"Let me start with the bad. The host/hostess needs some training. We went to breakfast on Sunday 6/5/22 and she could not manage the wait time and was totally overwhelmed. There were tons of tables and she had us waiting for 35 minutes. That is the only negative comment I will make about the restaurant. (This could also be a management/staffing issue. Now for the good the waitress we had was totally personable and on top of everything. She was quick to take our orders, our order came out correctly and our drinks never ran out. For a chain the food was excellent the biscuits and gravy were great and the skillet I ordered was a good amount of food and tasty."
"There's a reason why Kansas City is called Cowtown. We have some of the best steaks in the cosmos. If there's flesh of a dead cow on a menu, I'm apt to order it before anything else. (Yes, even skrimps.)Case in point, Scratch Gourmet Kitchen's Steak au Pavé, which caused me--briefly--to step outside my body in foodie ecstasy this weekend. In fact, I think it might be the best preparation in town--complete with its garlic cream demi-glace and perfectly executed, thinly sliced potato pavé. How good was it? I'm writing an entire Yelp post about this dish, for God's sake. And you're reading it. If you haven't been to this tiny-but-mighty, upscale eatery in a while, it's time. I'll join you."

"I came here as a large party and with a reservation. The restaurant was a low lit setting. Overall the atmosphere was great and cute.We started off with drinks and they were delicious. We had a mix of cocktails and mocktails and both were just as good. The food was good but I'd say it wasn't exceptional in any way. Our server told us they were shareable sizes but they were not. We were a bit disappointed when we got our food. However I give it 4 because the service and drinks were great."
"went to eat there and he ran out of food he came out and apologized to each vehicle said he got slammed at 2pm and ran out. will return to try for the first time some time and update the review"
"Having been here a few times now, I can say that I have not had anything on the menu that wasn't good!! There are several selections of pot pies to choose from depending on what filling you want. Be warned that these are large portions!! Staff is great with suggestions for both food and drink!"
"The food it Great and the Service and the Ambiance is really great as well. They sit you down at a seat like in like two seconds and you walk in you tell him how many people you have and they just give you your menu you look at it you just get it and then what you don't need is what you don't eat and then you could take it home if you are not finished with the food that you ate they're at BC Bistro and then you could probably get dessert. I don't know if they have, sir, but all I know that this place has gotten good reviews sometimes bad reviews I don't know but I would recommend everybody to try this place out. It's got really good food. It's got really good service. They say you gonna see and you just wait for your food. I don't think it takes a long time, but I did have to wait a long time but they bring you out your food. Your drinks that you want and then after you get after you want to get your train with your food or whatever you gotta get there and then after you get done eating, you can just do whatever you need to do and go back home chill and then if you get hungry later, you can eat your food that's what this place is all about you take your food to go and then you go home then if you want your food later, you can have your food later you know whatever you want to do With your Food That you ate before you got finished eating there Thanks that's all I have to say about this place :)"
"Looked so cool on the outside and wanted to try it. Order food for pick up, and they were ready when we got there. No wait time. Steak and eggs were bland, though. Steak tasted a little bit more burnt than usual. Maybe we'll try something else next time."
"I stopped here for breakfast to start my day because it was close to my hotel. It's a generic diner in a great location with some parking. The menu is normal except for the the Bob special. The decor is kitch with generic tables and chairs. The place is nothing fancy but it works. My service was off because I was forgotten about. Service was lacking but the food was great so no stars were harmed on this visit. Ok listen up people, the Bob special is very unique because it's a big biscuit topped with country fried steak, hash browns, scrambled eggs smothered in country gravy.OMG the Bob special looked amazing piping hot to my table. This was absolutely delicious by the way. The hash browns were golden crisp, the country fried steak was golden crispy and three times thicker than the crap in my city. The scrambled eggs were fluffy and the abundance of thick creamy country gravy like a volcano erupted on this mountain of food was so good.Overall this was a great choice for a breakfast spot and on my trips, I spend hours researching the area for the best possible restaurants and this one hit it out of the park, great job."
"I shouldn't be shocked because I've never had a bad experience at Red Robin, but this was particularly incredible. I can't believe how nice Manager Destiny and our server Lacey were. That's kind of attitude I love to see, especially when I'm traveling. My food was cooked to perfection and gave me exactly what I needed. Very clean, very inviting. Just wanted to say thank you for making my day. Cheers!"
"I come here specifically to eat, and the food is fantastic and extremely inexpensive. It's insane how much food you can get for $10 on Taco Tuesday.Like probably any other sports bar, this place has its own very specific demographic type of regulars. I do not belong to this demographic, but the two main bartenders (for the time of day I go in) are fantastic, remember me and what I like, and treat me well."
"Think of "Neighborhood Bar" - that dying breed of locally owned (usually family owned) restaurants/bars where being a "regular" is an earned status. Think Cheers without the neckties, and within driving distance before your air conditioning can cool off your car. That's WestSide. Located in a Lee's Summit strip mall, anchored by Big Lots and Starbucks, on MO 291, it's about as neighborhood as you can get. Why don't be surprised if the staff remembers your drink and maybe your food order by your third visit (your name might take a bit longer).Anyway, I have always gotten excellent and friendly service along with very good food. There are daily meal and drink specials. Any meal I have ever had that wasn't up to snuff was immediately taken back and replaced with whatever I actually ordered. Servers? Think "the girl next door, but with a smile and a good attitude." Parking is abundant with adequate handicap spaces near the door. It's well lit and has that safe suburban feel. Their prices are reasonable (even in our current economy), and the menu should cover most reasonable tastes, without being overwhelming. I now consider myself a regular (I did verify that status with both the bartenders and a server the other night). It's a friendly, comfortable place that's easy to relax in."
"Really great food. Lobby gets a little bit crowded but it well worth the wait. I would recommend it to anyone."

My wife and I celebrated our ninth anniversary with a fun, fancy dinner at Town Company and a stay at the adjoining Hotel Kansas City. Having heard of this spot since the early pandemic days, it's safe to say it's been high on our list for a while. For starters, they've dispelled the old trope that a hotel restaurant is never going to be all that good. This is quality, renowned chefs, and absolutely destination worthy no matter where it's located. If anything, the placement in the beautiful old Kansas City Club adds to the appeal. The atmosphere was ideal. It's much warmer and more inviting than some pictures led me to believe, and well decorated. It doesn't try to hard, and it's intimate without needing a flashlight to read the menu.I went in blind here, and barely even skimmed the menu. We went because of word of mouth, Yelp reviews, and sort of like a movie you know will be good, you just buckle up and go take it all in.For food, we tried an array of things and shared it all:-Hot Buns with carrot dip; well made and tasty, didn't really wow me but were good.-Cauliflower with harissa, pine nuts, prairie breeze cheddar; the most unique of all the dishes we tried, I enjoyed it. I don't know if I'd seek it out again but it was very flavorful.-Brussels sprouts; not finding this listed on their online menu so going off of memory, but they had some kind of aioli, apple, and crushed nuts on top. Maybe one of the best things we had, these were PHENOMENAL.-Potato dumplings wish mushrooms; they just transitioned to their fall menu and this had all the fall feels. This was the best thing we ate, the highlight of them all. It was like eating the feeling of warm coziness on the first real cold snap in November. I could eat this weekly in the fall/winter if my wallet would allow it.-Duck, grilled peaches, blistered shishito peppers; this was good and we ate it all, but not necessarily memorable. It's not that something was off, just that it felt like it was close to being really good but not quite there. -Lemon Cheesecake; blueberry, coconut, and macadamia. A bit of a surprise with the fall menu as this feels like a trip to the islands, but damn was it good. Very very small, but very very good.I was also blown away by how good my cocktail was. It's no longer listed and had equally tropical ingredients, but was not overly sweet at all and hit just perfectly. I don't drink much but this was up there as one of the best I've had in KC.Service was good, overall. Our server was very much someone who wanted to let us have our evening, which I appreciate. Nothing felt above and beyond, but nothing felt missed. So to sum it up, a very good meal with a few standouts. It wasn't all as mind-blowing as some dinners I've had, and felt a bit caught between the transition of the seasons (same, Town Co, same, it's been a warm fall). I would certainly go back, but with date nights being a rarity these days, we'll cycle through to some other KC highlights before returning.

If I could give them 10 stars off the customer service alone I would. Another 10 stars for the fish! It was phenomenal, everyone was asking where I got it from. We ordered a 50 piece fish and by the end of the function it was all GONE!We also ordered a 50 chicken and ya'll... just go get it.I can't wait to try their breakfast!! The prices were also very affordable.

This is a great little neighborhood bar. I came with a few friends who play darts here and I got to eat while they played. The server covered tables and the bar and kept up with all of it, even remembering who's on which tab. They don't have a lot of (trendy) hard liquor on hand, but that's because their typical patron isn't looking for that. They have your typical domestic beers and boulevard and KC Bier on tap. I ordered the fried pickle appetizer which was good. The pickles were crisp and the coating was crunchy. They have the GOOD ranch, if you know what I mean. Our table ended up ordering a second basket. For dinner I got their patty melt. The Burger was thicker than I expected and really good. The caramelized onions still had some crispness to them, which I appreciate, I hate overcooked onions. The only downside was the lack of any sauce, but I ended up dipping it in my ranch and that worked out for me. For the side they had several options and I went for the tater tots, which were perfectly fried. I'd come back.

It was busy the night we visited with my wife's sister and her husband, but we got in with maybe a 20 minute wait. My BC burger was great, and my bro-in-law enjoyed his ziti. My wife got a salad as she does everywhere and said it was good.An interesting place: wine recommendations with the entrees, and TVs on the wall showing sporting events. The staff was very friendly and the desserts excellent.

I was in Independence and needed breakfast on one of the last shopping days before Christmas 2023. The area was understandably busy and Black Bear Diner was shining like a beacon that morning. I knew it would be packed. I knew there would be a wait. But as I saw no other acceptable option in the immediate vicinity, AND I was in the company of an impatient spouse, Black Bear Diner was the place for me. We were even fortunate enough to snag the last open parking spot at the back of the building. Once inside and on the list it was really only about a 10-minute wait before we were seated in a comfortable booth in the kitschy mountain cabin atmosphere. Our server was a kind, chatty sort, who likely would've pulled up a chair if she'd had the time. I ordered French toast, 2 over-medium eggs, and link sausage. My husband had 2 over-easy eggs, hash browns, bacon, and one of their massive biscuits with gravy on the side. I know it sounds like a lot of food, but c'mon. It was the holidays. We had not one single complaint. Our order was swiftly delivered, well-prepared, and tasty. Black Bear Diner is a solid breakfast spot if you find yourself east of the Metro.

Basic old-school diner with an emphasis on breakfast. Yesterday was only my 3rd or so visit, which is odd since I used to live in the neighborhood. I was craving Biscuits and Gravy and ended up stopping here. The biscuits were very standard and cold and topped and although the gravy was hot and creamy, it lacked any substantial amount of meat crumbles. My side plate of hash browns were crispy. Service was efficient and pleasant but not very engaging. I love that these type of places exist and they serve a purpose, basic greasy food with a quick turn-around.

"Wow! We came here for brunch and we were wowed! The menu was small, but trust me it doesn't need to have anything else on the menu. There were four of us and we all shared our meal. The. Best. Biscuits. And. Gravy. Ever!Next time I'm in Columbia, I'll be coming back!"
"For a dive bar it doesn't get any better. Great service and tasty bar food at super affordable prices. Check out the daily specials on their Facebook page. Will have to come on a Thursday to try that burnt ends grilled cheese.Blindfolded I couldn't tell the difference between these and the boneless wings at over at Applebee's (which are so much more $$$). Came on a Sunday around lunch time and will have to come back to check out the drinks and karaoke. I'm a sucker for a blue lagoon and some Shania Twain. Jukebox, pool table, claw machine, a huge flamingo standee... And a spot waiting for you!"
"It was 3-ish on a Saturday afternoon. My ragamuffin, Ipo was next door at the spa (Woofgang's) and I had an hour and half to kill. Didn't want to drive anywhere because the construction and roads were crazy. I wandered into Ironhorse. It was mostly empty but they had a sign to wait to be seated (I'm guessing short-handed). I was greeted almost immediately and shown to a table. I just wanted a smallnibble so I ordered a short glass of Pinot Noir and the queso and chips. The service good, the waitstaff was nice. The food. It's a bar snack, so not particularly impressive. The house Pinot was better than I'd been expecting. If I find myself in the area again, I'd drop in again."
"Tried it for the first time. Single burger was a good size.. fresh ingredients and everything was made the way it was suppose to be. Only thing missing was some kind of special sauce to make the burger different.."
"This joint, is seriously on the middle of nowhere. The only fast food game in town, we decided to stop for a quick break. We didn't expect much, but oh, my, God, what a surprise!! My monstrous pork tenderloin was delicious, juicy and seasoned perfectly. My husband's burger looked and tasted handmade (A+) and the fries were fat, hot and crispy....just like this girl. Great mom and pop joint, customer service was okay, not overly friendly, but def competent."
"I had the beef sliders and they were very good! The little corn dog appetizers were perfect football watching food! The sweet potato fries were some of the best I've had! The only problem was I didn't get one slider but that is the only criticism! I'd highly recommend this place for above average bar food!"
"Maybe I just haven't been to this location in awhile but man this place gotten better over the years! First of all nothing can beat the honey butter croissants, they were sooooo good and always served hot!I ordered a sirloin medium rare and it did come out more on the rare side, however that being said its not a steakhouse so overall if you lower your expectations before coming here the food will be outstanding!I will be back in the near future!"
"This place is great. I love everything about it. I love the quaintness and the historic nature of the diner. The food was excellent. My eggs, ham, and hash browns were as good as you can ask for. The staff was excellent as well. It definitely is a local place that everyone should visit. I will be back on my next visit to the Elms."
"A pretty standard chain restaurant, but the quality of food is good and pretty consistent. The best option for a decent Philly cheesesteak in town."
"Havent yet tried the dine-in experience. But take out has been a success. Orange chicken, fried rice, shrimp w/ garlic sauce, lo mein and donuts. Delicious. Thank you for a tasty dinner i didnt have to worry about cooking myself. Staff greeted me when i walked in and quickly came over to assist me with my to-go order. Chop sticks upon request. and they included plenty of soy sauce packets and 4 fortune cookies. Inside appeared clean. there were several tables full of diners enjoying their meals. Extra parking in back. they are closed on Tuesdays i believe. My son said the garlic shrimp was very spicy but good. everything else i tried myself and found to be very good. was still hot when i got home. packaged properly for transport as well."
"I had higher expectations for the food since I've been to the one in Overland Park. The bread was not toasted and the cheese was a dollop (not evenly spread) making each bite a little soggy and surprise of cheese or not. I asked for a medium patty but it looks to be more well done. Overall, for a restaurant that's located in a grocery store, it was okay. There is tons of space inside for you to sit inside and it was not busy at all. So, ordering was done easily at the counter and they bring the food out fairly quickly. But the quality of the food was poor, which brought the experience lower. On the plus side, we were able to go grocery shopping after with a full stomach."
"Great food, large portions never had a bad meal here good service by the interior in the dark wood nice sophisticated"
"Great home style food, good portions and a fabulous price. Family owned and run. Best breakfast and lunch in town."
"Always able to expect delicious food & friendly service at Red Door! Their menu has a variety of options but it's not excessive with how many options are available. They offer different specials each night. You can't really go wrong with anything! Brunch is so tasty. My daughter was able to order a waffle that wasn't listed on the menu which was very convenient. It came with what I think was maple butter. So good! Service is always efficient, even with larger groups. Really glad we have this in liberty!"
"Stopped in here for breakfast, and were very happy! Excellent service. One gal was waiting tables for the whole restaurant and was friendly & prompt still. Food came out quickly, and everything was great! I had a pancake (huge!) and split a mess with my husband. He also got an order of French toast that was scrumptious. Dad got the chicken fried steak meal with taters & gravy, and mom had the pork tenderloin. Everything was awesome! Prices on the menu include tax too, which was nice. The bar wasn't open when we were there, but I hear they've got great drink specials. Will check it out next time we're in town!"
"Lunch has been spotty at times from a good standpoint, but dinner is always great! Lots of good options and the kids love their Austin's mac and cheese. I'm a big fan of the burgers and have been surprised by their steaks as well!"
"Just back from a traveling vacation trip. While driving down the highway saw a sign advertising a Pork Tenderloin sandwich. After doing some research we found out the Saint Joseph's is the pork tenderloin capital of the US. Used yelp to help us pick out a place and landed at Pappy's. They have a fairly big menu with lots of good sounding items, however had to focus on the tenderloin sandwich. It was wonderful. Some places have a huge piece of pork, however, to make that they pound it really thin. Not here. Pappy;s tenderloin is served on a great roll. It is bigger than the roll but does not cover the plate. It is just the right size. It was extremely juicy. Good thickness. Coating is just right. Was a great sandwich. It comes with a side. They have a lot of sides to pick from, like 3 types of fries. I went with the crinkle cut. They were nicely cooked and had a good crunch. What a small, wonderful place. The people who work there are extremely friendly and helpful. This is a great neighborhood place.I highly recommend it."
"Great atmosphere! Good food! Nice people! Stop in, have some drinks and play pool! Expect live music! Lots of events planned. Update-just had the most amazing burger here! All food is fresh, and u can tell!"
"We had a great time here we got a nice muffin got some coffee. It was around Halloween. They had our Halloween decorations up, which we thought was awesome. Because Halloween is our favorite holiday and it was great to see. Prices were good. Food was good."
"Bacon jam burger was really tasty. Onion rings on the burger were crispy and tasty. My only complaints were that the Jalapeños tasted and looked bottled, and the bottom bun was pretty soggy.Service was a little shaky, but I wasn't too bothered by it. Food came out fast.I enjoyed having live music. There was atmospheric lighting, but it was still bright enough to see."
"3.5 stars. OK, when you come to eat here, you need to understand what you're getting yourself into. No, you are not pilgrimaging here for a transformational culinary journey, but you need a hot, satisfying bite of food before you call it a night. It's a large restaurant inside Four Points, and everything is reasonably priced. There are nightly food specials for 10 bucks and pints for $5/6. I had the Philly cheesesteak, which was greasy and hot. The fries are double battered and come out crisp and screaming hot. Honestly, that's all I could ask for in a small hotel restaurant.Breakfast buffet is $13, and I had a Bonvoy free breakfast coupon. Instead, if I was you, I would walk to Scott's Hangar a few doors down and get some barbecue in my breakfast. Breakfast options are bountiful enough. They do make breakfast sandwiches to order, and that came out hot and fresh. Standard waffle maker, cereals in individual bowls, plenty of good bacon, anemic biscuits, and gloppy thick gravy.Food came out hot and enjoyable, can't ask for much more than that on a short stopover. Staff was great on both of visits. Make sure you take care of them too, they were working hard."
"Throw back cafe/diner that delivered a GREAT double cheeseburger. Loved the special sauce mixed with DICED lettuce, great cheese and fresh tomato & pickle. The bun just became part of the burger. Ordered a bowl of chili on the side and it was exactly what you would expect-hearty with some spice and good ground beef. Definitely stop in if you haven't."
"Full disclosure - The Wagon Wheel Steakhouse is owned and operated by a high school friend so you may think my review could be biased. But as a Yelp Elite, I need to keep it real. And Wagon Wheel is definitely real.Anyone that knows me is aware that I'm a comfort food aficionado. If it's hot, fried, salty, covered in gravy - then most likely I will enjoy it. My tastebuds were thrilled to discover that Wagon Wheel Steakhouse serves the mother lode of comfort food. The first thing you'll notice when you see the servers carrying plates past your table to deliver to other customers is that everything, and I mean virtually everything, is made in house. The regular fries and the curly cue fries are fresh cut. They offer crinkle cut fries too like you can get in some fast food restaurants, but why would you order that when you can get fresh cut? The chicken fried chicken, chicken fried steak, the pork tenderloins are all hand breaded and fried in the kitchen. Wagon Wheel doesn't serve pre-cut and pre-fried fritters, no sir. As you can see in my picture, my pork tenderloin sandwich was twice the size of the bun, so I cut it in half and took the rest home to eat later - this made my dinner both tasty and cheap as I received two meals for the price of one. There is a small but sufficient fresh salad bar available as well as homemade pie for dessert. A full bar is to the right of the entrance and there are new flat screen TVs all around the dining room. A friend told me Wagon Wheel serves her favorite fried mushrooms and others told me their hamburgers are some of the best around - I can't wait to return and try these, as well as their steaks. When you visit, say hello to my friend the owner Linda Jo. Although she may not be easy to find as she personally spends a great deal of time in the kitchen cooking the food herself. I think you'll agree, her hands-on approach makes the difference at Wagon Wheel."
