kind of pricey at $22, but really couldn't force myself to eat anymore. Will take home to the dog. I will probably never find myself here again. Even the Cubano was good, but not have to have again."
"Second time eating here, both times have been so happy with our visits. I need to add this restaurant to our rotation on a more regular basis. Legit burger options! Love that they offer to sub a plant based option for my vegetarian kid. The fish and chips were tasty. Which is hard to find here in the Midwest. Staff is attentive and pleasant. Restaurant is clean and well kept."
"The evening that we dined at WFM, was the night before the "big game". The had a $3.00 mini burger special and were extremely busy. Our appetizer came out hot and was delicious but our burgers and fries were cold, especially the fries. The fries also tasted terrible and lacked flavor. Despite the crowd, the beverage table service was friendly and efficient. Although this visit wasn't a touchdown, we will try it again perhaps on a less crowded time and/or a night when they have live music."
"This place is awesome. The history of this slider hamburger spot is awesome. Every time I am in Salina, I go by and get a bag of the little burgers. The people are always kind. Love it."
"Looking for something out of the norm with my nephew. This was a wonderful fine. The gentleman working the place was a wonderful fellow. The food was great and my nephew, who can be a picky eater, loved his chicken basket. I had the breakfast burger with spicy fry's. It was delicious. Very glad we took a chance. You should also."
"Got there was pretty busy, but was seated as soon as we walked through the door. Our waiter was cool and professional. I had the Philadelphia freedom, which is a chicken cheesesteak, topped with bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, and cheese. It was pretty, but a little too cheesy for me, only cause me and diary ain't the best of friends . Fries were good as well. Decent spot, will go back again."
"I've been exploring new places and I just gave this a chance. This is literally by my house and I just now found out about it. I got the regular chicken sandwich to try with no onions and pickles and some fries on the side. It was very good! The chicken was cooked well and the flavor was amazing. We just went thru the DT so we didn't get to check eating at the location but other than that, the service was great and very friendly. Please give this place a chance. Is delicious!"
"Great burgers, prompt service, great patio when the weather is nice. Tried the pickle fries this time and they were so good! They are cut like fries instead of chips. They have an amazing Monday night special- $30 for 4 burgers and fries."

I've been coming to the Burger Stand since they opened way back in the day and I was still a student at KU. I have to say that as far as consistency goes, they are one of those places that has so far managed to really maintain their commitment to quality and remain unchanged in the best ways possible for over a decade. The truffle fries are still amongst the best french fries really within driving distance of Kansas City, the dipping sauces alone would bring me back, but the fries are great solo as well. The burgers are insanely good. Every single one I've had has hit the spot. AND, they still have a great tap list, and casual ambiance that makes this place sing. Ever since covid they opened up a patio in the front which is where we sat on our most recent visit, and it was honestly great, especially for kids as it was a bit less loud, and if a kid dropped a fry on the ground there was a fat and happy squirrel nearby ready to pick it up. Overall, I'm so grateful this place is still as wonderful as it was when I was in my twenties, and I'm sure we'll be back.

My husband and I are from Texas and we are visiting KC for work. We were looking for a good burger and decided to try Tay's Burger Shack, man did it Not disappoint! The burger was absolutely amazing but the Service was the Best Part!! Nick helped me out and got me everything I needed with a smile (Fork, knife, Ranch, to go box) he even took away my trash! This guy definitely needs a raise! The lady working was very nice as well I didn't get her name though! If you want friendly service and a Fantastic Burger definitely try Tay's out!

Pigwich is a fantastic go-to spot for sandwich lovers in Kansas City, offering high-quality, locally-sourced meats served in a casual and unpretentious setting. Located within the Local Pig butcher shop, Pigwich specializes in gourmet sandwiches that highlight fresh, flavorful ingredients. The menu features a rotating selection of sandwiches, but the Pigwich (their signature sandwich with slow-roasted pork, slaw, and barbecue sauce) is a must-try. The combination of tender, flavorful pork and tangy slaw makes for a perfectly balanced sandwich. Other popular choices include their cheeseburger, which is juicy and full of flavor, and the banh mi, offering a deliciously spicy and fresh take on the Vietnamese classic. What sets Pigwich apart is the freshness of the ingredients. The meats are butchered on-site, ensuring a level of quality you can taste. The bread is also excellent, providing a perfect, soft-but-sturdy base for the generously portioned fillings.Service is fast and friendly, though seating is limited and mainly outdoors, so it's more of a grab-and-go or quick bite spot. During peak times, it can get a bit crowded, but the food is well worth the wait.Overall, Pigwich is a standout in Kansas City for anyone craving high-quality, flavor-packed sandwiches made with care and fresh ingredients. It's perfect for a quick, satisfying lunch or an easy dinner.

This was a untaxed atmosphere with very quick service. We had to eat and run due to another scheduled event and they were great about getting our food out fast.

We stumbled on to this must try by chance. We were staying at the Hotel across the parking lot. What a fun place. Food was good, I don't eat burgers do I had the chicken Panini with a salad. I did receive curly fries, but no problem the just made me a salad & told me to enjoy the fries. Just to note CASH ONLY. Prices are reasonable& they have a cash machine available. Order from the bar & drinks are ordered at the table by a server. Service was great & they have interest games everywhere. Fun for every one of all ages. Our drink server Bailey was great.

Had a chance to sit at the counter inside and chat with the team during a slower weekday lunch service. The burgers are a tiny bit drier than what you might be used to with White Castle but right on flavor-wise. If you're not sure, order 4 first. 6 was really filling for me.

"I met family in Empora at Do-B's based off of Yelp reviews and it did not disappoint! This is a solid old school diner and literally everything on the menu is good. From milkshakes to po-boys, you will love your meal here. I knocked it down one star for two reasons: it's a small place so seating is at a premium! I didn't notice this from other reviews so if you have a big group, this probably isn't the place for you, or you may want to consider carry out. Also, the restrooms are on the exterior of the building. Granted, they are clean, but with a toddler and dodging freezing rain the day we visited, it was a massive drag to have to ask for a key and then trudge outside, dodging cold rain to use the restroom. To make matters worse someone on the stairwell above us poured a TON of dirty water right in front of where you wait and we nearly got drenched. So, that literally put a damper on the experience (pun intended!). At any rate, I'd 100% return the food is incredible, the people nice, and the ambiance is clean and nostalgic."
"Good Barbecue. Unexpected but pleasant - never would I have stopped in without YelpGreat burnt ends"
"Love this place! Amazing soda and burger options, but the fries are a star for many. This has a bit of a small diner feel, all while serving up some unique takes on the classics!"
"Nice place to sample beers at your leisure. Get a card pick a glass and go to town. You can do a flight for yourself or pour whole glass. They have a great selection super easy to self serve. They also have a full bar if you'd like something other than beer. They have a traditional bar food menu. My friends and I ordered the cheese curds, towanda wings, tater tots, chicken tenders, classic sliders and a classic burger. Food was good, I did not try the wings as I wasn't too sure about the sauce being spicy or not. I do. ot handle spice well. But the rest of the food was good. They have music playing and we were there on a Friday night and live music started after we had been there in the late evening. Good place to hang out with friends to eat and drink and be merry"
"First ImpressionFeels like a classic mom and pop wing shop when you walk in. Orders are taken at the counter and you seat yourself. The menu can be a bit overwhelming with so many flavors, but trust me this is a good thing since they have a ton of great options and not just flavors for the sake of having options. FoodBest wings spot in K.C in my opinion. Sauces are impeccable and the dry rubs tingle the tastebuds. The wings are always cooked brilliantly with a great crisp to the breading. I usually get Hot Buffalo wings with Cajun fries. The hot buffalo is so flavorful with a bit of a spice. Nothing too hot, if you can handle some heat I highly recommend it. Fries are also outstanding and perfectly crisp. House ranch is solid too!Final VerdictAmazing wings and sides. I haven't had any better in the city (and I think I'm a wings connoisseur). Only issue is food can be inconsistent at times. Get over to Westport and give this place a try. 5 stars."
"I chose this burger stand because I like hole in the Wall restaurants. usually their food is good. The burger was delicious but needed more seasoning kinda tasted like nothing Lol. Fries were banging!!! Nice crisp not mushy for the price the burger was on the small side.(you could get a bigger and better tasting burger from Denny's) frfr first time try and last time trying"
"This is a black owned business. It's hard to enjoy their foods when they closes so early or keep their place open in a short time. But overall, their chicken wings are freshly made when ordered and their waffles are so soft and good. Have tried the other food on their menu but don't see myself coming back due to their opening hours."
"Great place for a quick easy bite. Definitely not diet friendly but who cares if you are just looking for a lunch and don't want to drive far. I would recommend ordering online, especially if it is around lunch time."
"Not much to say, best beer and burgers in Westport. Cool bartenders, cooks, and a good vibe all around."
"Hidden gem in KC. We visited Brew Lab during KC Restaurant week and will be adding this restaurant to our list for date nights. We fell in love with their pretzel bites and queso! We had a flight of their house beer and if you like cider, I recommend Zuzu's Petals!"
"My family and I come here a lot - a little bit because we know there's something on the menu for all of us, including my picky toddler, but also because there doesn't happen to be a lot of casual dining around here unless you go up to 87th St.Blue Moose is a big restaurant with casual cabin dining vibes, complete with Blue Moose all around. It's one of my son's favorites. We never seem to have an issue with the hostesses and are generally seated pretty quickly. I'm not sure how the server sections work here, but from here it seems like it always takes 15-20+ minutes to get to us, even when it's not busy. On the worst occasion, I think I waited 35 minutes just to get drinks with several wait staff walking past us multiple times. After that though, and orders are in, things seem to go smoothly and move along as expected. As I mentioned before, the food is always good. My husband usually gets sandwiches or wraps. I change it up sometimes but recently I've been getting the curry. I used to think it was odd to have curry on an other American-style restaurant, but dang is it good here. I definitely recommended adding the blackened shrimp too! Another favorite of mine is the wedge salad + add grilled salmon.3 stars for spotty service, but bumped up to 4 stars for consistently good food."
"Like an old high school friend that you haven't seen in 15 years, but then run into at the grocery store and you're suddenly transported back in time and blissful nostalgia, that's what happened to me today when I found myself at LC's in the Northland in literally I don't know how long. It's been years. LC's is a locally-owned burger joint that sticks out even in a city with plenty of great burger places. WARNING: LC's burgers are heavenly but very, very "juicy." I use quotes there because while I, and other fans, call it juicy, others would call them greasy. If you're a fan of drier, Burger King-like burgers, you may not appreciate LC's.The burger patties are on the slimmer side and not the thicker backyard burger style. In my younger days, a double burger was mandatory and triples were consumed in those "I'm Starving" times. Today I had a mental flashback and got a double bacon cheeseburger and it honestly kicked my butt. At 61-yrs old, it might be single burgers for me from now on. Standard toppings include ketchup, mustard and grilled onions. Mayo, tomato and lettuce are also available.Burgers are made after you order so it will ALWAYS be hot right off the grill. They have about nine different burgers to choose from, but also close to a dozen other types of sandwiches, fried fish and tenderloins other than burgers and I've had most of them. I'm confident you'll find something to your liking. Sides are headed by terrific fries (normal fast-food kind like McDonalds) and onion rings created by the Devil because they're so good. Fried pickles or mushrooms, tater tots along with five or six other choices make it easy to complement your meal. Kids meals include a burger or grilled cheese choice. Vanilla, chocolate and twist ice cream cones, cups and sundaes can top off a great meal. Obviously I highly recommend my old pal, LC's and I won't let it be another decade before going back. Heck, it won't be another 10 days!"
"True sports bar that plays the volume of the game out loud for all to hear. Great sound projection throughout the bar and restaurant. Solid chicken wings with a delicious mango habanero sauce. Good flavor, not spicy with nice sweetness. Loaded taters were yummy. It was fun to find a pool table inside as well! Service was quick and friendly. They support all local sports teams. I can see this place being a great spot to watch your favorite team battle it out."
"If you are in the area. This place is a MUST. We came in about an hour before closing, just the two of us. We ordered cocktails. They had a great selection of whiskey drinks and even aged some of their stuff in house which was cool. I ordered the ribeye which I was hesitant to order since it's a bit more money than I'd usually spend at a restaurant but I am SO glad I did. It was perfectly cooked medium rare and so juicy and tender. Highly recommend. The Caesar salad that came with it was delicious as well. Probably the best Caesar I've ever had. My partner got the chicken piccata and was equally as happy with it. We also got a slice of turtle cheesecake to split which was absolutely perfect in every way. I wish we weren't just passing through so we could come back!"
"This is a darn solid burger! I was very pleased with the smell when I walked in the door because I knew I was in for a treat. The burgers did not disappoint! They were very tasty and satisfying. The fellow taking orders and working the front, who I believe was the owner, was very kind and helpful and guided me around the menu. This is the kind of burger joint I have been looking for and I will be back here in the future for sure. If you want a great burger grill on a well seasoned flat top, you should check this place out."
"Hungry on Sunday mornings and afternoon. Stop and go here. Oh, Leavenworth, you've outdone yourself! The Suburban's Sunday brunch is a glorious symphony of sweet and savory, with every bite an orchestra of delight. The French toast, fluffy as a cloud and kissed with warm bourbon, melted on my tongue with a honeyed whisper. But then came the spicy and sweet fried chicken, a crispy carnival for my taste buds! The heat danced with the sugary glaze, a tango of tang and fire that left me wanting more. But the magic of The Suburban goes beyond the plate. The wait staff, like friendly brunch elves, flitted around with smiles and speedy refills. And the owner, a culinary conductor, checked in personally, ensuring every note of our experience was perfect. It's the kind of attention that makes you feel like family, welcomed with open arms and bottomless mimosas. So, Leavenworth, I tip my mimosa flute to you and The Suburban. Your Sunday brunch is a masterpiece, a delicious reminder that a perfect weekend starts with a symphony of crispy chicken, fluffy French toast, and smiles brighter than the Kansas sun.## Portuguese:Oh, Leavenworth, você se superou! O brunch de domingo do The Suburban é uma gloriosa sinfonia de doce e salgado, com cada mordida uma orquestra de prazer. A rabanada francesa, fofa como uma nuvem e beijada com bourbon quente, derreteu na minha língua com um sussurro de mel. Mas então veio o frango frito picante e doce, um carnaval crocante para minhas papilas gustativas! O calor dançou com o glaçúcar, um tango de aroma e fogo que me deixou querendo mais.Mas a magia do The Suburban vai além do prato. Os garçons, como elfos amigáveis do brunch, flutuavam com sorrisos e refis rápidos. E o proprietário, um maestro da culinária, verificava pessoalmente, garantindo que cada nota da nossa experiência fosse perfeita. É o tipo de atenção que faz você se sentir em família, bem-vindo de braços abertos e mimosas sem fundo.Então, Leavenworth, eu ergo minha taça de mimosa para você e para o The Suburban. "Stopped for lunch the other day and it was VERY good! I had a turkey sandwich (I think!?!) and it was amazing. Great service and cool atmosphere too!"
"My sister and I came here for breakfast on our way out of town, and we're so glad we did. The staff was friendly, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was so fun. Lots of decor to look at!"
"Brewtop is always a great place to go for drinks and live music. I recommend sitting on the roof. Their bar food is above average, especially the gourmet pretzel bites. Spin dip is awesome! They have raspberry rocket pop quirk on tap all summer long (my favorite). The servers are always very friendly and attentive. I am very picky about my caeser salad and this one was not my favorite, the shrimp was mid as well. However, the rest of the food that I've had the opportunity to try has always been good. Definitely recommend for a happy hour or game day."
"Always so delicious and the portions are large. Grateful for a yummy burger place in our small town."
"Excellent food and atmosphere. Very unique place with a view of Crown Center. The burnt ends bowl is awesome. They also have great burgers."
"On occasion I will order from 54th Street Grill. This establishment never disappoints. I ordered ToGo food and I think the pictures speak for themselves. The chicken sandwich was tasty, I enjoyed it. The Tortilla Soup tasted good. I look forward to ordering lunch from them again."
"We went in for late night dining in. Most places stop serving right around 9pm. Menu has a pretty good selection. Lots of TV screen around if you're there to watch sport. They also have a room with games and music Jukebox. Fire pit outside for that cool evening outdoor seating. I ordered the firecracker shrimp tacos. It was great. Just the kind of tacos I like. This place was quiet enough to have a conversation with your friend there. Service was great. Waitress was attentive. A place I would definitely come back to."
