"Decent spot for coffee, breakfast and baked goods. Busy place and a bit loud, but welcoming. Has a back room with a firepit. The hash was decent but I think I'll try something different next time (probably one of the bfast sandwiches). Butter cake was okay, not the best. Coffee was on the sweeter side even with ordering half sweet, so keep that in mind when ordering. Would try again if meeting friends there."
"Went here for our first breakfast in Lawrence and it did not disappoint. Portion sizes were very generous. Very much enjoyed the chorizo and egg entree. The honey brown latte was also yummy."
"This needs to be your go to brunch spot. Tasty food, speedy service. Love the big community table in the middle."
"Breakfast sandwich is so good. Friendly, open and airy atmosphere! I need 85 characters so I'm writing a little more."
"My favorite cupcake shop! I have been a fan of this place for YEARS! Came back in town and literally ran (I thought they were about to close for the night lol) to get me a chocolate obsession cupcake. It brought back so many great memories of enjoying these when I was younger. These cupcakes are always fresh, moist, and not over the top with the sugar."
"Best in Gardner! Fantastic coffee, teas and food. Rivals the best in KS or anywhere! Friendly staff and exceptional service. Very popular meeting place for friends to meet and hang out. We love the crepes that are offered on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays."
"I decided to check out a bakery for something new and I found it! This bakery was quite intriguing with croissants, honey buns, sticky buns and creative ways on their items in store. I talked with the cashier and he was excited about the store, food, coffee and owner! Filled with knowledge and friendliness. The inside could take you back to an old school family owned bakery. Small and quaint! I love this place and will definitely be back to the ham , chorizo and biscuit and gravy croissants. Welcome to the neighborhood Blackhole Bakery!"
"Great coffee. Ambiance is nice. Several places to sit for privacy. Very friendly. Easy location"
"Myself and a couple of friends visited Bloom this week for the first time. How have I not been here before?!I ordered a California melt with turkey, bacon, and avocado. I can't even begin to tell you how good the bread itself was (I should have snapped a photo!!). It was delicious! We, also, tried the lemon tart, ooey gooey cookie, and crème brûlée. All amazing! I brought a strawberry cupcake home to my daughter who absolutely loved it. The frost was a buttercream that was heaven. If you are in the area, definitely stop in for some tasty treats! I'll be returning for breakfast next time ."
"The food here is sooooo good. Definitely is your local deli. I also got an Apple fritter, and a chocolate long John they were so soft and delicious."
"I was recently in Lawrence to visit my son who attends KU. I've been craving bakery quality dishes and live in a very small town that just doesn't have any good options. This place BLEW ME AWAY. I tried the lemon custard croissants, cherry danishes, and salted chocolate chip cookies. Everything was so buttery, flaky, salty, sweet!! The perfect mix. Their delicate laminated pastries are as good as anything I've ever tried and even as good as the little shop in Paris that has been the object of my affections since I visited many, many years ago. There's really no seating, it's a tiny space with some chair rails so don't go expecting a sit down experience. But do go expecting to taste the best pastries you've ever had! (Oh small side note, bathroom was pristine and so nice!) Apple Maps doesn't take you to the right location but google maps does."
"I was a fan of Mud Pie when they were located along 39th St. and while I've driven by this spot tons of times it took me forever to finally get here. I have to say I'm glad I stopped in as this is a delightful locally owned coffee shop right in my backyard! They still of course specialize in vegan goodies, and while I haven't yet indulged I'm sure they taste as great as they look. The coffees I've had have been good. One was exceptional so I'm definitely coming back for that again soon. The ambiance is also really nice. It may be located in a suburban strip mall, but the inside is just as funky and chill as it was on 39th st. I've worked here a few times now and it's a wonderful spot to have a meeting, or get some work done over a nice cup of joe."

Great little breakfast café! Another reviewer referred to it as an upscale Panera, which fits- it's got Roasterie café, yummy looking pastries, and delicious food- we both had the breakfast burrito and it was FABULOUS (the sausage chunks are plentiful & juicy!). Service was great. Atmosphere is peaceful with nice piano music. They are also *mostly* low waste for dining in- ceramic dishes and tea pot, glass water glasses. They did make my partner's iced coffee in a plastic cup (unnecessary since we were dining in), and the to-go cup for his second coffee was styrofoam. I'd love to see them make a switch to plastic-free/styrofoam-free alternatives. Otherwise... Great little gem of a place (just bring your own cup!).

I met up with a buddy to study at Heirloom Bakery & Hearth one weekend morning. It was busy but thankfully he had arrived early and was able to snag us a seat inside. On a good weather day, it would be a miracle to snag a patio seat though. Anyway, I woke up hungry that day so I tried their egg & cheese biscuit sandwich and a cold brew. It was heavenly. Now that I'm writing about it, I'm craving another one of those biscuits! A local breakfast must-have! Parking lot is small, you might have to street park!

I have been coming here anytime I need a sweet treat in the plaza. It's kind of tucked away in my opinion so you may not see it right away but once you find it, you might be hooked if you have a sweet tooth like me. They have lots of different flavors to choose from. I have had many of them at this point and you can't go wrong. They definitely taste as described in the name of the cupcake! I wish they were a little bit more dimensional in flavor but every cupcake has been consistent in sweetness, cake moistness, etc. I wish there was more of a seating area, but the space is pretty tight. There is usually always one staff member, but they aren't that busy when I go so it's easy to grab and go.

The cinnamon rolls here are baked fresh daily and so good . The shop itself has a relaxing vibe and friendly customer service. Since there are not many other local coffee spots to hang out , it does get a tiny bit competitive for a table , but nothing crazy . I tried the Irishman and my friend got a zebra . We both liked our drinks . I got mine with half the amount of pumpsOf sweetener and it was still pretty sweet. There was an odd moment of when I opened the cup at the end of my drink there were these chunky bits floating around . I didn't think much of it because I knew the milk and everything was fine since the coffee tasted good. I just found it a bit strange and wondered what they were . Maybe clumps of powder from the Irish cream mix not mixed fully ? I won't lose any sleepOver it haha , and would give this place another shot if I was staying in Kansas longer .

Run, don't walk here! And make sure to get here right as they open or you risk them running out of all the best stuff! Every once in a while you come across a hidden gem, and this bakery is it for sure. Imagine a beautiful Saturday morning, 7:50 AM (they open at 8) and a line of 30 or so people begins to form. That was here, pic for reference too. There is a cult following here and for good reason. I tried all the mochi donuts because why not- favs were the birthday cake and pistachio. Also had the palmier, ube tea cake, and cinnamon roll. Could've tried everything but will save for next time. Probably one of the best bakeries in KC and there are a lot of exceptional ones. Pro-tip, can call in order day before and walk right in to grab it already made up. Downside you don't get to look at all the goodies in the case. Final review: 5/5 stars

This place is a gem of a coffee shop in Gladstone! They have a small building with ample seating and a gallery attached to it. There are fresh and roasted beans, snacks, merch, and pastries that look absolutely phenomenal! Today I got the hot blueberry matcha (probably the highest quality you can get around here) and felt super energized by it! Not too sweet with excellent flavor. The service was top-tier and always friendly. Go try 'em out for your next drink break!

"We love Park Street! The owner Doug has always been an approachable, friendly guy. Park Street has the food and drink quality of a legit pastry bakery paired with the ambiance of a local gathering favorite. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, with a variety of small and large family sized tables. With cinnamon rolls as big as your face, cappuccinos to take you to Italy and their Saturday special: biscuits and gravy, you have GOT to check them out.Friendly service every time."
"Employees were friendly and quick! Their cookies are always delicious and I love that they rotate each week. I am a big fan of their mini cookies because I can get a variety. The only downside is the price, it was $15 for 6 small cookies. Due to the price, I rarely go here for myself. I do like to give them as bday or appreciation gifts as they are definitely a special treat!"
"If you are looking for something to fulfill the craving for your sweet tooth, look no further. Big Momma's has been around for years. The cinnamon rolls are to die for! When you place your order, they will ask if you want extra icing and/or if you want it warmed. O-M-Geeee! Wait until you get to your destination so that you can warm it up (no more than 30-40 seconds) and enjoy it alone or with a cold glass of milk. You will definitely feel guilty after eating it - then again, you may not.The sandwiches are Gi-gormous! I would order one meat to enjoy it, but if you are hungry and do not mind the condiments on the sides of your mouth, go for more than one meat, along with your toppings of choice. I promise that you will not be able to eat the entire sandwich. They have the following to add to your sandwich at no extra charge. You pick!Lettuce, tomato, onion, banana peppers, pickles, jalapenos, mayonnaise, mustard, dijon mustard, Desserts- Sweet potato bar- Lemon bar- Carrot cake- Lemon Round- Strawberry cake- German Chocolate cake- Scones- Cinnamon rolls- Mini Mamas (center of the cinnamon rolls - yum!)Lastly, they have homemade dinner rolls that you can order for your next meal to impress your friends and family. :-) The larger rolls are good to make your own homemade sandwiches. They taste better than the Hawaiian rolls."
"Coming to Ray's reminds me of getting donuts with my Dad as a child. Everything about Ray's is amazing. The staff is wonderful and accommodating and the donuts are fresh and delicious!!!"
"We stopped in here on a Sunday afternoon. I got a vanilla oat milk latte (yum) and "The Midwest" biscuits and gravy which comes served with potatoes and I opted for a side of the vegan sausage patty. My wife got "The Littlest Big Brunch" which consists of a tofu scramble, biscuit or toast, potatoes and a sausage patty.Everything (and I do mean EVERYTHING) was absolutely delicious. The food is made from scratch so it does take a little while to come out, but it's well worth the wait. Staff were friendly and attentive and kept our waters full. As a gluten glutton, I can't believe how flavorful all the GF options are. I love that everything here is vegan and gluten free. I will definitely dine here again!"
"THE BEST cookies. Crumbl has become quite a phenomenon in our area, and for good reason. The cookies are HUGE, the flavors are creative, and the service is always great. Pair all of that with cute little pink boxes and these cookies really are something special. You can order online easily, or pop in and order via a kiosk. The cookies are prepared fresh for you as you wait. They are frosted and decorated on the spot, and most are served warm. This is such a great concept, and I am so happy we have them in the KC area now."
"The most delicious cake in Kansas City.!! Professional Services and responsible.! I bought a cake from there before and I will continue.! Customers have the options to choose his and what they want in.!! Love it.!"
"They are patient and very helpful to assist in your choosing. Their selection is fantastic. Cakes are fresh, you can taste the quality of ingredients as well. Not the lard feeling you are left with in your mouth from other places that cut corners. You can tell they use butter. I brought a piece of cake home to share with my husband and when I rinsed the plates off in the sink it cleaned easily (indicating butter) as compared to a cake with lard in the frosting which would stay on the plate as a grease glob. Prices are fair. But be careful on the cookies. They are weighed out by the pound and that can quickly escalate. But that's on me. HIGHLY recommended."
"Nice small dessert shop with two types of noodles. The beef noodles soup is very flour full. Asian lady is making those wonderful desserts. I bought various cakes but did not take the photo. A few people came in for to go. It is about noon and Christmas Eve so, one cabinet is empty. You can order cakes as well. Nice small family business."
"It's hard to find a good sandwich in KC and this place does not disappoint. Having lived in Chicago makes me miss the deli experience. This has become my favorite spot, driving all the way from Midtown. I love the Club sandwich and they have a nice selection of donuts. Also burgers fries and malts."
"For the most delicious and perfect cakes, this is your place. I have been buying cakes here for years. They are always perfection. I offer them at my parties and special events and my guest always want to know where that fabulous cake came from."
"Small local business with friendly staff. There is no indoor seating, so we ended up taking our sandwiches to a nearby park, which on a nice day, works. For $22, we got 2 drinks, 2 good sized sandwiches, 2 chips and 2 desserts (cookie or donuts). Definitely a good value! The sandwiches were solid. Fresh ingredients and made well."
"We were not expecting this to be soooo good and we were shook! My partner and I were traveling through from Portland (you know how portlanders are about coffee), and decided to pre-order from Cellar Door for breakfast. I ordered a Bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich in a Za'atar bagel along with a rose cardamom latte. My partner got a bagel, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich on a dill bagel along with a toasted honey latte. Everything was so good and was ready when we got there (in a good way). The lattes were balanced and the flavors came through without overpowering the coffee and the bagel flavors were so interesting! I've never considered living in Kansas, but this breakfast made me rethink my life briefly. I didn't go in, but my partner also said it was super cute and everyone was friendly!"
"Peggy Jeans has never failed with me delicious and timely made pies! The service is generally always fast and friendly. The prices are fair as well for the quality"
"Main Street Coffee House was a relaxing spot for an afternoon coffee break. The friendly barista helped us decide on a treat from their seasonal menu. The Magically Delicious was a fun (and not super sweet) latte featuring Lucky Charm marshmallows!"
"All right, I feel the need to update my review after several trips here. I am going to knock it down a star, but that still means I enjoy it. The sandwich you choose really makes a difference here. The reuben is still, in my mind, very excellent. I should have just stuck to that - it's probably 4-5 stars. I have also had the club sandwich which is 2-3 stars. For $7 (with tax), you don't get much in the terms of meat or cheese. It's tasty, but not excellent. So it just doesn't seem to have the greatness that its price should warrant. I will keep going here from time to time as money allows, but will need to learn exactly what sandwiches to stick to. Some are great, some are just "meh". The service is still friendly, and the store is clean and nice. The little shop in the back has some neat stuff, but I still have not bought anything to explore how much I like it. One of these days..."
"Real French pastries! Le Petit Bon Bon is only open Friday-Sunday, so visiting requires some patience, but it is absolutely worth it. I picked up a butter croissant, pain au chocolate, and a strawberry croissant. They were all still warm from the oven & smelled divine. Buttery, flaky, and just the right amount of filling in the filled ones. I don't drink coffee much but it looked like they had a nice setup for pour over. The atmosphere is very casual, with an open kitchen & the gentleman who owns it doing duty as pastry chef & cashier. Can't wait to go back!"
"Big fan! I'll be back for sure. My wife and I are doing a "taco tour" of the kc k area cause we're street taco junkies Rayna's chicken tacos have flavor like you won't believe I'd like to eat them 2 at a time. I also had a spicy pork so good that it reminded me of the scene in what about bob where they're eating dinner and Bob (bill Murray) keeps making mmmmm mmmm noise after every bite."
"I stopped in on a whim. I had some business to take care of in Raytown. As I'm not normally and that part of Kansas City, I didn't know the bakery was there. The store is clean and very nicely decorated. Everything in the case looks amazing and a staff is very friendly, and helpful. I got a vanilla cupcake with vanilla icing. SO good! There is a small seating area so I was able to sit and enjoy my cupcake.Another customer asked about dairy-free options and I was happy to learn the cupcakes are dairy free and they can ice a cupcake with dairy-free icing upon request. Very good experience. I would go back to Raytown just for this place."
"Connies cookies always does a great job in my opinion! The cookies are never dry and the icing is good! I've had two custom orders in the past month and both times they've followed the instructions! I will definitely continue to order my cookies here."
"This charming little kitchen is a keepsake-find in our books! Looking for something unique and memorable for NewYear's breakfast after we slept through New Year's Eve, we were blown away with the variety and very appealing European-style buffet breakfast! The beautiful display of all their delectable, freshly home-baked goodies and other breakfast 'commoners', evoked a long-lost inner excitement to the foodie-me (never experienced before at other American breakfast restaurants)! All of us felt festive and intensely satisfied when leaving, since you get to browse through their little store for unique finds and sights of retail-therapy.Definitely worth the drive from Overland Park!"
"Stopped off to get a cupcake treat for a friend. Wow! So many cute cupcakes to choose from. The sales attendant was very sweet and helpful. She talked us through the selections available. She also steered us in the right direction. She made some very good recommendations and stayed within the price points. They had lemon cupcakes, birthday sprinkles, tons of chocolate and many other delicious and pretty selections. It was so difficult to choose. They also had cupcakes in a cup! There was a sale and I almost came out with 6 cupcakes instead of one. Lol. This store was easy access, too. There is a large private parking lot in front of the store which is located in a busy strip mall. Great selection, reasonable prices and friendly service. You won't be disappointed!"
"Curbside orders are always delivered in a timely fashion. The parking situation is sus though."
