Basswood Resort

It was a really neat place. There was tons to do. There's a little country store with a pizza shop and everything you could possibly need. They played movies each weekend for kids to watch on projectors outside. It rained a lot the weekend we were there, and we had to compromise a lot. The only reason I'm giving 3 stars instead of 4 is because of a few different points: - The internet barely worked in the cabin, and we called for help several times to the front desk and got minimal. -There were wasps in our loft where the kids were going to sleep, but we called and called and got no answer. We decided to all pile up on the downstairs beds, rather than continue to try to connect with anyone who might be able to help because it was really difficult.

PSA Urgent announcement regarding Basswood RV resort and current residents in relation to permanent status for residency.I felt it my duty to expose Basswood and explain the truth about what is going on regarding their permanent residency status. After being lied to for an entire month and being told that anybody on the property that had lived there past 18 months was required to vacate due to a brand new county ordinance , I found this to be completely inaccurate and a total lie.According to the county, Basswood has been given every opportunity in the world for years now to pay the fees to have their permanent residency status established. They are too cheap to do it, and instead choose to pocket the cash, continue to ignore county regulations breaking the law and lie to the tenants.Contrary to what Basswood will tell you there has never been, nor will there ever be a termination of this. I was informed by the county themselves that Basswood has refused to pay the fees to allow permanent residency, this is while they're telling all of their 25 permanent residents " I myself had lived there for five years," They just kicked off the property that they have been trying for years to resurrect this problem.Even after this occurred on April 1, Basswood is continuing to break the law. there was a list of approximately 25 tenants who have been here past 18 months, some of us for years and years. Every single one of them were supposed to be gone by the first. This is not what happened. Upon re-entering Basswood yesterday I discovered that they did not make everybody move. In fact they moved everybody around so they would not lose the $17,000 in income this month they would have. 25 x $680 rent. After confronting Brenna, yet again for the dozenth time this month, I was then informed by her that there was a select list of "I guess favorites" that were allowed to stay. She, of course, won't acknowledge why or how this list has occurred, only that there are a few select people that were allowed to stay and she had no control of it. This was again contrary to what she has been telling me all month long. That there was only one couple that had been grandfathered in, every single tenant who had been there past 18 months was required to move out for 6 months prior to returning. This too, is a lie. There is indeed only one couple allowed to stay there. Most of the other residents that have been there long term that were supposed to have been evicted, have now been moved around and relocated and hidden within the park...are now there illegally.I'm guessing because of my unmistakable Catio, there was no way for me to hide and therefore asked to leave.I have indeed informed the county, which is already pissed at Basswood, they will be taking more action then they already have with the fines. It was never the neighbors causing a huge commotion about Basswood being there. There might be one or two that have a problem, but it is not the neighbors causing this ordinance " again another Basswood lie".It is simply that Basswood doesn't want to pay to have the permanent residency established. It is the county harassing them about this, not the fact that they have permanent residents....the fact that they're profiting from them illegally. They have informed me that due to this particular situation, they will be now be attempting to completely reject their current special activities permit, which allows tenants up to 18 months.This is if they do not shut them down completely. They are facing jail time, Serious Fines, and the high likelihood of losing their residency status altogether and being forced to only allow 30 days stays if even allowed to remain open. Do not, I repeat, do not believe a damn thing they say. All they care about is money, they never once attempted to keep the the property status as permanent, there was never an ordinance to have lifted. The county has been trying to enforce them to apply for years.All Basswood cares about, is making their money, and covering their asses. They don't care who's lives they destroy, or anything about the residents on the property. Only that they can continue to profit illegally.Don't take my word for it though. Don't take anybody's word for it, especially Basswood ...Call the Platte county Unincorporated zoning department yourself, here's their number. We have stayed at Basswood resorts twice now. We enjoy it here and have loved that they added on an additional park and a jumping pillow for the kids. However, this time we stayed in bigger cabin, and I know when you go camping you are roughing it for a few days. However, this place could use a deep clean. The walls are pretty nasty and one of the doors did not work. Needless to say, there was also cockroaches. I brought up to the lady at the desk the next day and she didn't have much to say and seemed annoyed with me. This place is fun in the summer, but I do not know if we would stay in a cabin again.

Beautiful area for sure. We utilized the RV spot. It was spacious and well kept. The gentleman that escorted us to our site was awesome. He was able to answer all our questions. Ever time he drove by he waved and made sure we were doing okay. We had a deluxe spot right next to an upper trail. It was a beautiful very easy walk. The fire flys at night were fun to watch. The place quiets down at night. I slept really good. Check this place out. It is a great place to get away.

Great place, staff is super friendly and provide professional service. Lots of fun activities and live music. So highly recommend.

They say quiet time is from 10 pm to 7 am. Our neighbors were up blaring music and being loud until midnight.

Friendly Staff.Cabin clean and stocked with garbage bags,toilet paper,dishes,cookware,coffee pot,toaster.Really loved the screened in porch with table and chairs.Grandkids had so much fun on both of the playgrounds and the jump pad.Pizza Shack delivered pizza to our cabin pretty quickly.Our favorite was the Chicken Alfredo pizza so delicious.Stay was May 22-24,2024

Stayed in a cabin. Loved the location as it was in our own personal space. Cabin needs some repairs. Took plenty of before and after photos to avoid an issue. My main reason for this rating. The sofa sleeper was very broken down and had no mattress. The beds looked nice but very uncomfortable to sleep on. Everyone we came in contact with was friendly and helpful. They did have some huge fish in the lake.

Bed bugs galore . Would never stay here again! Called to let them know about all the bed bugs and they ignored the messages all together

My cousin rented cabins, RV spots and the club house for one day for a family reunion. We will never return and would never recommend this place to anyone. Their customer service is terrible, the cabins were extremely hot and when we asked for help or additional a/c units we were told they didn't have any and could not help us. Their wifi was non existent as was their cable. We went to the office numerous times to ask for help on this or that and the office staff were extremely rude and told us basically we had to live with it.Part of our group went to a hotel one night as the cabin was so hot they could not sleep. Don't waste your time or money on this place.
