"As dedicated fans of Scott's, we have thoroughly enjoyed both lunch and dinner at this establishment on numerous occasions. This has instilled in us a sense of excitement as we looked forward to exploring their breakfast menu. Over our previous visits, we have consistently appreciated the diverse range of options and the delightful flavors that Scott's has to offer. With this in mind, we were genuinely curious whether their breakfast offerings would live up to the high standards we had come to expect. With great anticipation, we made the decision to try breakfast at Scott's, eager to uncover the delicious dishes they had crafted for the morning meal. Upon arrival, we decided to sample the biscuits and gravy as well as the burnt ends breakfast burrito, both of which were simply delicious! The biscuits were warm, fluffy, and perfectly paired with a rich, savory gravy that had just the right amount of seasoning. Meanwhile, the burnt ends breakfast burrito was a flavor-packed delight, featuring tender pieces of smoked meat wrapped with eggs and fresh ingredients, all enveloped in a warm tortilla.Additionally, we were fortunate to have Trisha as our server. Her kindness and genuine enthusiasm added to our experience, making the morning even more enjoyable. She was incredibly attentive and engaging, creating a welcoming atmosphere that made us feel right at home. Thank you, Trisha, for the excellent service! We left feeling satisfied and excited to return for another meal at Scott's."
"We were looking for a new breakfast place in Kansas City close to the Country Club Plaza area, and we decided to give "Snooze" a try. Certainly glad we did.Snooze has a bright artsy interior with individual tables and booths throughout. They've got a lovely bar from which they offer a host of breakfast drinks: Mimosas, Bloody Mary's, etc.... I was planning to try the Chilaquiles, but they were 86 for the day. I pivoted to my go-to breakfast at any new restaurant, corned beef hash, and eggs. Theirs was among the best I've ever had, and I've eaten hash and eggs all over the country. House-made corned beef, great seasoning with the potatoes, onions and peppers. I complemented it with a little Yellow Bird, a Serrano pepper, hot sauce, and it was absolutely perfect. My wife went with the Strawberry Shortcake Pancake with chicken sausage, and she said it was fantastic. Our server was courteous, very knowledgeable, and absolutely on point. In our short stay, my coffee was refilled three times, he checked up on our order, and really made sure we had a good experience. I can highly recommend Snooze for a just out of downtown KC breakfast/brunch stop!"

"Food was better than expected! & so many options! New fave spot. Ambiance was cool and server was attentive"
"No frills breakfast, brunch, lunch spot. Got brunch here prior to going back home to St. Louis. No issues, no complaints. Really good food, good service. Excellent amount of vegetarian/ vegan options. We got there just in time to be seated immediately on a Sunday around 10:30am. Highly recommend!"
"Nick and Jake's, I would like to send you a love letter...so, I will review instead. We are chronic DoorDash patrons, you are always hot, prepared well, large portioned, delicious comfort food.If I may suggest one tiny thing....please change up the menu, even one item, along with dessert. We have grown bored eating the exact same meals/desserts since Covid."
"Really nice little diner . I like that they make their own bread , they offer gluten free pancakes . The service was good . They use farm fresh eggs . You can tell by the color of the yolk they use good ingredients here . Thank you"
"We went here for a team brunch. The Manager was so helpful when I called to make a reservation. The service was fantastic and food was great!"
"Went here for our first breakfast in Lawrence and it did not disappoint. Portion sizes were very generous. Very much enjoyed the chorizo and egg entree. The honey brown latte was also yummy."
"We had fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy. Some of the best fried chicken I've had in KC. The meat was tender and juicy and the crust had just the right crunch and seasoning. We stopped in for lunch on Christmas Eve and were seated immediately. Great service and good food. The manager visited all the tables to check on everyone's meal and was friendly and personable. The ambiance was perfect for a Plaza restaurant, upscale but not fancy. Casual attire."
"Food is fresh, high quality and always delicious. The head Chef there is fantastic. Had brunch on Saturday and food was terrific, service great. The Chef sent out complimentary app & sweets for our table acknowledging our long time patronage to the restaurant, which was truly appreciated. Highly recommend the Breakfast Tacos, Guacamole and Avocado Toast. Honestly never had a bad meal here. Everything is delicious. We dove into our food immediately...this was the only picture I was able to get before these were gone in a flash too."
"Stopped in for lunch for the first time and was impressed. Good service and ambiance. I ordered the chicken sandwich and roasted potatoes and everything was delicious. Will definitely be back to try more."
"My favorite hole in the wall breakfast spot in KC!Their breakfast croissant is the best breakfast sandwich I have ever had. The croissant is the perfect combo of flaky and buttery, the eggs are well-seasoned, and the ham is juicy. I crave it on the daily! They also have delicious fresh pastries that sell out almost every day. I always snag one from the display case, especially a muffin. Another side I recommend is the breakfast potatoes. Great portion, good flavor, and served with sour cream. As a self-proclaimed French toast connoisseur, their French toast is tasty! It's a French toast bake, so it has a different consistency than your classic French toast. I personally don't prefer French toast casseroles, but this one was spongy, has good flavor, and the pecans are a great addition. The service is always friendly, albeit a little slow. You order at the counter and while there usually isn't a long line, there is only 1 register so if you come at a busy time, you may wait a while. I can't wait to come back and try the breakfast flatbread and a cinnamon roll!"

Nice little spot I'd heard about and been wanting to try for a while. I liked being able to sit outdoors even though it was pretty busy on a weekend.Great burnt ends. Brisket was fine, if a little dry. The gumbo had a flavor neither my friends nor I could place and we all found overwhelmingly weird (banana???). Cheesy potatoes were good.

we stopped by Eggtc. for kc restaurant week and will definitely be back! the vibes weren't like your standard hipster brunch place- it was much cozier than that. we both got specialty coffees (a honey creme latte and a mexican spiced mocha) which were both amazing. the coffees were definitely on the sweeter side, but not overwhelming, i found both to be perfect. everything came out very quickly. our pastries were warm and tasted very fresh. the caesar salad and cubano didn't stand out, but i recommend the shakshuka. the real cherry on top was our server kim, she handled our whole section with warmth and ease. she was fun to interact with, quick to answer our questions. highly recommend stopping by!

I was a regular customer at Cafe Berlin when I lived in Columbia and was excited to visit on a trip back - I loved it then and it's even better now! We stopped by for an early brunch and were seated quickly in their large dining space. The veggie scramble and breakfast burrito were both fantastic and the roasted potato side was a standout. The breakfast burrito had both regular and sweet potatoes - a delightful surprise! Definitely put this on your Columbia MO list!!

"The most amazing service and the BEST eggs Benedict I've ever had!!!!Ambiance is quaint and casual."
"We love tavern! We have been to both locations in prairie village and mission farms, but we definitely frequent the mission farms ones the most. Food is always delicious, and they are always changing up their menu rotation so there is always something new to try! It's a nice dim light setting in the restaurant, so it's easy on the eyes and not too bright. The service is typically great, there have only ever been a couple of times where the server or the staff bringing out the food weren't the best. Highly recommend their specialty cocktails and their calamari appetizer is one of our go to!"
"The food it Great and the Service and the Ambiance is really great as well. They sit you down at a seat like in like two seconds and you walk in you tell him how many people you have and they just give you your menu you look at it you just get it and then what you don't need is what you don't eat and then you could take it home if you are not finished with the food that you ate they're at BC Bistro and then you could probably get dessert. I don't know if they have, sir, but all I know that this place has gotten good reviews sometimes bad reviews I don't know but I would recommend everybody to try this place out. It's got really good food. It's got really good service. They say you gonna see and you just wait for your food. I don't think it takes a long time, but I did have to wait a long time but they bring you out your food. Your drinks that you want and then after you get after you want to get your train with your food or whatever you gotta get there and then after you get done eating, you can just do whatever you need to do and go back home chill and then if you get hungry later, you can eat your food that's what this place is all about you take your food to go and then you go home then if you want your food later, you can have your food later you know whatever you want to do With your Food That you ate before you got finished eating there Thanks that's all I have to say about this place :)"
"Sooo yummy. One of my favorite brunch spots!! The food is always good and the mimosas never disappoint!"
"Love this place! Small and unassuming but fabulous. Loved the crab eggs Benedict. I wish the potatoes were crispy but it was great! Bacon had a little rosemary so I wouldn't order it again but that is a personal preference. Love the small town atmosphere. Service was great."
"I've eaten at this location a few times. The aesthetic is fun with pops of color. I appreciate the coat hangers and vibe of the restaurant. I give 3 stars for 3 reasons:- There is no seating for waiting customers which is very unfair for elderly, pregnant, and disabled persons. Sometimes wait times are long if you haven't put yourself in the online waitlist. Be sure to check that before going in. - I ordered the new, recommended, Jalapeño & Cheddar omelette 3 days ago and my stomach has not recovered in the last 3 days. I'm Thai & Cambodian, I eat my fair share of spice. My stomach does not react to jalapeños and it has been awful. Nothing on the taste but more on the preparation. I'm curious on how an omelette, I didn't finish, would make me call out of work 5 hours early and keep me on a toilet for 3 days. - finally the service... maybe she was having a bad day, I get it, I work customer service in a deli. A smile is good for both sides, I'm not asking for ultra-passionate waiters or over enthusiastic people. I only mark this because of the contrasting warmth towards other families and a strange coldness to mine. She carried herself as someone who didn't want to be there and I understand, still, it's uncomfortable as a customer. I can manage a waiter with a sub-par attitude but only if it's fairly distributed, otherwise, I just feel unwelcome. No allergies, no special requests, easy orders, no screaming babies... even if she gave one smile after we ordered I would have felt less like an offender. Otherwise, I could have just made the omelette at home lol.No complaints from the rest of my party, things came out in time (I would of liked an update on my food when my family got their pancakes first and she didn't tell me if mine was on the way or even acknowledge me). Overall, it's a cute place and I would try this place again just off of the aesthetics and good prices. I'd probably order something completely different, put myself on the waitlist 15 minutes early, and hope for better customer service experience. Let's try again!"
"Friendly. Cozy. Healthy. Looking for a quaint spot to get a healthy meal or snack? Look no further. This is such a great gem in town. The staff here was so friendly and welcoming. The peanut butter protein rounds and avocado toast were so delicious. The Java Butter smoothie was a nice way to round everything out. The oatmeal was unique in a sense that it was not overwhelmingly sweet but had a lot of flavor. Nicely done, yall!"
"This restaurant is one of my mom's favorite places to get Vietnamese food. We love their sweet potato fries with shrimp and I enjoy their meatball pho. The food is always very tasty and the ambiance is very authentic. Service is very fast and everyone is so kind. Will absolutely be back!"
"The service and food are top notch! The second we walked in, we were made to feel at home and that welcoming spirit showed up in every interaction we had with everyone there. It's a family owned business that does everything from scratch and it shows with fresh flavors and plates prepared with heart and soul. These people are proud of what they have to offer and they should be - - we will be back for sure."
"TL;DR: If you love live music, especially 80s/90s and jazz, come by the Phoenix. Would highly recommend for fans of Green Lady looking for some place to grab a bite earlier in the day. The drinks are decent, the prices are reasonable, the portions are good, and the atmosphere makes up for everything else. The Phoenix is a bit off the beaten path and less well-known than Green Lady and Black Dolphin, but it has a strong history in Kansas City (it served illegal alcohol during the Prohibition) and still has a long list of regulars. This bar feels like a neighborhood joint but is very welcoming to newcomers. DRINKS I tend to get their cocktails--if you're looking for a lighter cocktail like I am, I'd recommend the Ride the Wave and Am I the Asshole. Ride the Wave tastes mostly like ginger beer, and Am I the Asshole is a lot of vanilla with notes of lemon and blueberry. They also have a solid pick of anything else you may be looking for. FOOD This is your standard bar fare. I've heard better things about the Phoenix's brunch, but don't come expecting anything outstanding. I would recommend the spin(ach) dip and get it with a side of fries. The fries aren't listed as their own side on the menu, but just ask the staff and they're super accommodating. MUSIC My friends and I came earlier in the evening and got to see Talya and her Boyfriends, who put on an amazing show. We loved the time here and will definitely be back!"
"Fantastic place. I absolutely love their specials they run. You have to try each one every month. Highly recommend the lunches."
"The Homesteader had been on my list for a LONG time, so when my family asked me to find a restaurant for brunch after the zoo run that could accomodate a big crowd and take a reservation this place was on my radar. I was really impressed because they could actually accommodate us. I needed to make a reservation for a Saturday morning for 10 and after some research I quickly found that most places either don't take weekend brunch reservations or don't take them online for more than 8. Honestly I get why and it's fair, but it limited us on where to go. I was insanely grateful that the Homesteader made this easy peasy for us to book. The run was on a stormy Saturday and as we all finished the race we realized the rain (and thunder, and lighting) was right on our heels! This changed our plans a bit as we had planned to hang out at the zoo for a bit longer and let the kiddos run around. Instead, we ran to our cars to avoid the thunderstorm! So, what did this do to our brunch plans? It made us about 30 minutes early. We decided to go and try our luck anyways. My parents made it there first and the Homesteader was super kind and had our table ready so we were able to sit down and eat a bit earlier than expected. Now to the restaurant (I know, you've waited long enough!). I would describe this place as a hyper local, cozy, breakfast and brunch cafe. It feels warm, welcoming, and like it's been around for a while when you come inside. The folks working were honestly some of the best I've ever encountered. SO friendly, so happy to answer questions, and so kind to my kid. Honestly, they really made our visit a great one. We all tried different things on the menu and everything from the cinnamon roll to the benedict was really good! There were some unique items on the menu, and even the coffee came out tasty, which was amazing when you've waited until 10 am for your first cup of the day. Overall I'd come back for sure. The food is very good, it might not be the absolute best in the city, but they make up for it with charm, some of the best staff in town, and a cozy neighborhood ambiance."
"The restaurant is very quaint, we had a party of 6 and were seated fairly quick on a Saturday morning. The food was fresh and hot. The seasonal menu had fabulous options, which we mainly chose. The waitress was very kind and friendly. Would definitely venture back to Ginger Sue's!"
"I think the strengths of this operation are the staff and the ambiance. That said, my wife and I both had good family style tasty food in a generous proportions. The decor is plain with the exception of the wall decorations. Like wall paper, there are frame pictures of many veterans (I can only assume locals) which is very patriotic and inspiring as well as many authentic newspaper front pages from important eras in American history (a nice touch). Lastly, the staff, even though quite busy, was attentive, cordial and efficient. You could tell they enjoyed what they did and that they like each other as they were always helping out one another.Oh, and don't forget the awesome iced cinnamon roll hot from the oven for every table, delicious!"
"This is my daughter's restaurant of choice for her Birthday. Ambiance is casual to fancy casual (as we call it). Service is very casual but we attribute that to the European vibe. We have only eaten on patio which is nice, especially when the weather is mild. The two times we have eaten here the food has been great. The French onion soup is wonderful. This year the family had two of the dinner specials and two of the regular dinner menu items. I had the Swordfish (dinner special) that came with a mango salsa, rice pilaf and greens. My husband had the Skirt steak (dinner special) with chimichurri, garlic mashed potatoes and greens. My son had the Duck leg confit DeCanard (reg. Menu) with a veal demiglace, garlic mash and a vegetable. My daughter had the Onglet grillé Au poivre (regular menu) grilled skirt steak with peppercorn sauce, salad and pommes frites. Everything was delightful as always."
"This restaurant is in The Ambassador Hotel in downtown Kansas City, MO. This is not your average "hotel restaurant" rather is a seriously elevated hotel dining experience!I came here several times during my 4 night stay, to enjoy wine at the bar, to enjoy a couple of amazing breakfasts, to enjoy dinner one evening, and to enjoy dessert on a different evening. The service by everyone I encountered was spot-on and very friendly. The venue is dimly lit and beautifully decorated, sort of art deco'ish. Their menus are great, lots of appetizing and eye-catching dishes on them! For breakfast, their American Reserve Breakfast is a knockout! The 6 grain toast is incredible!! They perfectly toast it on the flat top and then offer it up with some butter, which just really makes it taste even better! But those breakfast potatoes are insanely good! Probably the best breakfast potatoes I've had!! Soft, very flavorful, and slightly zesty and I love how they incorporate the diced onions and peppers in it, along with the seasoning. Eggs were always cooked just right! For dinner one evening I opted for soup and salad... both were made with very fresh ingredients and their house made smoked tomato vinaigrette was excellent. Their tomato bisque was very tasty! Save room for dessert, they make a great Crème Brûlée!They do offer a very nice wine and cocktail list as well. Definitely check ahead or make reservations. While I was there, they were completely packed over the weekend, but not so busy on the weeknights - Better safe than sorry. Highly recommend stopping in!!"

"Well we found a bit of doggie Heaven on earth here! Our dogs love to be able to run and play and we loved watching them while enjoying great food and drinks. (And so did the pups)If you want beverages and food while you watch your pups play, this is your ideal place to hang out. My pups enjoyed Turkey jerky and ice cream while my husband and I had some adult beverages and tried out the chicken salad sandwich and bar k burger. Both were really good. We can't wait to go back!"
"Here's the thing... when Jerry's is good, it is awesome. Breakfast, lunch -- both can be great .The consistency is the problem. If you order within an hour, hour and a half before they close? Good luck. Portions? Who knows. Sandwich grilling, fries completely cooked, cheese melted on your omelet -- it's a roll of the dice. So, we do love this place - sometimes."
"This is a black owned business. It's hard to enjoy their foods when they closes so early or keep their place open in a short time. But overall, their chicken wings are freshly made when ordered and their waffles are so soft and good. Have tried the other food on their menu but don't see myself coming back due to their opening hours."
"We had a great time here we got a nice muffin got some coffee. It was around Halloween. They had our Halloween decorations up, which we thought was awesome. Because Halloween is our favorite holiday and it was great to see. Prices were good. Food was good."
"I've eaten here twice in the last month. The creme brulee French toast and brown butter pancakes are my favorites ( carbs be damned when I eat here ). The bacon and eggs are cooked to perfection. The sticky duck wings have a great sweet and savory teriyaki taste. I just wish they came in a spicy variation. The food presentation is nothing short of exquisite. Service has been great both time's I've been here. The ambience is colorful, chic, eye catching. They celebrate local artists by having their art on display. A culinary gem in the heart of KC. Can't wait to go again!"
"Outstanding!!!Counter service and booth seating. Feels like you took a DeLorean back to the 50s. Omelettes are all egg (no filler) with perfectly grilled veggies etc. Come early on weekends if you don't want to join the masses waiting for their turn."
