Yummy textures and flavors for the win! Mochi doughnuts are not too be missed, paired with a lovely jasmine green tea and I'm craving it weekly. Huge cinnamon rolls, so fluffy, chewy, sweet and warm. Like a hug to my insides. Staff were so nice and patient while we made up our minds. Cute space that smells divine. I'm bummed I haven't visited sooner. Street parking and so far have always found a close spot. No place to sit, only draw back is I can't wait till I get home to eat them so. Driving with sticky fingers. worth it

As expected there was a line (around 9.30 am Saturday), Cute little place offering Mochi donuts, a variety of croissants, Bagels & coffee. You can also preorder and pickup the pastries in the morning if you want. I ordered an everyday bagel with Jalapeño spread, Brioche Cinnamon roll loaf, Blueberry parfait & Red velvet croissant. Cinnamon roll loaf and Bagel was a clear winner! Croissant was fresh on the outside but a little hard on the inside. Blueberry parfait was okay. Staff were nice and welcoming! Prices were reasonable too!Would love to try other croissants next time.

I am so glad I finally stopped in. This place is cute and quaint. It's not an air in bakery but it feels homey and makes you want to stay awhile. Customer service is great! The pastries look so good and I promise they taste just as good. I ordered the spiced orange and butterscotch mochi. It was my first time have mochi and it's very good. I also ordered the cinnamon role and omg it's so good. I also ordered the fresh fruit puff very good! I will be back but I will need to jog there and back for caloric purposes.

I'm in Kansas City taking my daughter to softball camp and in keeping with tradition I try to find a local bakery/coffee shop to try. In doing my research for a restaurant I came across black hole bakery. Thank goodness I did!! it was so delicious. A week before we were in Columbus, Ohio, and just before we hit the road to come back my daughter wanted to go to some Korean bakery to get the mochi doughnuts. We did pick some up for the drive home and they were pretty good.I give you that bit of background information because when I tried these mochi donuts, they put them the shame. Any Korean shop that is making mochi donuts should be coming to the black hole bakery to figure it out! They were so delicious!! The donuts here were big enough for two or three bites and cost $2.50 or three dollars per donut and we're well worth it. I bought a couple other items to take back to St. Louis with me and they were all equally delicious. The shop is quaint and had many many kinds of option. The coffee was delicious and since we were there right before Christmas, I ended up buying one of their fruit cakes, which was equally delicious. When I am back in Kansas City, I will definitely be back to try everything. This place is unbelievably good and one of the top bakeries I've ever been to. And I've been to a lot of bakeries in my travels around the country. My stomach can attest!!

Street parking isn't too hard to find in the area as long as you don't mind the tiniest bit of a walk. I've tried a couple of their mochi donut balls which have a spot-on mochi donut texture but are too sweet for me. I came during a weird time when both flavors on offer didn't appeal to me (movie butter popcorn? meh.) so I also got some of their garlic bread to bake at home ($11).The garlic bread was so buttery that the top bit was practically wet after baking, but the melted butter didn't really make it through to the rest of the bread. The sesame seed crunch was a nice touch.

It's always fun to follow the shop on social and then get taste the delectable treats in person. They are only for takeout, so make sure you're ready to take your pastries home or to a nearby park. They are meant to be savored so I'd wait rather than eat in the car. Although the smell of butter might prove to be too tempting...The owner is always friendly and the selection is generous on weekdays. Weekends, get up early to make sure you get your favorite.

The bakery shop itself is super cool very fun atmosphere. Cool decorations the people working behind the counter are friendly and knowledgeable. We went specifically for the mochi doughnut holes, which I was a little disappointed by I was expecting the texture of mochi doughnuts that you get in Japan. They were still good just not what I would call a mochi doughnut (though I'm sure they are made with mochi flour) But the pastries! They were superb. I would go back there and try one of everything. I plan on it too.

Run, don't walk here! And make sure to get here right as they open or you risk them running out of all the best stuff! Every once in a while you come across a hidden gem, and this bakery is it for sure. Imagine a beautiful Saturday morning, 7:50 AM (they open at 8) and a line of 30 or so people begins to form. That was here, pic for reference too. There is a cult following here and for good reason. I tried all the mochi donuts because why not- favs were the birthday cake and pistachio. Also had the palmier, ube tea cake, and cinnamon roll. Could've tried everything but will save for next time. Probably one of the best bakeries in KC and there are a lot of exceptional ones. Pro-tip, can call in order day before and walk right in to grab it already made up. Downside you don't get to look at all the goodies in the case. Final review: 5/5 stars

I decided to check out a bakery for something new and I found it! This bakery was quite intriguing with croissants, honey buns, sticky buns and creative ways on their items in store. I talked with the cashier and he was excited about the store, food, coffee and owner! Filled with knowledge and friendliness. The inside could take you back to an old school family owned bakery. Small and quaint! I love this place and will definitely be back to the ham , chorizo and biscuit and gravy croissants. Welcome to the neighborhood Blackhole Bakery!
