Black Dog is located on the top floor of a Harley Davidson dealership, which is colocated with the Evel Knievel Museum. The restaurant is located at the top of a narrow staircase (there may be an elevator but we didn't see one). You place your order at a walk-up counter. The gentleman who took our order was very friendly and helped us decipher the menu. We both ordered the brisket sandwich. My husband got a platter with the beans and cheesy potatoes. I got the smaller plate with potato salad. The brisket was "shredded" which is not how I am used to on a BBQ brisket sandwich. It was really dry and honestly didn't have much of a smoked flavor. I put sauce on it, but didn't really care for the taste of that either. I would describe it as sweet Heinz 57 sauce. The potato salad was nothing exceptional but tasted fine. Same with my husband's cheesy potatoes. However the BBQ beans were exceptional! Probably some of the best I have ever had. They were rich and sweet with chunks of meat. I wish I had ordered a plate of those!Overall, I wouldn't really recommend Black Dog Bar B Que. But if you go, be sure you order the beans!

Before getting started at the Museum, I had lunch today at Black Dog. A plate of chopped brisket was just what I wanted, as you can see from the picture and served with cole slaw. Moist but needing a little bit of sauce. Cole slaw was crispy and had a nice vinegar bite to it.They have a soda fountain and urns of tea. There is a free wifi signal here though it's not theirs.[Review 11419 overall, 1196 of 2019.]

Passing through in a road trip, I found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a shot. It was the barbecue I've ever had, which was really surprising considering its strange location. I asked the guy behind the counter if he preferred the beef or the pork and he offered to give me half of each! Great barbecue, great slaw, and great customer service.

I always forget about this little gem. The hours are quirky but the food is amazing. Today was a special on burnt ends. I'm always hesitant about burnt ends because so many places serve chopped brisket which is not the same. But these were authentic, brisket point, caramelized, meat candy. They did add some shredded brisket, I assume as a filler, but with the generous portion I didn't mind it. That along with their famous cheesy potatoes and a drink for 8.65. Burnt ends are only served on Wednesday (because true burnt ends are not as plentiful) but if you're there another day try any one of their smoky meats.

Henry's BBQ Grill has replaced Black Dog BBQ but you can buy either T-Shirt. This BBQ focused restaurant is situated inside Harley Davidson and near the exit of the Evel Knievel Museum. The pulled pork has a great smoky flavor with the sauce choices being regular and hot. I had two sides, the second was free since they were running low on coleslaw, but the slaw was both vinegar and mustard based while the beans had a delicious beer flavor. Very subtle, the beer beans, but they live up to their name. The slaw is reminiscent of Carolina mustard based sauce.Served on paper with plastic silverware, this is a classic roadside BBQ joint in the middle of Kansas' capital. Probably the only restaurant in a H-D dealership that I have seen, but worth a stop after visiting Evel Knievel Museum.

Was in town for a business conference and decided to stop by. Immediately when I walked in I could smell the barbecue and I knew I was in for a treat. I got the pulled pork and taters n cheese. It was all around a good meal. I was very pleased with the service as the man behind the meat was friendly and just a great guy in general. I would highly recommend coming in if you're with a group of friends or just wanting some good bbq!

I have no idea why this place has 5 stars. I took the whole family for lunch and ordered a number of options, which is quite limited. The Food across-the-board was bland and unflavorable. It was average at best. Portions were ample and prices acceptable. Nothing was horrible just average.
