I would highly recommend Brookridge Day School to family in need of Preschool-3rd grade education for their children. The kind women who work there greet every day with passion and love for their work! Brookridge has two great playgrounds, a full library, holiday festivities, and a chef who makes amazing food!Their curriculum engages the students of all ages. The children that I met that had attended this school for many years were all bright, polite, and caring. When I have kids, I know where to go

Brookridge Day School is a private Preschool - 3rd Grade elementary in central Overland Park. My son just finished 3rd grade here and I would make the same decision to send him here again for elementary school. It's not cheap, $10K/Yr for tuition and incidentals . The administration, staff and teachers have a true love for teaching children. The curriculum focuses on core academics and personal responsibility. I am amazed at the mature behaviors displayed by small children in understanding concepts such as fairness, bullying, coping with adversity, etc....Many times I have heard my son talk about a troubling issue and then say he just had to determine how to deal with it. He didn't complain that is was unfair or wrong, he just accepted the situation and decided to move forward. I give credit to the emphasis on personal accountability that Brookridge brings to their curriculum.I manage 50 year old professionals that have less mature coping skills!Brookridge has achieved 100% attainment of academic standard each year that such a thing has been measured. Dr Brown and her staff display the patience of saints and the determination of yeomen; they tackle a tough job with a smile and a hug for each child. I witnessed nearly 100 children aged 4-9 stage a 2 hour complex, choreographed musical performance yesterday. I witnessed dozens of solo performances, mass choreography and 3rd graders giving presentations to 200+ parents summarizing the events of the school year. I can not fathom the amount of preparation that is required to stage such as event.Bottom line, Brookridge is a great place that is focused on holistically educating and preparing your child for life...

Both of my children attended Brookridge Day School. They left the school confident individuals who have good work effort, public speaking skills, and a deep desire to help others. I contribute these skills to their early education at Brookridge.

They are not teaching the kids to the level the say, their staff is under qualified and they are not properly vetting teachers during their staff shortage. Their turnover is sky high and they lose entire classrooms of teachers in the middle of the school year who complain of being unsupported. the staff seem to hate the parents and straight up lie to them. it obvious which kids they don't like becuase your kids come home talking about how much the teacher yells at certain kids. We did Not return becuase we felt it Was unsafe. it's 16000+ a year but only for some. if you hold out they discount the tuition because they don't seem to hit their enrollment goal.

This school really took an interest in my child. He was difficult at times, but the principal, Mrs Brown, stood up for him. She was his life line. I will be eternally grateful to her. He is now 18 years old and still talks about Mrs. Brown and Ms. Shonkwiler. You could not find a better place for your child. These are true educators. Deborah Davis

Such a great school, no other ones like it! We've moved from places to places so I have had a lot of comparisons. There's so much care and support from Principal, to all the teachers and administrative staff. Both my son and daughter had such fond memories from going there, my son went through 3 years of BD, it's the only school he asked me not to pick him up too early. And my daughter was only 3 , we moved after she turned 4 and she still remembers the kind teacher who taught her, Mrs G. that says something. The school fosters character development, confidence, individuality, my son was never afraid to raise his hands to speak up during the years there, and he is a very shy person. After we moved away, I appreciated this school even more.
