Delicious wine, sweet people and a beautiful sunset. It doesn't get better than this! I learned a lot about grapes from France and learned I have a new favorite red- Chambourcin. If you like sweet wine, try the blush is a natural sweetness that is very refreshing. Thank you Pep and Nancy for a great experience. PS they have an AirB&B with a rooftop deck if you want a more private experience.

What a hidden gem in Douglas County! I will preface this review by saying I am not much of a wine drinker. I loved this quaint place, though. I was here because of a holiday party given by a volunteer organization I work with in the area. The organization is Loving Paws and we provide therapy dogs for the community. The cool thing about Bluejacket is they let us bring our dogs. So we had a HOWL-a-day party here. The vineyard is easy to find. It's in a rural part of the county and you have to go down some dirt roads but it was easy to find. There is plenty of signage to guide you, as well. It is just a lovely setting. Beautiful grounds and everything has been carefully crafted. The main building is for tastings and gatherings. There was a roaring fire and comfy chairs in the main area when you walk inside. It is a large one room structure. To the right is the service area where you order your wine. To the left is seating area and plenty of tables and chairs. The wine flight list was extensive. The proprietor was very warm and informative. She led us through the flight choices and gave us background on the vineyard. It is a family venture which makes it even more cozy, there are many, many delicious wine choices. There was one I tried which was award winning. It was a Seyval, I think. Simply delicious! The proprietor answered all our questions and was very knowledgeable. She made the experience very nice. The prices on the wines were reasonable, too. Lovely venue, great experience and I will definitely be back. Highly recommended!

Stopped by Blue Jacket on our way home from Lawrence. They were incredibly kind. We had two flights and got to try a bunch of their wines. They had a huge variety. Unfortunately, I didn't love the wines. We each found one we liked for a glass. It was fun hanging out for a while.

Exceptionally nice facilities for the winery that include a tasting room that is large enough to serve as an event space, and apparently does so on a regular basis. Unlike some wineries in Kansas you visit the grapes pretty much come right up to the facility which is a nice touch. And, are you sitting down wine snobs? Their wines are quite fine. I said it, good wine from Kansas grapes. Particularly the Nortons and Norton blends, possibly due to the fact the Norton is a grape native to the state. The staff here is also first rate and on my visit to a special weekend it was a great atmosphere and lots of visitors. This is a real gem totally hidden away down a country road but well worth the effort to get to.

My girlfriends and I absolutely love this place! The ladies who work there are so incredibly nice and helpful, and the view is beautiful. We like to visit when the weather is nice and bring food, sit outside and enjoy some sunshine while playing games and sipping on wine. It's also good for wintertime, the fireplace inside keeps everything nice and cozy and they're always accommodating. I recommend the Betty's Blush or Shady Betty! Yum!

Wow was I impressed with this little winery! We were a little worried when we showed up since it was completely empty, quite small, and in the middle of nowhere, but there is absolutely nothing to be worried about. You are in expert hands here at Blue Jacket. Not only did we love their wine, but the woman who generously served us some tastes of the wine was awesome. She told us a ton of information on their wines and how they got into making wine, and was very personable and fun while doing so. What impressed me more than anything was how they incorporated much more into the experience than just tasting wine. They had us sample certain foods with some of the wines and showed us how different the wines taste with each pairing. They also gave out a free recipe for Sangria that is made with their wine and a recipe for "hot spiced wine" that is awesome and is apparently very popular in Europe. How awesome! I can't wait to make them both! They definitely won me over at Blue Jacket and I proved it by walking away with 3 bottles of their wine! They are a must try!

My first impression of this winery was that it was cute but the way they do tastings is one of my least favorite. My group was combined of sweet and dry drinkers, but we had to taste the same wines and got limited to (I believe) 6 wines. Once we got going, the lady doing our tasting started having fun and we did too. This is one of the first wineries were my first impression changed after spending some time there. Now, I would go back anytime and enjoy the great wine they have!

Very nice tasting room and the folks manning the tasting room are very kind and knowledgeable. I'm not a big white wine fan but they had a few nice ones.

Found this little gem while out and about with my Bestie...now found my favorite wine. Betty's Blush is a must try for those that like a sweeter wine.

The wine was pretty good but the servers seemed annoyed we had a group of 14 people and were not very nice. They are also false advertising because their tasting menu clearly states "tasting fee is waived when you purchase a bottle of wine", after the entire party purchased a bottle of wine they told us we still had to pay the fee. I thought that was ridiculous since that's the only reason I decided to buy a bottle!
