Aunt Netters Cupcakes

Things were hopping at Aunt Netter's last week when my friend and I met there for lunch. I had the Grilled Chicken sandwich and added grilled onions. Super delish. My friend had the Chicken Fried Steak and she shared her onion rings with me. Those were yumm-oh! We shared a lemon-blueberry roll that was to-die-for (buttery/sugary like their cinnamon rolls). I had to get another one to take home for hubby. It was a wonderful Summer day to take a nice drive out to Lecompton. Aunt Netter's has been in the news lately for being a great pie place. I'm so happy to see this local joint do so well!

I know this restaurant as Aunt Netters Cafe. I didn't want to create a new review, so I am listing this review under Aunt Netters Cupcakes which indeed they have. You can purchase freshly baked and frosted cupcakes as well as pastries, pies, breakfast and lunch specials. Pie at Aunt Netters Cafe was recently rated as #4 in the nation just this Spring. We decided to sample some pie recently to see what pie in the top 10 of the nation tasted like. My husband ordered coconut cream and I ordered chocolate peanut butter. Let's start with the crust on both pies which was flaky and layered just like pastry crust should be. Now lets move to the whipped cream topping on both pies ~ freshly made by hand daily, nothing out of a can. The coconut cream pie had real coconut flakes in the center and toasted coconut flakes heavily sprinkled over the cream. Definitely rated #1 in my opinion. The chocolate peanut butter pie had a rich layer of chocolate cream and a layer of peanut butter cream, topped with the freshly made whipped cream. Deliciousness overload! In addition to the pie, we ordered the chicken fried chicken sandwich with onion rings. I haven't had freshly breaded and cooked onion rings in forever! The fried chicken sandwich is served with pickles, a large slice of tomato and a crispy leaf of lettuce. The sandwich was so large that I had enough for 2 more small meals after our visit. (I didn't want to eat too much of the sandwich, because the pie was my number 1 mission, as well it should be for any diner. Arrive early. We arrived at 11:20am for lunch. Customers started arriving shortly after us, then gradually faster. By noon, all tables in the dining room were full and people were taking food out the door with them. Prices are very reasonable, portions are large, everything is fresh. While you are at Lecompton, you can also visit the Kansas territorial capital directly across the street from the cafe.

Very good small town place. We had lunch and were very impressed with the freshness of produce and meat. We had a cupcake, coconut cream pie and chocolate cream pie. They were all very good!

Walk up to the counter and order and seat yourself. Nice casual atmosphere. Self service to coffee and soda. Breakfast was delicious. My husband had country fried steak skillet with a biscuit instead of toast. Do that. The biscuit was AMAZING

Very nice and modern cafe in this small town. You read the menus at the table and order at the counter. Although it's one of those places that closes at 2 with most offering breakfast/lunch the entire time. This place shuts breakfast down at 11. That was fine as it made my choice to have a big burger easy. Very good burger with all the toppings and a side of fries. Very nice staff, great burger and a history lesson the wall.

Aunt Netter's is such a homey styled small restaurant. Everyone feels comfortable in the welcoming atmosphere. Service is fairly quick and the staff are friendly and want to ensure you are happy and satisfied. My lunches have been very good. The pie is exceptional! Highly recommend Aunt Netter's

BEST cafe breakfast in the area. The hash browns are just so tasty crispy and moist. The link sausages have great peppery bite. My over medium eggs and English muffins were just right. Very friendly staff and guests; all make you feel welcome and appreciated.

I love this cafe. Have been having breakfast there for several years. The food is always good.

Aunt Netters is a small town gem. Quaint. Nothing fancy. Order at counter. Friendly service!!! Breakfast. Lunch. Tenderloin and Three Pigs are our favorites! The pie is the best! Peach, cherry, apple, peanut butter/chocolate, coconut cream. Cupcakes and cinnamon rolls. This place is a treasure!
