Argosy Casino & Hotel

Argosy is a fun place to play some games and get a bite to eat. I do wish they had more casual dining options and a buffet again, but 99 Hopps is pretty decent with decent prices and service. The slot and video poker selection is pretty decent, definitely better than harrahs. The place has a good vibe and drink servers come by with carts which is nice since the soda machines are long gone since Covid.It would be great if they would bring back self serve soda machines and the buffet, the Covid excuse is way old. Another casual eatery like Crazy Olives used to be would be nice, or have the steakhouse open more with some different options.

The worst casino experience I've had. New to the KC area and Argosy has been my go-to spot, but after today I'll have to go elsewhere. They were doing maintenance or something so machines only took cash. No big deal, take the ticket to the cashier and get cash. The first time, the cashier acted annoyed and huffed when I came up with a ticket. The second time I got a "back again already?" and she copped an attitude through the whole transaction. The third time, she did not even say a word, just an upset look on her face despite my attempt at small talk and made it SUPER uncomfortable. Mind you, this was not 3 visits within 10 minutes, but 3 visits within nearly 2 hours. I don't expect everyone to smile and be bubbly, but at least don't act like doing your job is my fault. Honestly after the third visit, I just spent what I had and left. One staff member walking around was also an issue but if you're looking for a good casino experience, look elsewhere.

I've visited a few times to gamble and eat.Everything was a-ok.They gaming area is perfectly acceptable.Your normal slots and table games are there. A poker room is too.The employees are nice, however the room gives off a bit of a sad smoky vibe and the gamblers reflect it.There just doesn't seem to be any energy.I'm not sure what the answer is, however the casino has been around for a while, so it might be time for an update.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! Upon check in these people claimed the 8th floor was non-smoking but after our 3rd of 7 nights they rented the adjacent room to smokers. I have C.O.P.D. (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) and can not be around second hand smoke for any long periods of time. In fact I shouldn't be subjected to cigarette smoke at all. When we made our reservation we were also told at that time that the hotel was non-smoking.Our room started stinking more and more to the point that on the 4th night it was so bad that we couldn't sleep at all so we tried placing a towel at the bottom of the connecting door but that didn't stop it. I called down to the desk and the women said "The 8th floor is no-smoking. I then told her "Then you rented the next room to smokers". She asked me to hold and after several minutes she hung up. We waiting almost an hour for her to come up to the floor or at the very least call us back but NOTHING!So we packed up and at 3:30 AM we left. We were much better off spending the last day of our vacation at the airport then live with that stink. Also, we both stepped up close to the other rooms front door and not only were these people still awake but the smoke was coming out from under the door stinking up the hall way. You could smell the cigarette smoke all the way down the hall to the elevators.This was all bad enough but this was the first hotel we've ever stayed at that doesn't have locks/latches on their doors. Anyone with a pass key can just walk right in. They also think is a good idea to not have automatic door closers so all night long you can here the doors slamming closed.I sent them an email but they completely ignored it. Worst $1,100.00 bucks we've ever spent.There's plenty of really nice placed to stay that are truly "Smoke Free" so PLEASE stay away from this place.

We stopped in for burgers and fries. Our food was fresh and our server was polite and attentive. My fiancé and I both ordered double smash burgers. They were absolutely delicious!

We love Argosy Casino. It's a Casino people! You literally are gambling so really cannot complain when we don't do well. We win some and we lose some but we always have a great time and we are responsible when doing so. Jaime is the best bartender, we really don't care for any of the other but that just our personal opinions. 99 Hops is decent, Lotus is hit or miss, and Leo's Deli serves up consistent quality food. We love Leo's Deli so much, just wish their hours were expanded a bit (open earlier). We will continue to return.

OK, here is yet another yelp review that I'm sure won't matter, but if it can help other people great. My girlfriend and I came here for a overnight getaway. Out of all the casinos in the Kansas City area this one was always the nicest in a safe area. We got to the room and immediately noticed what appeared to be bloody phlegm or a bloody snot rocket on the bottom of the shower floor. I immediately contacted the front desk who said they would send somebody up to clean it. Hours later nobody. Tried calling back later again in the evening, no answer. called the front desk the next morning, lady answers, tells me nobody from the cleaning crew is in until 830. now understand, every single person that I talked to did not seem disturbed in the least bit about this and acted like it was really not a big deal. I understand that in the grand scheme of things this isn't the most disgusting but ranks right up there. definitely disgusting enough that I'm not cleaning it up myself. Secondly, this is supposed to be a smoke-free room. Every time the air conditioning unit would come on It was almost like they were piping in air from the casino floor. We both woke up in the morning hacking and our stuff all smelling like cigarette smoke. WiFi never allowed me to connect, TV remote wouldn't work and all for the cost of $150/night. We won't be coming back.

Could be one of the filthiest places I've stayed in my 65 years. I'm not a clean freak by any means but the room I stayed in over the weekend was absolutely unacceptable the added resort fees need to be given to someone who can clean. Then NO hot water shower or sink. NO lukewarm water. Only ice cold water. Impossible to wash hair and shower. Pictures show dead bugs on shelf and extreme filth. Since the vent was covered, we coughed, sneezed, runny nose and congestion. Their lack of television stations and small television didn't help. The restaurants however, were excellent both food and service. But I would never recommend staying there

I will definitely not go anywhere near this one even though the location is convenient. People like us that take the time to give a review make a huge difference. And the management of this establishment obviously doesn't get it. I hope you have a Merry Christmas, and they don't. LOL.

The hotel experience could improve drastically. If you're looking for a room service do not stay here. They advertise they have it, but they do not have room service right now. They lie to your face and tell you at the front desk they do. I stayed here four days and they do not not for breakfast lunch or dinner. If you're looking for a full breakfast meal in the morning, even in a restaurant, you won't find it. The restaurant doesn't open till noon. They expect you to order DoorDash or GrubHub or Uber eats. Secondly, they advertise in the room that they have a robot will deliver Housekeeping goods. Housekeeping doesn't come in till 8 AM so if you need coffee at 6 AM, 4 cups of sugar or anything towels, you have to come down to the front desk and get them yourself. This is not a good hotel to stay at anymore. Someone had smoked weed in my room before I checked in don't know if it was Housekeeping or the previous customer. I called down to the front desk immediately and they didn't apologize or anything or offered to change rooms. I stayed here 3 1/2 years ago and had a great experience for three days. This time was the worst experience and I will not be back to Argosy ever. There's shameful what they're doing here. They say short staff is why they didn't have dinner room service the other night but that's because they cut all the room service staff and there is no room service. I stayed here in particularly for room service and I don't have a car here cause I flew in so what does a person like me supposed to do. Starve till noon. Just ridiculous. But they will lie to you on the phone and the lie straight to your face at the front desk. Most people probably don't stay four days straight so they don't notice. I'm letting you know don't waste your money here. That's all I'm gonna say because I don't wanna go on and on, but I was very disappointed and it ruined my trip overall. If I could leave zero stars I would.
