I need to start off by saying people writing bad reviews about this shop in the last month or so are so mean! I understand people are overly stress about covid but don't take it out on shops! On with my review! Mid april i wanted to buy a mountain bike and i kinda knew it would be difficult to find a full suspension in my price point because every place i checked was sold out. So i walked in this store and i could say it was off putting because it was so busy and it didn't seem like they had enough people working in the store. As i was walking around checking inventory a guy said you need help i'll be right with you ( he was helping 3 other people ) Dave came over 5-10 minutes later said what can i do for you. He found me a bike in the price point and over the next week he found a part i needed to hook a kids trailer to my bike. Did all this looking stuff up on the computer answering phones and trying to take care of everyone walking in the door lol.. At one point i didn't think he would remember about a part he was going to have them install when they got my bike in... I was wrong, not only did he remember the part he had them put it on right away. I watched Dave take care of customers 1 after another and a few at a time over 2 weeks. One lady had a problem with something she bought there, Dave looked her in the eye said i have never seen this happen before in over 15 years so you tell me what you want to do for you to walk out happy, i'll refund your money in full or give you another unit ( i think it was a bike rack maybe) . She wanted a new unit and dave made the bike builder stop what he was doing to build this ladies unit on the spot! I am a huge fan of this shop now, it's like that 80's bike shop before corporations, cool to talk to and they know there stuff about bikes. I ended up buying another bike for my wife today (so we can take a ride together) I found out 3 workers quit because of covid and their volume doubled because everyone wants bikes or getting there old bikes worked on. So when you walk in those doors have the mind set it's going to be a little disorganized but they will do right by you! Good Luck Everyone, Stay Safe.

I try very hard to handle my bicycle maintenance from home. I have some tools and am relatively handy. I recently purchased a new set of tires that I simply could not get mounted to the rims and I threw in the white flag. I drove over to Bike America and the nice tech helped get my new tires mounted quickly and at an appropriate cost. It is really a luxury to have bike mechanics that are helpful and locted close by....I very much appreciate the assist! I'll be back again when I get in over my head.

100% love this business. Wish I'd gone here first instead of buying a bike on Facebook marketplace. They helped me find a good quality bike, used, that met my needs. The staff are amazingly helpful!

I get excellent service every time I'm in. I've popped in with a flat and they fixed it for me right away. I just had a tune up and dropper seat fixed for LESS THAN HALF the price another local bike shop quoted me. Two different technicians spent time with me making sure it was exactly what I wanted and showing me how I could tweak a couple of things myself. You might have to wait a few minutes while they give another customer the same good service, but it is worth it.

The place is a wreck. Holes in the floor, walls, wires hanging down from the ceiling. Lots of old product and no one asked if I needed help.

If I could give zero stars, I would. This place has no service capacity whatsoever. Says they have Bosch certified technicians on site but the battery won't charge and we've waited 3 weeks for "Bosch to get back with us". This is in addition to waiting 9 months for the battery in the first place. The owner said multiple times he would check on it and call tomorrow but tomorrow never came. Not once did he ever call. We had to call again and again and go in just to check on it. I have NO IDEA how this place stays open. The bike is great, just wish we'd bought it somewhere that cared about customer satisfaction.

Beware!!! Oh if 0 starts was only an option! Not sure where to start...I put my electric bike about 6 weeks ago on consignment with the owner Nick. Waited about an hour before he was able to help me, granted he was busy, but I noticed the staff was plentiful and goofing around in the back, terrible first impression and I should have gone with my gut instincts. Then, 3 weeks go by and no one contacted me to let me know how my bike was doing, any interest, etc. etc. After 8 weeks of consignment and ZERO calls to keep me in the loop, I decided to go and get my bike last night and bring it home. Well, the nightmare ensues...RUDE and violent staffer (I believe Paul was his name), said we can't find your keys, manual, and charger. I was shocked as I waited for 38 minutes for them to search the store. I asked them politely if they could please call Nick the owner and they said they did, but he had no idea where he had placed my keys and accessories to my ebike. As you can imagine, I'm now sitting and patiently waiting for my stuff and I have a $1500 brand spanking new ebike that is dead and useless now because I have no keys and no charger. Paul starts yelling at me, along with another female staff member that I DID NOT give them enough notice to pick up my bike. WTH? Excuse me? I got very frustrated as you can imagine and was absolutely appaled and started to phone law enforcement when finally after almost 40 minutes the female employee (whose name I did not get) found my stuff. NEVER in my life have I been treated this way. I have zero clue how this business can stay in operation and if I was the owner I would be ashamed at such incompetent and RUDE and physically HARASSING employees. The male employee Paul became so angry at one point he was shouting in my face and was threatening me, that's when I decided to start phoning law enforcement but thankfully before I was able to do so, ther female employee found my things and thankfully I was able to be on my way. Please DO NOT shop here. These people DO NOT care about customer retention and they are violent, rude, arrogant and pompous. What a shame. I had high hoped but they quickly dwindled, as you can see here in this post. It is my genuine wish that this post will benefit and help others so that they do not have to endure the suffering and embarassment and fear that I had sadly endured.

My experience at Bike America left me with a LOT of warm fuzzies, especially compared to another high-priced shop whose name I won't mention. I got a bike computer installed WHILE I waited. The other shop acted like they didn't care if I had to drop my bike off and pick it up two days later, after which I would have paid DOUBLE what Bike America charged me. Unless you have TONS of extra cash to spend needlessly, I would recommend Bike America. No, I don't have anything to gain by supplying this review except the glow of gratitude for great customer service.

I would not recommend. Not friendly. Never acknowledged we Arrived and after 15 minutes watching the staff great others and test drove bikes out of the shop, we decided to leave and went to a bike store in Lawrence. We where greeted and ended up purchasing a better bike that happened to be on sale and was about the same price Bike America had.

I had perhaps the worst customer service experience of my life at Bike America this evening. My wife went to the store this afternoon to see about a used bike for my young son with training wheels. His old bike from Bike America broke after a year, and he really wants to learn to ride. Besides, he needs a slightly bigger bike. The bike required repairs, and we were told to return after 5 and were told it would be done. When I arrived, I asked a guy at the service department about the bike. He had no idea where it was, and gave me no direction where to go. He made a half-hearted effort to ask someone else, but then basically shrugged his shoulders and told me to wait. 20 minutes later with zero help, I decided to strike out to find another employee for help. I'm not unreasonable, I know they have other customers and we are in a global pandemic. Furthermore, many people want bikes with the weather improving and everyone sheltering at home. But there were no more than 6-8 customers in the store at any time.I finally found someone that knew about my bike. They had inexplicably placed it up front. I paid for the bike (after the employee asked me what the price was - not smart business if you ask me). After I had been rung up, I discover the bike does not have training wheels installed. We had been told they would be installed. At this point I'm frustrated, but not showing it. I get it, people make mistakes. After waiting 10 mins, a gentleman says he will take the bike back to put on training wheels. I follow him to the back of the store. He starts work, then proceeds to take a 15 minute phone call from a customer while I wait. I wait patiently (but I'm frustrated). At this point I've been at the store for 45 mins to pick up a bike when there are at most 6-8 customers in the store with 3 employees.Every single employee stops to help customers that came to the store long after I arrived. They all take phone calls from people not in the store. They do not care I'm there at all. I would have been there all night if I didn't make a bit of a scene. When the worker gets off the phone, I'm standing there waiting. He appears to go about his job paying no attention to me. I make my presence known. He asks how he can help me like he has no idea I was there. I tell him he's putting training wheels on my son's bike and that I've getting frustrated because it's been 45 minutes since I arrived to simply pick up the bike. I'm losing my cool - not one of my finer moments. I raised my voice because I'm getting angry. He clearly has no clue that he's supposed to be helping me.He proceeds to yell back at my that I'm treating him like a dog. He asks if they've been sitting on their asses. He tells me his employees are working hard. I'm exasperated and yelling I just want to leave with the bike I bought. I can't believe he's telling me that he deserves a break because he's busy helping other people that arrived after me when my bike was supposed to be done. He steps up to me and gets in my face yelling. I back up because i want to socially distance, and he's closer than 6 feet to me. He accuses me of lying about how long I've been there. He threatens to not install the training wheels and instead just refund my money. I'd have preferred that, but I'd have a devastated kid at home if that happened.I asked to see a manager. He proudly proclaims he owns the store. He berates me about how ridiculous I'm being. I'll admit, this isn't my finest moment. But I've been made to feel like my business doesn't matter and I'm lucky they're doing anything at all for me. Apparently I have to spend my whole night there if I want a bike. Every single other customer is more important. My wife is taking care of our two young boys at home by herself while I'm doing this - that's not easy. In total, I spent an hour at this store to pick up a bike.Do not ever go to this store. You will he treated terribly and made to feel bad if you get upset for waiting an hour for something that should have taken 5-10 mins at most. I truly can't believe how poorly I was treated. The owner, to his credit, did apologize. I did as well. I'm not usually an unreasonable customer.By the way, the bike has a lot or scratches on it that are fairly bad and never disclosed to us over the phone. We were hoping to minimize our time in the store in this pandemic, so we committed to buy the bike without seeing it. Instead, we got taken for a ride and treated terribly.I never write reviews like this. This experience made me do it for the first time.
