My husband and I ventured to Kansas City this weekend and came upon this cool bar. It's relatively new and everything feels fresh and clean. It's uniquely decorated and has a speakeasy sports bar vibe. They offer plenty of beer and liquor. It's dog friendly which was on our list for the day because Scout came along, lucky us. Our bartender Sydney was friendly, swift with our drinks and her dog Kelce was there to greet us too. It's a great neighborhood bar and it's also right outside of the CITY MARKET totally worth a stop in for a beer or cocktail. There is an outside patio if you prefer to sit outdoors.

My friends and I stopped in here for a drink after having dinner nearby. Apparently Tuesday night is karaoke night. There were maybe 20 people in the entire bar. My friend ordered a premade coffee martini that was on tap, I ordered a whiskey diet and my other friend got a bottled beer. The bartender wasn't super friendly but did his job adequately. The crowd in here was kind of random. It was full of mostly 20-somethings but various ages were represented. Nobody seemed too interested in actually performing karaoke, but the music was on full blast. Even when nobody was singing, I couldn't have a conversation with my friends because it was so loud. I think in the 30 or so minutes we were there, maybe two songs were sung. Everyone just kind of seemed checked out. I'm not sure if I would come back here again, as the bar kind of has an odd vibe... like it's trying to be a neighborhood bar but can't quite hack it.

Block 15 is a fun sports bar addition in River Market. The bar is located in a basement, so it definitely has a dark and divey vibe, especially at night. You enter via a door off of Delaware and take the stairs down, or there is an accessible entrance in the back through the patio area. Your best bet for parking is paid street spots - be careful not to park in reserved lots!!!They have tons of drink specials, happy hour deals, and events throughout the week (karaoke, DJs, etc)! Drinks are a little bit expensive, but you are downtown. They have lots of nonalcoholic options too. They do a lot of community events at Block 15, which is awesome - tailgates, watch parties, Downtown Neighborhood Association events, etc. They do not have a kitchen, which is a bummer. You can order food and bring it in, or they usually have the Juicy Hands food truck out back!

Located in the basement of the 1880's built Ebenezer Building, Block 15 is a sports bar owned by Tribe Kitchen across the street. I stopped in to watch the first part of the Chiefs game and have a beer while I was attending The Art Garden that uses the City Market Park which is just outside their backdoor patio. The interior space is fairly large with a horseshoe bar, tables, booths and a small alcove containing a few larger booths. There is also a large floor for dancing and a DJ booth, but when talking to a bartender it seems the music and dancing has been put on indefinite hold due to noise complaints from building residents. They will probably be filling the 'dancefloor with more seating or pool tables. The rough limestone north wall is a great visual reminder of just how old and historic the neighborhood is. They do not have a kitchen but I did get a free bowl of beef stew that a manager made and brought in for the Chiefs game. My interaction with 2 staff was positive although my $7 20oz draught of BLVD Wheat seemed a bit on the expensive side. I would have no qualms returning on a River Market bar hopping adventure in the future or enjoying the big patio on a beautiful spring or fall afternoon.

1st time here and it was Valentine's evening & wet out. There were just a few people sitting at the bar and it was closing at 10. But it was Margarita night!!! I loved the orange add in my margarita and they did offer to make drinks again even right at 10. Just on the street car route so a bonus!
