Good service food was good I got a hamburger with pepper jack cheese my husband had a pulled pork sandwich the sweet potato fries were great and so was the slaw

Food is deliciously amazing and always get it in a timely fashion even on the busiest days! Waitresses are top notch and delightful to be around, especially the evening ones!!

This is the real deal. The BBQ here stands up to what should be what is called "normal" bbq. I haven't eaten here enough to know if everything is good, but I had a rib-meat sandwhich, and the green beans and coleslaw had my mouth watering after each bite. The sweet BBQ sauce wasn't bad, either! This should definitely be on your trip if you are in the area. Don't be fooled by the Smokestack BBQ in the gas station just off the highway by Moberly. I like Smokestack (I am from KC), but the gas station variety is just a pale shadow of what BBQ should be. So take your time and do your gustatory duty to your belly. Just don't eat it too fast!

Consistently excellent food.There are so many great choices, but two things are always awesome; brisket (either as a sandwich on Texas toast or alone) and the buffalo chicken sandwich.I LOVE the macaroni and cheese, it's got a bit of spicy twang to it and it's delicious.There are two exceptional places to eat when you're in Moberly and this is one of them.

Great BBQ! Friendly service. Casual atmosphere. All of the locals stop here on their lunch break.

Bbq was good portions and well made. Sauce was good, prefer the original. We had pork and brisket. They were out of sweet potato fries. The regular fries were good. Our young lady taking orders was very nice and talented (check out her fun drawings in the restaurant) sadly, when you pay, the tip you sign for does not go to the employees. That is wrong and should be fixed. The employees hustle for good service and deserve this small token of thanks. The owners should not fake the tips.

I'll have to say I've never experienced not one, but two smart mouthed employees like this in one establishment in my life. And in my first encounter with this restaurant too!! I phoned the restaurant after googling for a bbq place nearby. The girl that answered the phone lacked listening skills failing to hear when I stated up front that I had never been there, had no menu, and wanted to place an order for some sort of rib meal FOR JUST MYSELF. This means that it is just me, a meal for ONE PERSON. But she wasn't listening and begins to rattle off about a full rack of ribs for two with four sides. I state again that the meal is just for me, one person, and she again repeats the whole rack of rib meal to me over again!! So again I say that I'm wanting to order something JUST FOR ONE PERSON. She became beligerent, was immedialy flippant and said, "Well you can get a half slab with two sides!" Then I again stated I had never eaten there before and could she please tell me what the sides are to choose from. She became irritated at this for some reason and rattles them off like she was a contestant in a speed reading contest. I asked her how much the meal would be and she said $9. Then after I chose two sides, she never bothered to give me any further prices or a total. She also interrupted me twice in the conversation, acting as if she could care less about anything. She didnt say "thank you for your order" or "goodbye", but just hung up. When I arrived and came in the door, the sun was behind me and caused quite a glare and having never set foot in the "hole in the wall looking place", I nearly tripped on a 6 inch step they have in front of this counter that I guess you walk to after you get your bearings after coming in the door. The place has a rather odd layout and not like any restairant I've ever been to. No one even said anything when I nearly fell on the floor and the girl behind the counter didn't even act like she cared or even noticed, and didn't bother to ask if I was okay. Moreso, she didn't greet me or even smile. She just stood there and blurted out if I was there to pick to food despite the obvious fact that I was still recovering from nearly falling on the floor from the trip hazard of a step that is there. I commented that a ramp would be safer and in her rudest,miss know it all tone, she replies, "Well there's a sign hanging right there!" My reply? "Well, it certainly is effective in helping people to avoid tripping and falling on a step that is not even obvious when you come into the establishment from the outside sun." The girl ignores my comment, doesn't say she is sorry or show concern. Instead, she continues with her smart alleck attitude, saying, "Don't know why you didnt see it, its right there!!" As I was still reeling from my near trip and fall, and then realizing how rude the girl was being to me, she just keeps talking in her rude tone and says, "that'll be "21.__". I replied, "I thought it was 9.00 plus just two sides". At that very moment, another smart mouthed girl comes up to the counter and spews at me, "I TOLD YOU TWO TIIMES ON THE PHONE IT WOULD BE $9 PLUS THE SIDES!!" (Recall, that I mentioned earlier that she never gave me any total, nor did she quote what the cost of the sides would be). I didn't reply to either of them at that point, but simply stuck my cash back in my wallet, looked at them both and said "I've never experienced such rudeness like this. What horrible customer service in a restaurant" and I left, being careful that I didn't trip and fall on the obvious hazard yet again. I'm sure the ADA, if brought to their attention eoukd take issue with this for sure. I plan on calling the BBB and reporting the trip hazard to the DHS. Just because they claim a sign exists, it doesn't excuse the owner from his or her "duty of care" to their patrons. This is a personal injury lawsuit waiting to happen. Overall, the staff I came into contact with lacked basic manners, customer service skills, proper training and respect, all of which are direct reflections of the owner and/or management. I would never eat here or recommend this place with its hazardous conditions, and smart mouthed staff to anyone. It's not worth the physical risk or the verbal bashing you'll receive when you dare to enter the premises.

Black Market is the only place in Moberly you can get BBQ. I love their ribs. It's a small place but does a killer of a business. Very family oriented. Everything is good. Once in a while they run out of their ribs so I always call ahead of time and make sure they have them otherwise I'd wait till they did. I just really like their ribs.

We could smell the smoke from the road. Great food and friendly service and small town atmosphere. Had ribs and brisket sandwich. Amazing flavor. The peanut butter pie was good but nothing special. Plan to try the chocolate pecan pie next time.

The owners are as friendly as can be the barbecue was the best I've ever had my ex-boyfriend's brother used to feed it to my dog which I couldn't believe because it was so delicious but he would bring him a quarter pound of pork and I couldn't believe it because it was so good. Buster was loving it he hasn't had anything special like that in so long. I bet he just die if his daddy came walking in the door but I've always been known for giving my heart out for others. I can not do life any other way! but I'd have to say that the barbecue is excellent and the sauce is even better and if I had my choice, I'd eat there today giving it to myself for a change ( sharing with Buster and Purdy of course)to his dog that he loves so much but he wouldn't have any other way!! Maybe he could take him for bbq today for me.to rest and go to hospital for awhile again . But not without BBQ the best around! The owner collects old toys and metal signs he displays so proudly inside! be sure to check the hours before you come in, because they only fire up the grill a few times a week, but when they do oh boy, you could smell it from miles around .I love their barbecue I haven't had it in forever, but I plan on one day going back again I've been ill so I haven't been able to get around but as soon as I get better I'm gonna be back in that barbecue again.
