Art Westport

Art Westport is my absolute favorite art fair in Kansas City, and for good reason! Held in the Westport neighborhood, this annual event showcases local artists and their incredible work, making it a unique and personal experience compared to larger art fairs like the Plaza Art Fair.What I love most about Art Westport is its commitment to supporting local talent. The artists come from all over the Kansas City area, and you can really feel the community spirit as you stroll through the booths filled with everything from stunning paintings and photography to handcrafted jewelry and ceramics. There's something for everyone, and I always leave feeling inspired!The atmosphere is fantastic, with live music and food vendors adding to the festive vibe. It's a perfect outing for families, friends, or even a date.If you're looking for a way to support local artists and enjoy a fun day out, I highly recommend checking out Art Westport every September. It's a true gem in Kansas City's cultural scene!

In September Westport has an art festival full of regional artists - photographers, ceramic artists, watercolors, oils....all in the laid-back atmosphere you won't find at the super-crowded, super-corporate Plaza Art Fair. I'd guess there were at least 40-50 booths and at the heart of it all, Westport Cafe serving beer and wine.The weather was really wonderful this last weekend and if you didn't make it out, you definitely missed out. It's always great to support local artists and find some great pieces for your home or office.
