Aroma bistro

Great place with great prices and good cocktails. Owner was super friendly, talked about how he changes up his beer list a lot. I got the Steak burrito and the steak was actually a fillet. So tender and so big!! I definitely will be back to try the dinner menu.

We arrived right on time for our 6:30 reservation after driving 45 minutes. The young man hosting checked us in and then came back to ask if we could wait a few minutes and we said of course but then looking around noticed several empty tables and 2 larger full tables, we were party of 5. I asked to clarify how long we would be waiting and he said 20 minutes, waiting for one of the bigger tables to leave. I suggested that they push a 2 top and 4 top together, he said no. I asked very politely to speak with a manager or owner and was told they were to busy. This seemed crazy. Finally a server came over and asked if we would be ok adding a seat to end of 4 top which we were. (Spoiler alert, the table he was asking us to wait for didn't get cleared until 7:15 pm, so we would have been waiting 45 minutes past our reservation time while other tables sat empty. Jocelyn was was the server and she was amazing. Now for the review:Ambiance- cute but so bright, they should invest in dimmers.Drinks- we all thought our cocktails were great but we did wait a long time for them. The bartender brought them out and was very nice but seemed very over extended. The water tastes pretty bad but a lemon wedge fixed it fine.Food- all of the food was very good!! I had the plobano chicken, we shared onion rings and queso. We ordered strawberry tres leches and bread pudding for dessert. They put a candle in the bread pudding because it was my birthday but they did not comp it, not that I expected that but it is obviously not unusual and given the way our evening started I might have expected some recovery action.Overall, the food is great. Jocelyn was great. Would I drive 45 minutes to go here? No. Our bill for party of 5 was $250. You might think the owner or manager might have come out to apologize for the reservation mess and attitude of the host, he got very snippy with us.

A complete disaster! Menu offers salmon with risotto, advertises tiramisú as well... they said they didn't have any and I had to buy a side of risotto, so I did! First of all risotto is a very rich side, I rather quality than this huge bowl of regular rice mixed with canned mushroom soup and cheese... everything in this rice is disappointing, please... No tiramisú, so I picked 3 leches... please again! Go to costa Rica or Nicaragua and have a real Tres Leches so you can offer something better than that cake. Salmon picatta... it wasn't dry which is great, you can tell is farmed though. Potatos and capers extremely salty no good, roasted tomatos ok so basically I just ate the salmon and tomatos Someone needs to take cooking classes in order to have guests coming back. I won't go back or recommend this place.

If you've never been, Aroma's location and interior may seem sus. You may think, "Hm... I don't know about this place." However, I went during restaurant week, and it took first place amongst all the places I tried. Their crab cake was DELICIOUS, their filet and fries were tasty (though could have been seasoned more), and their creme brulee was good. I'd definitely recommend this restaurant to others!

Stopped in for a late lunch on a weekday afternoon. The place was not busy...but the service was slow and rather poor. The " hostess" who seated us seemed less than interested. It took 25 minutes to get our order. ( cup of soup and 1/2 salad)! There were 2 cooks in the kitchen from what I could see. Now disregarding the service, the food was very good. The soup, chicken and rice was more like chicken vegetable. It was a tomato base with a variety of different vegetables and large chicken chunks. The half salad was a generous portion. I selected the country chicken salad with pickled beets, goat cheese , spring greens , pumpkinseeds, grilled chicken breast and balsamic dressing. The flavors combined well. Good food but subpar service.

I had never been to the Aroma Bistro before, but I was taken there by family to celebrate my birthday. Upon walking in you get the sense that the restaurant is cute, very clean, and quaint. The waitress was very polite and attentive to our needs. I decided to order the Aroma Burger which was on the Brunch Menu. The burger was AMAZING and the fries that came with it are my favorite kind. My only slight complaint is that the burger wasn't as Well as I requested, however, it was still fully cooked and delicious. The wait time was a little bit longer than normal this visit, but we also had a party of 7 so I understand the different cook times. I for sure would recommend this business!

Location: Smithville Missouri Ambiance: indoor seating. Family place. More lunch and dinner than breakfast.Food: delicious. Burger had a sweet mayo sauce that is a MUST if you go there it is the chipotle aioli. Turkey sandwich was also great. The price is excellent. They put a Mexican touch to everything, which is awsome.Service: outstanding

Food is excellent and so is the service! Very cute place to stop in town. Water may be a bit iffy but get an iced tea, you'll have a great time.

Really great food and service. Hidden gem out here where you're never guess.The queso dip was fabulous and we all had the chilequiles poblanos which we had on our last visit -- terrific sauce and really nice filet with his one for brunch.

Valentines' day 2025, Made reservations January 12th we were 1st on the list for the 4:30 seating. Arrived too the site of 10 couples standing outside the door or in the small entry way. They had obviously allowed to many walk in customers earlier that they could not process through to allow for 4:30 seatings. That wasn't even the problem that initiated this review. We were seated then several other couples were seated after us in our area. Who do you think sat there and watched everybody else in our section get water and order their food? We just walked 0 customer service!!!! Come on you have to do better than that it is basic 101 customer service you don't serve the people that came in late 1st.
