Big Q Barbeque

This is a neighborhood joint smack in the middle of Wyandotte County.They provide generous portions, so don't feel bad if you ask for a container to-go. It's almost encouraged.I thought my ribs were overdone. They were a little dry and chewy.The sauce was a-ok.Fries were fine.The beans were mighty tasty.I would return if I was in the area, but I'm not sure this is a destination location.The staff was polite and happy to answer any questions.

The barbecue is smoked nicely and slow cooked to a tender consistency. The only problem I had was that the barbecue sauce wasn't really that tasty to me.

This place is very out of the way in south Wyandotte county, making it a destination restaurant for most metro residents, but unfortunately it doesn't live up to being destination worthy.The "Burnt Ends" were nothing more than chopped up roast and brisket that is stewed in bbq sauce. The sauce was neither sweet nor spicy. The fries are large steak fries and the baked beans were good enough that I would re-order them, but they still do not stand out as a signature side dish.The building is very generic and outdated with zero personality, inside and out. My waitress was friendly and efficient but that's about the best I can say about the experience. This place represents the quantity of BBQ joints in this town, not the quality.

'A' for being meaty/tender ribs, good sweet potato fries & mushrooms. Awesome looking desserts although too full to try them. 'A' for good service, friendly staff, clean restaurant and space. Did not love the sauce, but a good local BBQ place.

My "small BBQ platter" with brisket, two ribs, two sides, bread, and a pickle was reasonably priced at $11.99. The portion sizes were generous, and the ribs had plenty of tasty, fall off the bone meat. I liked the crunchy, creamy, chilled cole slaw and the brown sugar (?) flavored baked beans. The brisket was flavorful, and plentiful, but could have been leaner. The dining area was clean and well lighted with TVs, and the service was friendly, attentive, and fast (my meal was ready in about six minutes), but the TVs were off, and there was no background music. I'm thinking 3.5 stars and rounding up for the good value. Nice!

I was hoping for so much more. The friend food was amazing the highlight of the food that was ordered. My wife and I order the pulled pork dinner but it was like nothing we have ever had before. It was like rib tips and not pulled pork. It was cut up into small peaces which was unexpected. After eating the meal both my wife and I started having stomach issues. It was just like a sharp pain in our stomachs.

Big Q is the best BBQ in town. The sauce is delicious and with just a little heat. Big Q is our first stop after leaving the airport and our last stop on the way to the airport. I love the turkey sandwich and a small order of regular french fries. I never leave hungry!

Incredible value for the money and tastes great too! Don't snooze on that pasta salad it is the perfect compliment to the barbecue meats.

Ribs and sauce all good. Would go again. Yelps review was accurate. The sauce had a peppery flavor.
