"As dedicated fans of Scott's, we have thoroughly enjoyed both lunch and dinner at this establishment on numerous occasions. This has instilled in us a sense of excitement as we looked forward to exploring their breakfast menu. Over our previous visits, we have consistently appreciated the diverse range of options and the delightful flavors that Scott's has to offer. With this in mind, we were genuinely curious whether their breakfast offerings would live up to the high standards we had come to expect. With great anticipation, we made the decision to try breakfast at Scott's, eager to uncover the delicious dishes they had crafted for the morning meal. Upon arrival, we decided to sample the biscuits and gravy as well as the burnt ends breakfast burrito, both of which were simply delicious! The biscuits were warm, fluffy, and perfectly paired with a rich, savory gravy that had just the right amount of seasoning. Meanwhile, the burnt ends breakfast burrito was a flavor-packed delight, featuring tender pieces of smoked meat wrapped with eggs and fresh ingredients, all enveloped in a warm tortilla.Additionally, we were fortunate to have Trisha as our server. Her kindness and genuine enthusiasm added to our experience, making the morning even more enjoyable. She was incredibly attentive and engaging, creating a welcoming atmosphere that made us feel right at home. Thank you, Trisha, for the excellent service! We left feeling satisfied and excited to return for another meal at Scott's."
"Food was delicious and portions so big we split a sandwich with small fries. I loved how the other customers helped us select something an how the counter person gave us a small containers of all the sauces they offered. Atmosphere was no nonsense."

"I've never been to Jack Stack before and my mother wanted to take me as she had gift cards. Upon arriving the smell of wonderful BBQ hits you before you reach the doors. The inside of the restaurant was nice (but the tables were a bit close together). I ordered the hickory chicken breast with asparagus, and it was amazing! The chicken was moist and delicious, and the asparagus was grilled. For dessert I had their brownie which came with chocolate ice cream. While it was okay-the carrot cake my mother ordered was far superior. The staff there were very attentive, fast, and efficient. As this was my first time I was impressed. If I'm ever craving BBQ-I'll be sure to head back over to this restaurant!"
"Me: Hey we're heading to A lil' BBQ Joint for dinner. Want to meet us?My friend: Sure, what's the name of the place?Me: A LIL' BBQ JOINT! A Little BBQ Joint displays decor that sets a down home tone for a barbecue outing. Don't come here looking for too many frills. The table tops were unique. Not something I had ever seen before, at least at our table. It was sort of a large shadow box with cars, sort of old school. The service was nice. Our servers were attentive and we didn't have to wait long for our order to be taken. While the food looked appetizing, flavors disappoint, save for standout fries. Overall, a mixed bag - with potential for improvement."
"Having visited the KCMO area over the years (our son moved down in June 2001 to take a promotion), we've had the pleasure of visiting several wonderful restaurants throughout the city and 'burbs. We have visited Jack Stack kore than once, but last night's experience was exceptional. Because of traffic conditions, we were forced to change our reservation not once but twice! The hostess was understanding and reassuring us there would be no trouble getting a table. We were seated promptly and our fantastic server, Emma, greeted us with a warm smile and pleasantries. Spit, spot. Drinks were served. Orders placed and the appetizer served. Our guests were wowed by the huge, uniformly sized DELICIOUS onion rings. And commented on the yummy horseradish sauce. The plates were presented next. Lovely plating! Bravo to the kitchen crew!!!Our guests were pleasantly impressed with the size of the restaurant, how busy it was for a Wednesday evening and tremendous service we the received. Emma was a ROCK STAR! We appreciated the attention to detail on food due to a couple of dietary concerns. Again, the kitchen staff exceeded our expectations. Many thanks. The place is well lit, comfortable, roomy seating. It's a bit loud for we old folks wearing hearing aids, but we managed just fine. You know we'll return. And hope to SOON!"
"Most BBQ places around Kansas only do Burnt Ends on special days. This place does it everyday. They have beef and pork Burnt Ends. They also have Briskets. They also have fall off the bone St Louis Ribs. They also have these melt in your mouthCornbread bites.Plus check out there Daily Specials. They have awesome drinks.Chk out the awesome kids meals.Bring the family for outdoor games. There easy to find right off the K-10 and De SotoExit."
"The food here was excellent. I enjoyed the smoked meatloaf, potato salad, beans, and bread pudding. Your basic bbq shack decor with some really cool murals and memorabilia. The service was excellent and I never had to wait for a drink refill. If you're visiting Kansas City this place is worth a try."
"Found this place on our road trip and it was delicious! It was so cute inside and the food was good! Definitely recommend if you are passing through!"
"I enjoy coming here when working close by to get their rib lunch. The service is always fast and friendly whether I'm at a table or the bar. The atmosphere has a sports bar feel but without the overwhelming loudness of a sports bar."
"I always get the Hawg Trough sampler and two sides to share. It gives you a sampler of pork, ham, brisket, ribs, turkey and sausage plus a side. I add one extra side and it's plenty for two people. Good smoked meat flavors. Beans are tasty . Everything is well flavored. Service is quick. I love the rustic look of the restaurant."
"We have been here several times and have yet to be disappointed. I try to get something different each time and i must say, everything has been wonderful. The X-Man sandwich has a wonderful flavor and is my favorite thing I have had. I also loved the Brisket Pad Thai. Just the right amount of spice...not near what a traditional Thai restaurant might be....probably a "mild +". Their appetizers we have had are excellent as well. The Brisket Rangoon is wonderful, crispy with plenty of brisket. I also love the Brisket Eggrolls and Thai Sausage Dumplings....sooo good. They have a full bar and offer specialty drinks as well.Give it a try if you like Thai food with a touch of BBQ!"
"My husband and I returned to the Bob-Be-Que Shack for an anniversary dinner, and we had a great meal!Sherry was once again our waitress, and once again went over and above. When I asked about vinegar for my spinach greens, she went to the pantry and found some apple cider vinegar for me. How sweet! She guided us through the menu (we were there early in the evening, and lunch was being served, along with dinner options, until 5 pm) and came back to check on us frequently. She was friendly and welcoming and made sure we enjoyed our meals. The food was DELICIOUS! I had the pulled pork Po' Boy sandwich, perfectly put together with coleslaw on the hoagie bun, and a side order of spinach greens, equally tasty. My husband had the burnt ends lunch special, which was yummy; he only wished the portion of meat was a little larger. He'll know next time to order the dinner portion.R. J.'s is cozy and hospitable, and we had a lovely time. Thank you for making our anniversary special!"

Nice little spot I'd heard about and been wanting to try for a while. I liked being able to sit outdoors even though it was pretty busy on a weekend.Great burnt ends. Brisket was fine, if a little dry. The gumbo had a flavor neither my friends nor I could place and we all found overwhelmingly weird (banana???). Cheesy potatoes were good.

Pigwich is a fantastic go-to spot for sandwich lovers in Kansas City, offering high-quality, locally-sourced meats served in a casual and unpretentious setting. Located within the Local Pig butcher shop, Pigwich specializes in gourmet sandwiches that highlight fresh, flavorful ingredients. The menu features a rotating selection of sandwiches, but the Pigwich (their signature sandwich with slow-roasted pork, slaw, and barbecue sauce) is a must-try. The combination of tender, flavorful pork and tangy slaw makes for a perfectly balanced sandwich. Other popular choices include their cheeseburger, which is juicy and full of flavor, and the banh mi, offering a deliciously spicy and fresh take on the Vietnamese classic. What sets Pigwich apart is the freshness of the ingredients. The meats are butchered on-site, ensuring a level of quality you can taste. The bread is also excellent, providing a perfect, soft-but-sturdy base for the generously portioned fillings.Service is fast and friendly, though seating is limited and mainly outdoors, so it's more of a grab-and-go or quick bite spot. During peak times, it can get a bit crowded, but the food is well worth the wait.Overall, Pigwich is a standout in Kansas City for anyone craving high-quality, flavor-packed sandwiches made with care and fresh ingredients. It's perfect for a quick, satisfying lunch or an easy dinner.

The food was good. The ambience is more cafeteria style than cozy upscale restaurant. Vinyl booths, weird half-glass dividers, just not commiserate with the price point.

I have been here a few times and always had a good time. The food is good and the service is good. Usually they have sports on the TVs and if you would like a different game they will change it for you.

This IS Kansas City Barbecue!A roadhouse with blues starting at 7pm. Picnic table seating or a covered patio. The walls and covered with music and murals. Our waitress was outstanding g giving us the best recommendations. The ham and turkey were so tender and full of flavor. The smoked meatloaf is mixed with brisket and full of smoky deliciousness with a light texture that is hard to define. My first visit to the city and this place hit the spot.I almost forgot! GET the bread pudding regular or fried, heck get one of each like we did. You will thank me.

"You can't go wrong with BBQ in KC. The food was good and this was the perfect spot downtown we could walk to. The only problem we had was when we walked in the entire place smelled like sewage. It was very off putting and I'm not sure if it was an off day but it smelt bad. We sat on the opposite side of the restaurant as the smell which seemed to help. My friend I went with is also gluten sensitive and they didn't have enough options for her. Overall, service was fine and I'd like to give it another shot to see if the smell is what was so off putting to me."
"Good Barbecue. Unexpected but pleasant - never would I have stopped in without YelpGreat burnt ends"
"Absolutely AMAZING dine-in experience! We enjoyed the burnt ends, pulled pork, brisket, and a half rack of ribs. The sides are also fantastic: potato salad, fries, Mac n cheese, and coleslaw. Definitely try all of the sauces, too! Thank you to our server Kendra for a great dinner and attentive service. We can't wait to come back!"
"Well the service is great, the BBQ could use some moisture. The BBQ sauce blows too. Potato sauce is boring.I have no idea why it's so dry, my burnt ends just couldn't chew. The ribs my husband had were pretty good. The onion rings were delicious. This location is a concrete jungle and you sit outside, there is a fence between you and you are sitting in a parking lot. I will pass on this place next time."
"We were welcomed by XXX, our server, as soon as we found our table and sat down. After reviewing the menu, we ordered the corn nuggets for our starter, Tea, and Lemonade. It was hard to determine what to order for lunch, but we decided on the Long End Ribs with fries and baked beans, Burnt Ends with baked beans, and Cole Slaw. The meat came out steaming, tender, and well-seasoned. The flavor was good."
"So grateful that this place reopened!!!! Friendly staff and delicious food! Everything is exactly the same as before! We will be back again soon!"
"My husbands work often went here for lunch, so knew we needed to give it a try! It's all you can imagine a typical American sports bar would be! Decent food, good drink menu, and sports paraphernalia all on the walls."
"Everything I got was delicious, except for the cornbread lol!The drinks are pricey and small but they are DELICIOUS. Free parking out front but it does get busy. The burnt ends were my favorite."
"I found the closest establishment that I was near craving some KC bar b que. Traveling from St. Louis I was craving some good bar b que. My origins are Texas and will always be a brisket fan. Saw that F325 had brisket burnt ends on menu and knew that's what I had to had. The first bite i was godsmacked. What a surprise coming from one bite. Once I jazzed it up a bit with their spicy sauce boy this plate did not take long to get demolished. Nice decor and presentation will have myself coming back again when I'm in the area. Here is a pic of my empty plate because it was too damn good to stop and take a pic lol. Come visit."
"I was in Lawrence visiting a friend and she recommended we come here for some amazing BBQ and boy, was she right! My friends and I each ordered a BBQ plate which comes with a choice of 2 meats and 2 sides. I went with ribs and burnt ends. *insert drooling emoji* For my sides, I chose the potato salad and fried pickles. The meat on the rib fell easily off the bone and there was plenty of meat. The burnt ends were so juicy and flavorful and the meat was not burnt to a crisp like other places who do burnt ends. My favorite was finding pieces that have some fat but weren't too fatty. The fried pickles were fried perfectly and that breading was *chefs kiss* delicious. I liked that the pickles were spears and despite getting our order to go, the breading was not soggy at all. The potato salad was so so and wouldn't order it again BUT I had a bite of a friends side of coleslaw and I was pleasantly surprised at the flavor! It isn't a mayo based coleslaw and would definitely recommend you go with that. They have also have a handful of different sauces you can get with your BBQ. I liked the hot BBQ sauce because it had spice but wasn't overpowering. You have to check them out if you're in the area."
"This isn't a place I go often, but it's a neat concept and one of the nicer places in the area. The food is good, and the service is always good. It's a great place for a date night and a unique foodie experience! Will be back!"
"Jazzy B's has some good bbq that everyone should try. The slow smoked meats have flavor that hits the tastebuds and you'll be coming back for more. I've had the ribs, chicken wings and don't forget the Jazzy fries with a special seasoning."
"Zarda BBQ is a great local eatery in the heart of Lenexa. They have an array of sauces that compliment their variety of meats. We are a fan of the sliced sausage and burnt ends. Their dining area is rustic and classic; a nice gathering place to enjoy Kansas City Barbecue."
"Choga is always a dinner treat! My friend introduced me a few years ago and I have been coming back consistently. They do prefer to call ahead or make a reservation when doing All You Can Eat but I had not known this, but they accommodated for us even though there were close to closing time! The staff was very friendly and prompt to grab our orders. Any of the marinated meats are delicious, my favorites are #2 and #9. So much flavor without being too overpowering. Also don't forget to get a steamed egg, so fluffy you'll want more."
"Such an incredibly wonderful experience here! Family owned and operated since 1934! Shayla was amazing, so knowledgeable and welcoming. My grandfather used to bring my Dad and my Uncle here when they were young, so it was such a wonderful surprise to be able to grab a sandwich here to take home to my dad for father's day."
"Had a huge family reunion dinner. Service and food was great! Brisket and bbq sauce was amazing!!!Highly recommend if you are ever in Topeka"
"Pretty darn tasty. The service was really good and the atmosphere was fairly chill and quiet. I ordered the pulled pork with the two sides. Decided on the broccoli salad which was dynamite. I also got the fried Mac n Cheese. Game changer. When it comes out, it straight up looks like a chicken patty. Lol. So delicious. I also suggest getting the banana pudding for desert. Two thumbs up."
"Ok, KC outsiders should probably not rate KC BBQ places but I give this a 4 of 5. Great service and the ribs were great but my idea of great is good rub and fall off the bone so mission accomplished. I dipped in the sauce which I thought was good. Sides were great, fries were insane...fresh and crispy. Only room for improvement is beer choice. My bud had the burnt ends, and he is local and the lasted 5 min. Minnesota BBQ guy approves"
"Hungry on Sunday mornings and afternoon. Stop and go here. Oh, Leavenworth, you've outdone yourself! The Suburban's Sunday brunch is a glorious symphony of sweet and savory, with every bite an orchestra of delight. The French toast, fluffy as a cloud and kissed with warm bourbon, melted on my tongue with a honeyed whisper. But then came the spicy and sweet fried chicken, a crispy carnival for my taste buds! The heat danced with the sugary glaze, a tango of tang and fire that left me wanting more. But the magic of The Suburban goes beyond the plate. The wait staff, like friendly brunch elves, flitted around with smiles and speedy refills. And the owner, a culinary conductor, checked in personally, ensuring every note of our experience was perfect. It's the kind of attention that makes you feel like family, welcomed with open arms and bottomless mimosas. So, Leavenworth, I tip my mimosa flute to you and The Suburban. Your Sunday brunch is a masterpiece, a delicious reminder that a perfect weekend starts with a symphony of crispy chicken, fluffy French toast, and smiles brighter than the Kansas sun.## Portuguese:Oh, Leavenworth, você se superou! O brunch de domingo do The Suburban é uma gloriosa sinfonia de doce e salgado, com cada mordida uma orquestra de prazer. A rabanada francesa, fofa como uma nuvem e beijada com bourbon quente, derreteu na minha língua com um sussurro de mel. Mas então veio o frango frito picante e doce, um carnaval crocante para minhas papilas gustativas! O calor dançou com o glaçúcar, um tango de aroma e fogo que me deixou querendo mais.Mas a magia do The Suburban vai além do prato. Obrigado me gente! Para bens por tudo!"
"I was visiting Emporia and of course I had to scout out the good local eateries. This place had good reviews and Yelp but I found it to be pretty average bbq. I'm from NC so I've had my share of good bbq but I suppose for a small town, it's not a great comparison. Reasonable prices and worth a shot if you're in town visiting but did not leave me with a wow factor"
"Johnny's has become very average over the last several years, they used to be quite good, but the key phrase here is "used to be". I don't know what has happened to change things, but the fact is he service was quite slow and that was just for starters.Having worked in restaurants as a teenager, a smile and attentiveness will help smooth things over, but apparently that rule is not taught here. we waited 20 minutes to get somebody to take our order and another 40 to receive it, then it was wrong. I looked at my buddy and said "Do you want to go through the ordering process again?" and he wasn't up for it, either..... about 15 minutes after this executive decision was made America's Sweetheart comes over and told us that we had the wrong food, in an accusatory tone. I told her that we'd been there an hour and we didn't feel like waiting. She looked pissed, but we managed to avoid arrest by the food police for "our" transgression. We left there with the thought that we will never be back, and that'll never happen again. BTW, we were there after the lunch rush, so this shouldn't have been a problem. And one rule about side dishes after lunch rush is to keep the stuff stirred, nobody really likes coagulated cheesy corn with a tough crust on top. And try to buy better ribs, people will pay more if the meat is top notch."
"Friendly place and variety of beers and barbecue near the cute downtown area of Liberty"
"I've wanted to try Big Daddy's BBQ for years. It's supposed to be one of the best BBQ restaurants in Missouri When we travel cross country, we always stop at the Garth Nature Area - there's great walking trails and a dog park, and Big Daddys is just a few blocks away. Somehow, I'm always in Columbia on Sunday or Monday when Big Daddys is closed, but this time, I made sure to be there on a Wednesday. I'm so glad we stopped in. I had chicken, which was good. Hubby had brisket, which was amazing. As soon as I saw the smoke-ring on the brisket, I knew he had won the day. For sides, we had baked beans and greens beans. Given the way the green beans were handled, slightly spicy, I would definitely try the collard greens next time. The staff was so friendly and one of the girls was singing songs as she was cleaning. It was a fun atmosphere."
