Love how Brookside has so many parks and playgrounds! This park has to be particularly clutch for parents because it's seamlessly baked into the neighborhood and easily accessed by hundreds (thousands?) of homes. For us, it's a bike ride away, but again, Brookside for the win -- just hop on the Trolley Trail to 66th Terrace and then make your way east a few blocks for a safe ride. We hitched up the bike trailer and rode to nearby McClain's Bakery first for a great start to the day.We were bummed the junior pool is closed for the 2021 season. It would be such a great option to get out, and not quite sure why? The Loose Park splash pad appears to be open this year, but this feels neglected. The park itself is great; tennis courts, a little room for well-behaved dogs to fetch a few short throws, and a nice playground. The playground has big/little swings, slides, little rubber hills, and some climbing equipment. There are some miscellaneous tricycles and kids toys strewn about which is kinda nice, but some need replacement if I'm being honest. Oh one more important thing, at least in the morning: SHADE! I can't speak to summer afternoons, but seemingly every playground bakes around here. This one has a lot of trees so it's possibly a better option than others. This will be a fun part of our summer activity list for sure.

Great little park in Armour Hills. The kids pool is only open in June and July but is very popular with kids. The playground equipment is adequate but is going to be replaced soon. The tennis court was just rebuilt this spring and some exercise equipment added. Not the largest park but very convenient for the neighborhood.
