Honestly this was my first El Jefe after eating at Bay Boy lots of times!! It was perfect. Bread on point, ham and pork perfect and topped with cheese, mustard and pickles - yep should not have waited this long to have this sandwich. Also the counter point would be all the amazing sandwiches I have had...all great and would order everything again.

Fun (recently added) indoor space. Tasty sandwiches. Sadly understaffed and/or underprepared. Having come here several times before the expansion, I want to like this place and I've had some great sandwiches from here in the past, but that unfortunately not the case this week. I arrived at 6:15 earlier this week and went upstairs to order, but noticed the door was already locked. I walked up to the pick up window, which was still open (the door that used to be the entrance for ordering pre-expansion) and stood there for over 5 minutes before being acknowledged even though another staff member walked by 3-4 times prior. The other employee then told me that they were out of bread and had to close 2 hours early. When I came back the next day, I made sure to call and order ahead to make sure they have enough bread available. I was told it would be ready for pick up in 15 minutes, but ended up waiting half hour. Poor guy was prepping many orders by himself for about 20-25 minutes until another coworker came up to help him out get caught up. The staff was very friendly that day, so it sucks to see them be overworked. It seems like staffing and preparation for the day is their main issue. If that gets figured out, they could go back to a 5-star experience.

I have been here several times because of how much people like this place but their sandwiches are not for me.I will start by saying that I do love their bread. I've never tasted a bread like this and you can buy it day old.To start off this place is just off of the plaza in a neighborhood.... it's not hard to find, but where it's located you would never think that this place is here. It's nestled on a narrow neighborhood street. The last time I came they just had their first floor and now you have to walk up a flight of wooden stairs to the restaurant and the take out is down below on the first floor. I don't know what they do for people with disabilities that cannot climb stairs but that is an issue if you or someone you know is coming with you to dine.I would suggest doing carry out, it took my order a while to come out and everyone else after me was getting their sandwich so it was a busy Saturday so they get pretty busy.I ordered the Jefe, it's their take on a cubano with their special bread. They also add ham and Swiss cheese and pickles. Honestly I always hear people talk about this sandwich and tried it twice and it's not for me it's too tangy. Also I am not a fan of tasted sandwiches (some not all) but this sandwich was not my favorite. I need to try other things on their menu. They seem to use quality ingredients so if a cubano is a favorite of yours try it out.

I don't know where to start! I ordered the El Jefe due to running out of the Jackfruit Jefe. I then ordered the Hot Pastrami as well due to not eating pork. Man ole man it was SO good! I enjoyed every bit of it, as far as the El Jefe I assume it was good my son inhaled it with in 5-10 mins lol. All the ingredients were fresh the bread was to die for! The person who took my order was very friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back to try all the other sandwiches that caught my eye while reading the menu.

I've been here multiple times now to pick up sandwiches or eat there and they are always exceptionally well made. The sandwiches are always of high quality and the Dutch crunch bread is outstanding. I've had different sandwiches and they have all been tasty even to my most pickiest of friends. I enjoy the chips that they have as well which can make or break a good sandwich pairing. The inside is a unique vibe and there is sample seating. Service has always been casual and positive so I would recommend it.

The location first off is kind of a hide away but once inside the ambiance and atmosphere is laid back, plenty of tables, a very simple menu and there is also an outdoor pickup on the side of the building. Service was pleasant and it took about 30 minutes for my order because I bought several sandwiches some chips water and tea. The sandwiches were pretty tasty. The bread was very unique than anything I've we ever eaten. I tried every sandwich just got for the review. The jefe, hot pastrami, the wiz, the Nebraskan, the goldilox were all delicious. My favorite is the hot pastrami and goldilox with salmon and cream cheese. Delicious Delicious Delicious

Loved loved loved! Location is so cute, love the games and activities they have while you wait (was able to play a quick game of chess) it's attached to a coffee shop as well so lots of seating available indoors and out. The food was delicious! Bread crispy on the outside and soft in the inside! El jeje which is a Cubano style was so good! The Pastrami was flavorful and shaved so thin! The Bay Boy special (cold sandwich) had very nice salami and the pesto was fresh and vibrant! Was very satisfied with the price of everything for how much you get..definitely worth a lunch trip

Deceptively more spacious on the inside than it looks, but deliciously lives up to the hype. Lunch is hour is understandably packed. Little bit before or after for best easy in and out. However if you wanted to stay and game you could. As in chess, Xbox or any other of the options available. House turned sandwich shop with west coast representing, shout out to my second favorite home state team, 49'ers! Staff are great, laid back even though they were slammed. Street parking is a little bit of a challenge but not too bad and worth the visit.

Bay Boy is incredible! The Jefe is hands down one of the best sandwiches in all of KC. They were freshly slicing the pulled pork when I ordered, so it took a few extra minutes but well worth it. I also ordered the seasonal Jammin' Turkey that was to die for. Onion jam, green apple, spicy mustard, white cheddar, lettuce, and turkey on one sandwich?! Also nice to have Chingu attached to get a coffee to pair with it. Thank you Bay Boy!
