Best Regards Bakery & Cafe

Not sure why I haven't eaten here in all the years I've worked at Sprint Campus and lived in the area but some coworkers and I decided to go for lunch here the other day and I cannot wait to go back. We got there around 11:45 to beat the rush. There was some disruptive construction in the parking lot when we first arrived but fortunately they went on their lunch break at noon. We took in the yummy looking desserts and put in our orders at the counter. I got the pick 2 with a chicken salad sandwich and the signature salad. I also picked up one of their famous cranberry orange cookies. My two colleagues ended up getting the prepared pick 2 lunch boxes. I was a little worried since they had to make mine fresh and that I'd be waiting while my colleagues ate but my food came out from the kitchen as they were just unwrapping all their lunch parts. I'm a freak for chicken salad and this one was one of the best ones I've had in ages. And the focaccia was still warm. My colleagues were saying that they wished the focaccia in their sandwiches were warm, but the boxes came straight from the cooler. The salad was also super tasty. And the portion was PERFECT for lunch. My colleagues' boxed lunches came with a sandwich, salad and a small sugar cookie. They really enjoyed theirs too. And now to the cookie, which I took with for an afternoon snack. HOLY COW! It was incredible. So citrusy and a beautiful texture. I also love that they use fresh cranberries, rather than craisins. Adds a lovely juicy texture to the already soft cookie. Can't recommend enough! For folks who haven't gone, there's maybe 10 tables and only 2 for more than 4 people so keep that in mind if you are looking to dine in.

This review is for the new Dean and Deluca Style Turkey sandwich.Best Regards Bakery has this great Turkey Sandwich now on the menu.When D&D existed, it was really great, but way expensive for the time.Maybe they just had fast forwarded to today's inflationary prices???I had it yesterday and today (leftover 1/2).Turkey, Brie, crisp letuce, fresh slices of tomato, Apricot mustard spread, toasted bread.90% good reproduction of the Original.For those Los Poblanos fans, I kicked up my 1/2 today with Hatch Green Chili jam.Go to their website or Google it, it's great on everything, but I digress.This D&D Turkey Sandwich (NOT Dungeons and Dragons ok...) AND their other sandwiches (Grilled Cheese and Bacon anyone???) Is so very worth a trip to them in KC barely 12 paces west of the Johnny's which is east of 119th & Metcalf.BTW, the pastrami sammi is awesome too, especially when paired with a bowl of beer cheese soup.

I tried out Best Regards based on rave reviews from another Elite, and while the bakery items are great, the food items left a lot to be desired. Honestly, I think the photos speak for themselves here. Every item tasted as good as it looked--the Cream Puff was amazing (fresh, pillowy, creamy on the inside and delicately crispy on the outside), the Turkey Avocado Tomato Sandwich tasted like what my dad would cook when my mom was out of town (heartfelt but bland and dry, sorry Dad), and the Avocado Toast tasted like old avocados and black pepper. Some of the other items posted on this page look great, but it's hard to tell what you can order because of the menu situation. The menu is spread across three or four different locations when you walk in. There's a digital board above the register, then the display cases, then a sheet of paper in front of the register that shows some sandwich options (not including many of the ones posted here), and there's another sheet of paper tacked to the side of a display case that lists the virtual salad bar ingredients you can choose from. Between the odd ordering situation, the steep prices, and the quality of the food items, I'd recommend coming here to pick up some pastries and skipping the rest.

Secret place. I would have never known this was here until a friend recommended the Hot Pastami sandwich. Fresh and so so good. Worth the money paid. It not cheap $19 with tax. Friendly owners.

Invited a friend to meet me here for coffee. (What I really meant was I need a bakery fix!!)We both ordered and enjoyed our cinnamon rolls. They were only two hours old at most and just a hint of warmth still on them but not enough to melt the frosting. Pillowy soft and big enough to make a whole meal out of it alone. Never disappointed with the selection and the quality of the food and baked goods.

I've reviewed the perfect cookies, now I can officially say this Pastrami Reuben is AMAZING. All the different parts are delicious and create a sandwich experience like no other! I would order this one again and again. In the same order, I took advantage of the chantilly cannoli special, and these also blew me away! If you are a fan of the chantilly cake from Whole Foods, it is that cake in a cannoli and These are pretty special. Get your hands on some while they are still around!

Cookies are good, mostly soft, and expensive (on par for other specialty cookies). No discount for bulk ordering. Really like that the chai spice is a homemade recipe. Day old need to be eaten the day you buy them or they will be hard the next day.

It's okay. Bakery items are good. Chicken salad sandwich is good but a little too liquidy. Lemon bars are great though. My table was a bit dirty and it's not the most vibey lol but it's a classic lunch spot. Reminds me of eating at a tearoom with my grandma.
