With this in mind, we were genuinely curious whether their breakfast offerings would live up to the high standards we had come to expect.With great anticipation, we made the decision to try breakfast at Scott's, eager to uncover the delicious dishes they had crafted for the morning meal. Upon arrival, we decided to sample the biscuits and gravy as well as the burnt ends breakfast burrito, both of which were simply delicious! The biscuits were warm, fluffy, and perfectly paired with a rich, savory gravy that had just the right amount of seasoning. Meanwhile, the burnt ends breakfast burrito was a flavor-packed delight, featuring tender pieces of smoked meat wrapped with eggs and fresh ingredients, all enveloped in a warm tortilla.Additionally, we were fortunate to have Trisha as our server. Her kindness and genuine enthusiasm added to our experience, making the morning even more enjoyable. She was incredibly attentive and engaging, creating a welcoming atmosphere that made us feel right at home. Thank you, Trisha, for the excellent service! "We were looking for a new breakfast place in Kansas City close to the Country Club Plaza area, and we decided to give "Snooze" a try. Certainly glad we did.Snooze has a bright artsy interior with individual tables and booths throughout. They've got a lovely bar from which they offer a host of breakfast drinks: Mimosas, Bloody Mary's, etc.... I was planning to try the Chilaquiles, but they were 86 for the day. I pivoted to my go-to breakfast at any new restaurant, corned beef hash, and eggs. Theirs was among the best I've ever had, and I've eaten hash and eggs all over the country. House-made corned beef, great seasoning with the potatoes, onions and peppers. I complemented it with a little Yellow Bird, a Serrano pepper, hot sauce, and it was absolutely perfect.My wife went with the Strawberry Shortcake Pancake with chicken sausage, and she said it was fantastic.Our server was courteous, very knowledgeable, and absolutely on point. In our short stay, my coffee was refilled three times, he checked up on our order, and really made sure we had a good experience. I can highly recommend Snooze for a just out of downtown KC breakfast/brunch stop!"

"My favorite hole in the wall breakfast spot in KC!Their breakfast croissant is the best breakfast sandwich I have ever had. The croissant is the perfect combo of flaky and buttery, the eggs are well-seasoned, and the ham is juicy. I crave it on the daily! They also have delicious fresh pastries that sell out almost every day. I always snag one from the display case, especially a muffin. Another side I recommend is the breakfast potatoes. Great portion, good flavor, and served with sour cream. As a self-proclaimed French toast connoisseur, their French toast is tasty! It's a French toast bake, so it has a different consistency than your classic French toast. I personally don't prefer French toast casseroles, but this one was spongy, has good flavor, and the pecans are a great addition. The service is always friendly, albeit a little slow. You order at the counter and while there usually isn't a long line, there is only 1 register so if you come at a busy time, you may wait a while. I can't wait to come back and try the breakfast flatbread and a cinnamon roll!"

"We love tavern! We have been to both locations in prairie village and mission farms, but we definitely frequent the mission farms ones the most. Food is always delicious, and they are always changing up their menu rotation so there is always something new to try! It's a nice dim light setting in the restaurant, so it's easy on the eyes and not too bright. The service is typically great, there have only ever been a couple of times where the server or the staff bringing out the food weren't the best. Highly recommend their specialty cocktails and their calamari appetizer is one of our go to!"

They sit you down at a seat like in like two seconds and you walk in you tell him how many people you have and they just give you your menu you look at it you just get it and then what you don't need is what you don't eat and then you could take it home if you are not finished with the food that you ate they're at BC Bistro and then you could probably get dessert. I don't know if they have, sir, but all I know that this place has gotten good reviews sometimes bad reviews I don't know but I would recommend everybody to try this place out. It's got really good food. It's got really good service. They say you gonna see and you just wait for your food. I don't think it takes a long time, but I did have to wait a long time but they bring you out your food. Your drinks that you want and then after you get after you want to get your train with your food or whatever you gotta get there and then after you get done eating, you can just do whatever you need to do and go back home chill and then if you get hungry later, you can eat your food that's what this place is all about you take your food to go and then you go home then if you want your food later, you can have your food later you know whatever you want to do With your Food That you ate before you got finished eating there Thanks that's all I have to say about this place :)"

I give 3 stars for 3 reasons:- There is no seating for waiting customers which is very unfair for elderly, pregnant, and disabled persons. Sometimes wait times are long if you haven't put yourself in the online waitlist. Be sure to check that before going in. - I ordered the new, recommended, Jalapeño & Cheddar omelette 3 days ago and my stomach has not recovered in the last 3 days. I'm Thai & Cambodian, I eat my fair share of spice. My stomach does not react to jalapeños and it has been awful. Nothing on the taste but more on the preparation. I'm curious on how an omelette, I didn't finish, would make me call out of work 5 hours early and keep me on a toilet for 3 days. - finally the service... maybe she was having a bad day, I get it, I work customer service in a deli. A smile is good for both sides, I'm not asking for ultra-passionate waiters or over enthusiastic people. I only mark this because of the contrasting warmth towards other families and a strange coldness to mine. She carried herself as someone who didn't want to be there and I understand, still, it's uncomfortable as a customer. I can manage a waiter with a sub-par attitude but only if it's fairly distributed, otherwise, I just feel unwelcome. No allergies, no special requests, easy orders, no screaming babies... even if she gave one smile after we ordered I would have felt less like an offender. Otherwise, I could have just made the omelette at home lol.No complaints from the rest of my party, things came out in time (I would of liked an update on my food when my family got their pancakes first and she didn't tell me if mine was on the way or even acknowledge me). Overall, it's a cute place and I would try this place again just off of the aesthetics and good prices. I'd probably order something completely different, put myself on the waitlist 15 minutes early, and hope for better customer service experience. Let's try again!"

"TL;DR: If you love live music, especially 80s/90s and jazz, come by the Phoenix. Would highly recommend for fans of Green Lady looking for some place to grab a bite earlier in the day. The drinks are decent, the prices are reasonable, the portions are good, and the atmosphere makes up for everything else. The Phoenix is a bit off the beaten path and less well-known than Green Lady and Black Dolphin, but it has a strong history in Kansas City (it served illegal alcohol during the Prohibition) and still has a long list of regulars. This bar feels like a neighborhood joint but is very welcoming to newcomers. DRINKS I tend to get their cocktails--if you're looking for a lighter cocktail like I am, I'd recommend the Ride the Wave and Am I the Asshole. Ride the Wave tastes mostly like ginger beer, and Am I the Asshole is a lot of vanilla with notes of lemon and blueberry. They also have a solid pick of anything else you may be looking for. FOOD This is your standard bar fare. I've heard better things about the Phoenix's brunch, but don't come expecting anything outstanding. I would recommend the spin(ach) dip and get it with a side of fries. The fries aren't listed as their own side on the menu, but just ask the staff and they're super accommodating. MUSIC My friends and I came earlier in the evening and got to see Talya and her Boyfriends, who put on an amazing show. We loved the time here and will definitely be back!"

"The Homesteader had been on my list for a LONG time, so when my family asked me to find a restaurant for brunch after the zoo run that could accomodate a big crowd and take a reservation this place was on my radar. I was really impressed because they could actually accommodate us. I needed to make a reservation for a Saturday morning for 10 and after some research I quickly found that most places either don't take weekend brunch reservations or don't take them online for more than 8. Honestly I get why and it's fair, but it limited us on where to go. I was insanely grateful that the Homesteader made this easy peasy for us to book. The run was on a stormy Saturday and as we all finished the race we realized the rain (and thunder, and lighting) was right on our heels! This changed our plans a bit as we had planned to hang out at the zoo for a bit longer and let the kiddos run around. Instead, we ran to our cars to avoid the thunderstorm! So, what did this do to our brunch plans? It made us about 30 minutes early. We decided to go and try our luck anyways. My parents made it there first and the Homesteader was super kind and had our table ready so we were able to sit down and eat a bit earlier than expected. Now to the restaurant (I know, you've waited long enough!). I would describe this place as a hyper local, cozy, breakfast and brunch cafe. It feels warm, welcoming, and like it's been around for a while when you come inside. The folks working were honestly some of the best I've ever encountered. SO friendly, so happy to answer questions, and so kind to my kid. Honestly, they really made our visit a great one. We all tried different things on the menu and everything from the cinnamon roll to the benedict was really good! There were some unique items on the menu, and even the coffee came out tasty, which was amazing when you've waited until 10 am for your first cup of the day. Overall I'd come back for sure. The food is very good, it might not be the absolute best in the city, but they make up for it with charm, some of the best staff in town, and a cozy neighborhood ambiance."

We have only eaten on patio which is nice, especially when the weather is mild.The two times we have eaten here the food has been great. The French onion soup is wonderful. This year the family had two of the dinner specials and two of the regular dinner menu items. I had the Swordfish (dinner special) that came with a mango salsa, rice pilaf and greens. My husband had the Skirt steak (dinner special) with chimichurri, garlic mashed potatoes and greens.My son had the Duck leg confit DeCanard (reg. Menu) with a veal demiglace, garlic mash and a vegetable. My daughter had the Onglet grillé Au poivre (regular menu) grilled skirt steak with peppercorn sauce, salad and pommes frites. Everything was delightful as always."

They perfectly toast it on the flat top and then offer it up with some butter, which just really makes it taste even better! But those breakfast potatoes are insanely good! Probably the best breakfast potatoes I've had!! Soft, very flavorful, and slightly zesty and I love how they incorporate the diced onions and peppers in it, along with the seasoning. Eggs were always cooked just right!For dinner one evening I opted for soup and salad... both were made with very fresh ingredients and their house made smoked tomato vinaigrette was excellent. Their tomato bisque was very tasty! Save room for dessert, they make a great Crème Brûlée!They do offer a very nice wine and cocktail list as well. Definitely check ahead or make reservations.
