Barley & Vine

I heard of Barley and Vine through Instagram and had wanted to visit since they opened. I had never been to downtown Platte City but quickly realized it's just a quick detour off I-29.It's a nice space, very spacious. I was there to try the beer, which seems secondary to the extensive wine list. However, it's not secondary as in an afterthought because the beers that I had were very good. I had an English Bitter, a session beer, called Bloke's Bitter. I also had a Saison. Both were very enjoyable.

Finally made the trip up to Barley & Vine. Their space is amazing! When you walk in, the first thing you notice is the contrast between the beautiful wooden floors, and the old rock walls. They did an excellent job modernizing the original building, yet still keeping some of the historical character. Next up the beer! I had a several of their beers while I was there. The milkshake blonde ale and the Oktoberfest were good, but my favorite one was the Summer Blossom Saison. It's a saison with a cherry flavor. It trades the regular saison funk, for a more fruity, tart flavor profile. They also have an extensive wine selection and whiskey selection. When I go back next month I for sure plan on trying some of those cocktails! FYI, autumn is one of the best times to visit Platte City if you want a true Midwestern Autumn exoerience! Cheers!

Such a fun space in charming downtown Platte City. Support this local business snd their efforts to make the quaint downtown thrive. Great selection of wines and beer. We started her before walking up the street to La Cabana another gem of Platte City. This would be a great place for corporate events, bachelorette parties, wedding events

Amazing space nestled in what would be considered the old downtown area. Barley and Vine, as its name implies, serves a selection of craft beers and local wines at a reasonable price. If you are a whisky or bourbon drinker, they even have a small, but quality, selection to choose from. The menu consists of just a few finger foods but meals can be delivered from a next door business or the local pizza place without any concern. Live music, a pretty awesome space, semi private meeting area, and incredible service, this is a must try location.

I'm so excited for this new venue in Platte City. The owners have done an amazing job with the space, making it feel open and sparkling, while still keeping the charm and history of the building. We were there on a Wed night, and the place was pleasantly busy. They were hosting trivia on the second floor, while their main level was open seating for anyone who wanted to relax, chat with friends, and sip their drinks without all the noise. They offer beer, wine, and whiskey. There's also a boxed food option of charcuterie or hummus, put together by the neighboring Bee Creek. While I would love to see them offer a bigger selection of munchies, I am happy they are keeping the focus on their customer satisfaction, staff training, and drink selection for now. Hopefully in the future there might be a few more snack food options to pair with the beers and wines.

So glad we stopped in to try this adorable place! First, it is an OLD building, but they have made updates and it is so cute! Great decorations and lighting. They offer flights - wine, beer, or whiskey, along with brewing their own beers. They also sell wines by the bottle to take with you, or enjoy there with a corkage fee. I ordered the classic wine flight and really like 3/4 of the wines. My husband got a beer flight and enjoyed 3/4 of the beers. Service was great. I love that this place is in Platte City! We will be back!

What a great addition to Platte City--far superior to anything else in town. Laura and her team offer great service, a very good selection of craft beers and wines, and great atmosphere. Plus, they host a variety of events that are sure to appeal to many people. It's my new go-to place to meet with friends or an after-hours drink with co-workers.
