We had a lot of fun here while visiting Kansas City. The bar tender was super friendly and we met some really nice people. The drinks were also super reasonably priced, especially coming from Boston. Worth a visit if you're in the area!

One of my favorite KC bars! Buzzard Beach is usually my suggestion whenever someone wants to go to Westport. Good drinks, fun atmosphere, and shuffleboard. The bar staff is always friendly and treat you like a regular. Though I don't typically enjoy the "Westport vibe," Buzzard Beach is always an exception in my book!

This place rules. Katie is great and keeps everything running smoothly and safely. I love coming here whenever I am in town, service is consistent, friendly, and the drinks are strong! Patio in winter time is sealed off and has overhead heating so you can go anytime

The male bartender with long hair was a dick. Couldn't multitask at all and yelled at customers when trying to order shots. I tried to order a beer and he got mad at me and raised his voice. 0/10 recommend this bar when this man is working. Their management should reevaluate who they put as their face of the bar when it's just him because I will never give him service again. 10/11/20 8:52 pm visit. not a fan

This bar reminds me of the bar from the Jodie Foster film, "The Accused". It was a typical bar that has PBR on tap. Cheap beer for sure and it's a small bar so don't bring too many of your friends here. Many old school pinball machines to choose from and a pool table. It was simply OK.

A staple for the Westport area! I've been meeting up with friends here for close to 7 years now and it's the only choice for us if we're in the area. The grungy dive bar feel makes it inviting and laid back. Bartenders are helpful and always down to joke around. The wait staff/bar backs are amazing at making sure empty glasses are cleared and drink orders are taken. Your glass will never be empty here. The bathrooms offer great reading material also so that's a bonus. Downstairs there is a Touch Tunes for music, pool tables (not free), arcade games, and a shuffle board. Darts can be found upstairs- can't forget those. All in all, I think if you're into a full dive bar experience with a chill atmosphere this is the place for you.

I've hung out downstairs so this is where I'm focusing. Rainy Thursday night - We found 2 stools at the bar easily and an American Spirit girl offer me 2 packs for $2. There are plenty of games to keep buzzed people entertained. Smoking areas outside are a convenient distance away. The upstairs looked spacious. I'd like to come back and check out that. I didn't know if the bartender would be rude to us since dives can go either way and we're from out of town. He was nothing but nice and even tried to find the channel of the Penguins game for my friend. If you're in that mood, you can't do better than the beach. It's dark. There's wood everywhere. And it creaks. And it smells. It's kind of like a pirate ship! You get cheap drinks and a jagged atmosphere. This place has it in spades.

We love Buzzard Beach! It's our favorite Westport stop! It's pretty rough around the edges, but that's what makes it fun. Don't expect nice tables and super clean bathrooms. Most surfaces have been sharpied. We went here after the Brew At the Zoo event. We both had the hiccups and the waitress gave us her own remedy of a lime wedge and something else. My hiccups went away right away! We love buzzard beach!

I hadn't gone here much at all and then I was here a bunch for Westport Roots Fest last weekend. First, cheap drinks. That's a real bonus. It has a real laid back vibe and lots of sitting room. Killer patio. Definitely enjoyed that. I was not a fan of their sound system. Again, I was there a bunch for the music festival and I have to say, I was not impressed. I actually saw a singer preform here and I didn't like her much at all and then I saw her the next day at a different venue and I loved her! I realized it was just the muffled sound from Buzzard that made me think I didn't like her music. I also saw Good Time Charley (whom I love) at this venue and did not care for the sound at all. So there's that. In short, this is a laid back dive bar in the heart of Westport with cheap drinks and easy access to food (Eat Me!!). I wouldn't see a show here, though.
