Very cool rehabbed factory building houses BW Big Whiskey's American Restaurant & Bar. Look for BW letters near top of the building as you approach from downtown area.We were seated quickly in New Year's Day and our sever Kasey K was knowledgeable about the menu. We ordered a vodka cranberry and margarita. First drink was light on vodka but second one was spot on. My partner ordered the half rack of ribs with loaded fries and he enjoyed the flavor of the charred meat and bbq sauce. I ordered the Atlantic salmon with lemon pepper seasoning with green beans and broccoli plus French onion soup. Next time I would order the salmon blackened or unseasoned as lemon pepper was heavy on the salt. BW is very good and worth the trip to Jefferson City!We had very good buffalo dip wontons as an appetizer and they were great! We liked the touch of having bleu cheese crumbles and lettuce on the plate.

What a disappointment. I really should have just opted to go to bed hungry.I rolled into Jefferson City for the evening after a tiring day in St. Louis and then traveling. I was tired and didn't want to go sit in some loud restaurant, so I started looking for places nearby that I could pickup an order and bring it back to the hotel room. Unfortunately, I picked this lousy failure of a slop house to order from. I may never forgive myself for that poor decision.The order email said to arrive at 6:12 p.m. to get my order. I arrived on time, but was told the order wasn't ready yet. I figured maybe a few extra minutes would be all it would take. No big deal. I have a seat on a bench. In between dine-in guests being seated, four other to go orders get picked up. Still no sign of mine. After more than half an hour of waiting, at 6:45, I ask the guy in the blue shirt (appeared to maybe be a manger or something) if my order wasn't ready yet. He disappears for a long time. I think he went out back for a smoke break or something. He finally comes back with a bag with my meal in it. I look inside and notice there is no cutlery. I'm staying in a hotel room, so I'd prefer not to eat with my hands like a savage. I ask for some cutlery.He then disappears for another inordinately long amount of time. I finally ask one of the hostesses if I can just take a set of the metal cutlery behind her that is in a basket. She said no. I was pretty livid at this point. I'm not sure if the guy shit his pants and had to make a detour to his home to change pants or what, it shouldn't have taken that long to find a plastic fork and knife. Good god, what a disorganized clusterfuck. I finally get my fork and knife and head to my car. I drive the half mile to the hotel. I get into my hotel room and take the lid off the container, ready to eat. It's now 7:10. About an hour after I should have gotten my meal. I'm ravenous and decide to try the chicken first. And it was like eating the timing belt out of a Honda Odyssey. I couldn't chew it with my teeth. I couldn't cut it with the knife. I don't know what they did to that chicken, but their cook should be making space shuttle tiles for NASA instead of cooking chicken. Seems about right for a place full of space cadets.If you're thinking about visiting this place and you're reading the reviews to determine whether or not to visit, just do yourself a favor and go to bed hungry instead. It will be more enjoyable the service will be better.

Great service by our waitress, very friendly. Took awhile to get our nachos but it was 10:30-11 at night so I'll give them that. The chicken nachos were really good and plenty for two of us. The bill was super cheap I had to check to make sure they didn't screw up but I guess it was just an app and we split it and I had a beer and my sister got a water. So I guess that makes sense. Anyway, great ambience and I'd come here again. Lots to choose from on the menu for next time I'm in town.

Peyton our server was a doll. Chicken nachos were good, I'd get it again. We went after Nitty Gritty concert and were starving after.. so glad it was open, we didn't want a drive thru. Little slow out of the kitchen but that maybe is expected at 10:30PM!?! I don't know I'm usually not eating out at that time!

Solid bar food and cold beer for NFL football. Nice place to hang out with friends. The entrees were good, but I couldn't understand why they ran out of boneless wings on game day.

Stopped by at 5 on a Sunday afternoon, about 20 people were seated. We were quickly seated at a nice table to wait and wait. Finally came took our drink order (Bloody Mary and Arnold Palmer). Took our order Mamas Pork Chop and 6 oz sirloin and a wedge salad. Three tables were seated after we ordered. Drinks were great, ordered second round. The three tables received their food, we were brought club sandwich fries and a salad. Oops, we got our wedge salad which was delicious. Three tables left, received our drinks. Food came pork chops were hot and delicious, the tablespoon of gravy was like glue. Sirloin was cold and the cowboy topping had 7 little onion straws. Broccoli @ potatoes were cooked well but cold. Took food home and commented to waitress to see the manager. We waited, the waitress came and said the manager was busy. I asked for a discount and she said the manager would have to approve. The manager was busily with a charcoal looking burnt hamburger and a very over cooked steak. We were there 2 hours. Come on BE. You can do better, waitress was standing by the food window and getting ice instead of taking care of her customers

Cold enough to hang meat. No host at start - took over 3 minutes for his to show. Half Salad was good. Toasted club tasted a bit burnt. No dressings (mayo or ?) on sandwich and no ask if I wanted any. Outside patio was nice - and warm relative to inside. SERVER WAS VERY GOOD wish I remembered her name.

I had the opportunity to go to Big whiskey after an afternoon golf tournament first off. I would like to say the food was amazing. The service was average however, the food and atmosphere made up for the subpar service. I am fully aware that maybe I came when staffing was shorthanded, but I will be back
