Just started but it seems ok. Went in with a mailer & they gave me a tour around the facility including the locker area, weights, group fitness rooms and cardio equipment. This was followed by a short sales pitch. I didn't want to sign up immediately, wanted a chance to try out the facility before committing and the representative seemed fine with that. I got a 3 day pass to come back and make sure it was a good fit, but everything seemed in good condition and rather new since the facility is less than a year old.I did notice that there was only a single disinfectant station for the entire, large cardio area so I can only assume that the equipment doesn't get regularly wiped down. I didn't see any employees doing maintenance nor clean up while I was there, but it was in the middle of the afternoon. Several stall in the restroom were out of TP, which does speak to a lack of attention but I'll be sure to note that on future reviews if it become an issue. Overall, it seems on the up-and-up. $199 enrollment fee waived for a $50 fee (with the mailer I brought in) along with a $50 processing fee (total $100 in fees for new members) then $20 for basic membership or $30 if you want to go to group classes....It did seem like a sale pitch, but hey, that's their job right? They have lots of equipment and it's all function, so that's all I really need in a gym.

I really need to cancel my membership here but it's 2min away from where I live! So I joined Aspen 1 year ago, thinking "oh it's a new year, new me" and all that New Years resolution crap. Well no, this gym didn't motivate me to go. If anything it did the opposite and I'll go into detail on that later on in this review.I will admit, I was a victim of their mail flyers. It was such a good deal (at the time), no contract, discounted initiation fee, $19.99/mon with access to any club. Who would want to pass that up? I ended up getting sucked in sadly. I didn't realize it at the time but now that I think about it, the sales associate made me feel guilty for passing up a good deal so I went for it. Don't get me wrong, Aspen is a nice facility with new and state of the art equipment, the locker rooms are clean and private. Everything is just so new! They provide daycare for an extra fee and classes for extra as well. You're probably wondering at this point why is she rating this place a 2 star when she's speaking so highly about it?! Keep reading and you'll see why...Well here's the kicker, I like going into a gym where I'll feel comfortable with my body and leave knowing that I had a great workout. No judge-y eyes, meat head hotties who think they're the shiz, and skinny chicks who think they're all that. Aspen is notorious for that population. It's not a bad thing, it's just not for me. I feel like I'm constantly being judge/stared at while I'm working out and I rather not have that feeling. The employees here does not want anything to do with you, at least every time I'm in they seem to avoid you. Aside from that, the scanner when you walk in is ALWAYS in a different location therefore when I do walk in I'm like a deer in headlights thinking where is the scanner this time?! It makes me feel like I'm such a newbie and I hate that feeling. I dread walking into the gym having fear of what fellow patrons will judge at this time. I shouldn't walk into a gym with that feeling. Also I leave as if I didn't get a decent workout in because I feel too self conscious to use the machines or even lift. The club hours aren't in my interest either. I work nights, therefore I will obviously prefer working out later in the night, I don't have too much of a problem during the week but on the weekends it's difficult to get a workout in when they close at 7pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Forgot to mention that I got charged $50 over on 1 month, not sure how or why but by the time I noticed it, I didn't care enough anymore to dispute. Maybe I should have? Ehh. Therefore Aspen is a nice facility with state of the art equipment but it's too generic of a gym for my taste. I continue to go for the sake of closeness. I do have a membership elsewhere that is 24/7 and consider that one as my go to gym since it's near where I work and use Aspen as my backup.

Ahhh I love the smell of a new gym... Housed in a vacant Circuit City building, Aspen is just what the Northland needed. Plenty of cardio machines, killer cycle and group fitness classes and a friendly staff. No waiting for a machine during prime time or listening to a bunch of meat heads grunt here! Clean locker rooms but do wish they had towel service.

Very clean, convenient to where I work. Equipment is very new and the staff seems pretty friendly. Nothing to call it beyond any other gym.

This gym has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. They were so rude to me and the childcare center is horribly run. Beware of this gym.

I trained with Josh for one month and it was great! He pushed me to my max and gave me a 30 minute workout each time we met that is better than any 1 hour session I would do on my own.

We have been going here for about 4 months now. Very clean and price is well worth it. My son goes to the day care while we work out, they got to know him personally and knew him by name on only the second visit. Staff is friendly and dani is and awesome trainer!

When we found out they were opening a new gym right by our house we were very excited. We had been members of 24 hour fitness for the last 3 years. We stopped by and signed up, staff was great but then again they were just selling memberships. Our gym was not going to be open till January, And the guy that signed us up gave us some 3 day VIP passes to use at the Liberty gym till ours was done. Two months later we made our first attempt at using the Pass. Were met at the door by the GM and told we could not come in and use the gym unless we resigned up at his gym at a higher price than we had signed up to use the one by the house. So it really shows how much we use a gym, once in 2 months, and it was a 30 minute drive, just to check it out and then get treated like crap, and not allowed to use the gym. Needless to say we canceled our membership and are going back to 24 hour, at least there we can use the gym anytime and have always had great customer service there. I would not recommend this gym to anyone, plus they are small compared to 24 hour where you can find them all over the place.

BEWARE! I'd avoid this gym like the plague... I received a 5-day pass for this new Liberty gym from a current member and decided to join them for a workout. I arrived a little behind schedule, leaving them waiting on me. After I handed the receptionist my 5-Day pass some guy came up and introduced himself. He told me that he just needed five minutes of my time to "activate" the trial. He also said at that time he had to "trade out my 5 Day pass to a different one." After over 20 minutes of the crudest sales pitch I have ever had a pleasure to be a part of, I insisted I needed to start working out. He said he'd leave my new pass at the front counter. After changing and using the restroom I wanted to wash my hands. There were no paper towels anywhere and the hand dryer was not operational. Cheap toilet paper didn't work so well. So I started working out... When we got done with our first workout I went to find a towel to wipe down the bench. They had spray bottles with sanitizer but every single one of the paper towel dispensers were completely empty. I decided to use the workout to run, the treadmill's were nice and new. When I finished there was no pass at the front counter. After waiting a few minutes I determined that I would get on their website and email the manager. It's been over two weeks and no one has responded to me. I'll run circles in my coat closet before I'll go back to this gym. I wouldn't pay a $1 a month to be a member here.

I was looking for something different and motivational. I think I finally found the closet I'll find in my area at Aspen. Initially, I was not pleased when I inquired about a trainer. I felt like he was a used car salesman. I made my feelings known and word seemed to spread really fast, as they bent over backward to accommodate me. I still put the personal trainer on hold for months and continued to enjoy the weights and various classes. I love the convenient location and the people seem to be serious about fitness. I'm not overly impressed with the Children's area, but its my understanding they're enlarging it. I'd say if they tweak the sales pitch and enlarge the child care, I'll be completely satisfied.
