Mr. G. and I went here on Friday night for dinner. Since there was live music, Brandon Santini, there was an $8 cover charge. The band was fun, and excellent musicians. I am partial to the Blues, so the experience was a great way to unwind and end the week.Seating is community tables and some bistro tables near the bar. We did not venture to the tented space. It was busy but not over crowded. The food is always good at BBs. Mr. G got the smoked chicken with a side of slaw and pit beans. I got the BBQ Partfait, which is served in a Mason jar. Pit beans on the bottom, slaw, then pulled pork on top. It was filling. Each of us also got a side of Burnt Ends. A side of burnt ends is $6.95. Worth every penny!!!They had my favorite beer (KC BIER COMPANY - Dunkle). They serve Coke products, and have a good drink menu and beer selection with a full bar.Mr. G says BB's is his favorite place. It's pretty awesome that you can eat a decent meal and hear good live music, have a couple of beers, and leave a generous tip for under $100.Date night was a success.

BB's is okay BBQ. Good quality meat with a decent flavor, quick service, and a nice interior that has a Louisiana meets Memphis vibe. The spicy peach sauce was the highlight of the visit, though I wish you could taste more peach. I did enjoy the smell of smoke that wafts over and hits you as soon as you get out of the car.

I first heard about **Lawnside Bar-B-Q** on one of the Triple D shows and was intrigued to visit this barbecue spot in Kansas City. My visit was full of lively jazz music and delicious food. I tried the Hot Mama's fried chicken sandwich, the original burger, and the smoked catfish with fries and coleslaw. While everything tasted great, my favorite was the Hot Mama's fried chicken sandwich. If you're looking for a lively barbecue place with great music and food, this is the spot!

If I could give it negative stars I would. Dirty silverware. Styrofoam plates. Yes they handed us dirty silverware on a styrofoam plate WTH One slab of ribs one order of fries $42. What a ripoff. Had to go to the counter and order, waitress didn't come to the table and wait on us. Sauces were gross and watered down. Ribs still had the membrane on them and made them chewy. Way overdone on the outside. Overall horrible experience. I agree with the other reviews this is not Kansas City bbq. Ps they have a cover charge at a restaurant!!!! We missed it . This place is not for new people they all seem to know each other like a cult

This IS Kansas City Barbecue!A roadhouse with blues starting at 7pm. Picnic table seating or a covered patio. The walls and covered with music and murals. Our waitress was outstanding g giving us the best recommendations. The ham and turkey were so tender and full of flavor. The smoked meatloaf is mixed with brisket and full of smoky deliciousness with a light texture that is hard to define. My first visit to the city and this place hit the spot.I almost forgot! GET the bread pudding regular or fried, heck get one of each like we did. You will thank me.

If you are looking for KC BBQ, this isn't it. This is Cajun style cooking. The cornbread is great - it's like cake! The burnt ends were the star of the show. Turkey was good as well. The brisket was unremarkable. It's a cute little place. The patio is large and the picnic tables are as comfortable as a picnic table can be. Our server suggested the cubed potatoes over the wedges. They are fried twice it seems so they are nice and crispy.

This place has amazing good and I have no complaints. Any place that sells good bread pudding is a gem to me. I will go back to Missouri just to eat here again. There are many seats indoors and the hostess was very helpful.

The food here was excellent. I enjoyed the smoked meatloaf, potato salad, beans, and bread pudding. Your basic bbq shack decor with some really cool murals and memorabilia. The service was excellent and I never had to wait for a drink refill. If you're visiting Kansas City this place is worth a try.

Did not experience the food or atmosphere. We got there to eat dinner because it was on restaurant week and we wanted to try something new. We drove 30 mins to find out there was a $7 cover charge per person. My husband even called earlier today and they didn't mention the cover charge. They were having a band at 7. We arrived prior to 6:30 pm to have dinner only. So we left. -how could they have improved ...they could have offered us to stay and eat.

Wow, cool place. Wasn't expecting it. We drove to a kind of desolate area of town and the restaurant is basically a hole in the wall kinda place - looks a little dingy on the outside and is on the inside tbh, think dive bar. However, you can get bbq and live music. The bartender took take of us at the high top and was very friendly. Enjoyable the blues music, we ordered a platter of meats, got ribs, sausage, brisket and brisket ends with potato salad and beans. Stand out items were the ribs and beans. Being from Texas wasn't fussed about the brisket, it's soo thinly sliced, basically shaved beef - the burnt ends are more similar to Texas brisket.
