Baking is one of my hobbies and I'm glad that this place is around. The owner and her son are both very knowledgeable and friendly. This is my go to place for specialized baking things. I love their selection of luster dust. The prices are higher than Amazon but I rather support a small business.

Excellent customer service! The owner's son Fred, greeted me as soon as I walked in the store. I came there to see if they had a foil pan to fit my Texas sheet cake, which they did, and left with two 9 in cake pans and all the knowledge that I needed to make my own strawberry crunch cake! Prices were reasonable for a specialty shop. Going back next weekend to get supplies for my next project!

I went in there looking for gum past. Gum paste is what they make inedible flowers on cakes, that look like porcelain. I also wanted some fondant. I had no idea how to use either one, and the clerk (owner, I suppose), told me how to use each one, and what I should buy.She didn't try to sell her products which are superior to those I bought at Jo Ann's. She persuaded me to use what I had. (It uses up fast). I told her my skill level, and she had exactly what I needed. She gave me her time, and I appreciate that. This shop is fun. It has good quality, EVERYTHING, Merkens chocolate (for candy making, and cake pops), canvas piping bags, tips, cake boxes, stands, all the wedding cake paraphernalia you'd ever care to see, and birthday cakes, and at this time, graduation cakes. One thing she has that others don't, is disposable cake decorating bags by the bulk, in boxes of 100, which is very useful. She has every pan you can think of. And her meringue powder (for stiffening icing) is the best on the market. I had only seen this on line, and I was surprised when I saw it in her store. She also took an interest in the sugar lace technique I am about to learn, and asked me to return when I got it in the mail. Staying true to my word, I will. I'm staring at the gum paste I bought from her store, and the book, thinking it's too late in the day to make it, so I'll be busy tomorrow. I entered the store NOT knowing exactly how to use it. I left knowing I want to use it. It is right next to Jerry's Bait Shop in cute little Old Town Lenexa.

Smells like candy when you walk in. I was overwhelmed by all the supplies at first, but the super nice lady that works there helped me a lot. She gave me tips on the best way to make the candy and was super patient with all my questions. I will definitely go back there for baking and candy making supplies. They have an amazing collection of candy molds, cake pans, colored sanding sugars, cookie cutters, fondant, sprinkles (pink pigs!), beautiful gum paste flowers, sugar decorations for cakes, melting chocolates, sweets flavors, treat bags & boxes. I even bought edible red glitter. I can't wait to use it.

I love this place! I was a total novice going in... I could bake but knew zero about decorating or icing. In preparation for a baby shower I was hosting I went in and the lady was so nice, she walked me through every step, got me set up with all the right tools, and my treats looked and tasted amazing! Hardly anyone could believe I made them myself :-) thank you for the help!

Forget online ordering your baking needs. Why scroll for hours and then buy a 'close' to what you need and then wait a day or more to receive it--maybe it's right---maybe not so much. Ok. Lenexa may be a drive for you but it's sooo worth it! Your baking creativity will be enhanced. So many items. And the owner knows what she has that will work perfectly. Saves time. She also has a few tips and tricks to share.

Where has this place been all my life!! It was so amazing and a bit overwhelming as all the projects that I can now do started flooding into my mind! The staff is amazingly knowledgeable and fun! If they don't have something, they can give recommendations of substitutes, how to make it yourself, or possibly order it for you.I saw someone mention of google reviews that they watched them like a hawk or something when they brought in a child. This was NOT my experience. I brought my 4 yo daughter with me and the staff was very sweet and spoke to her quite graciously. They do have a sign on their door about kids because it's a small shop and an undisciplined child could do a ton or damage and honestly could hurt themselves. Love this store and I will be back many times!

Great shop, packed with tons of baking supplies and great chocolate. I like to make molded chocolate carrots for my carrot cake and i get their tubes of orange and green chocolate and it is delicious.I like to decorate with cutesy things and they have a ton of those already made up to decorate cakes or cookies or anything. They have things to carry cakes that are disposable. Just an awesome shop.
