So excited that this is in the neighborhood. Small and quaint, but spaced out enough so that you feel like you still have your own space to eat. Love the decor and ambiance. I've seen all different types of people here with varying group sizes, including families with children. They are very accommodating. There aren't a lot of tables so if you'd like to sit down quickly with a large group, come early. I got the garlic ramen and it was great... not too salty. It was a huge bowl but I ate it all up. I definitely will be back!

Came here for lunch on a very cold February day and it was great! We were looking specifically for ramen, live in Olathe but were in Lenexa for appts, and thought we'd check out Aoyama Ramen in Olathe but they are closed on Mondays. I didn't even know this location existed until Yelp told me it was close to our appointment. We shared the gyoza which was so great, plump and perfectly steamed with a crispy bottom. Then I got the Tonkotsu Classic Ramen and it was amazing! The broth had great flavor. I took about half home and it reheated great too. The owner was super nice and the inside is cute but small!

Hands down our favorite ramen joint in KC. The service is always top-notch - fast and friendly. And their broth is amazing! Gyoza is my daughter's favorite of any place she has been. It's a must try!

I'm always down to try a new ramen spot and was excited to learn that this opened up nearby. I placed an order online without any issues. The interior isn't huge. It's a pretty small spot but there are some seats. I loved the giant Godzilla mural. It's super cute. They also have a cooler in the front with various soft drinks but also sake! I had to get some sake to go and it was easily added onto my order. I decided to try the Bang Bang Shrimp: crispy tempura fried shrimp tossed in a sweet chili sauce. They were pretty large and were good. I also got an order of gyoza: crispy pan fried dumplings stuffed with pork and cabbage. I would definitely order them again and recommend them! They were my favorite of the two. I tried the Tonkotsu Classic Ramen: thick, rich, creamy 15 hour pork broth topped with chashu, seasoned egg, bean sprout, scallion, and nori. The soup was delicious and the to go packaging was excellent at keeping everything fresh. The portion sizes are average on the Ramen. But it's not super tiny, it's just right.I will definitely be back for more Ramen, and would recommend this business to anyone looking for some comfort food.

When I learned this place had opened near me, I ordered delivery from it. It was packaged with care and delivered to me in a timely manner. I appreciated that they separated the noodles from the liquid broth of the ramen. I combined them together in my own larger bowl, and enjoyed it with the disposable wood chopsticks they had packed with it.The small amount of meat with my noodles was tasty and flavorful. The broth and noodles were okay and pretty typical. Not very thick. The broth was a bit salty, and not very rich in flavor. It was a good meal, but I think I will want to try a different type of ramen before ordering this one again. Maybe I need to eat it in the restaurant as well. I have heard very good things about this place and would like to try to experience that for myself.

FPO and I had been hearing rumors of a second Aoyama Ramen in Shawnee for some time, but all we knew was that it was opening early 2024. It was pure dumb luck we heard January 15th too. The first Friday evening after we decided to drive by. And we saw the blue and red neon open sign in the window!Aoyama Ramen is located in the same shopping center as Johnny's Tavern, Savers, and Fat Bee's. From the outside their sign is small so you have to be in the general area to see them. I heard there used to be a fried fish place in their location (if that helps anyone). Inside it's got the same Godzilla mural as the original. They've also got a large KC Chiefs arrowhead on another wall and nicely framed pictures of some of their menu items being made. FPO and I had a debate going about which location was larger. We think the original is probably bigger, but this new space seems larger because it's a lot brighter. When we walked in there were only two employees in the front of the house and every table was taken. There were a few seats at the ramen bar available. It was a little after 5:30. Things seemed to be going pretty smoothly. The manager was super nice. I'm still on crutches and he noticed us waiting to be seated. He went up to a couple of guys who'd just sat at a table and asked them if they would mind relocating to the bar so we could have the (lower) table. The menus showed a couple of items we hadn't seen at the original Aoyama Ramen including Tempura Brussel Sprouts, which I had to try along with my usual Tonkatsu Classic Ramen. FPO stuck with the Tako Yaki appetizer and Beef Sukiyaki Don. I would have been happy if the food was as good as the original location. I liked it better here. The Tonkatsu seemed to have more depth to it, like it was charred (maybe) before being added to the ramen. Whatever the case, it was good. With snow on the ground and temps hovering around 5 degrees, it was a prefect night for Aoyama Ramen.

Food-5/5Service-5/5Atmosphere-4.5/5What's better than a nice bowl of ramen? We went here on a Sunday night and we were thrilled that there were a good amount of people there. We ordered the special drinks for Valentine's Day weekend, I had the Sakura Blossom and my husband had the Green Tea drink. They were both very tasty. We had the gyoza as an appetizer and as someone who used to live in Japan I can be very critical of gyoza but theirs was very tasty! Crispy on one side and chewy overall just like it is supposed to be. I had the garlic ramen as my entree and it was super tasty! You can taste all the yummy garlic and the broth is rich. If you are looking for ramen, you don't need to look any further.

Tried the Aoyama Ramen in Shawnee tonight. It's easy to find in the same parking lot as Johnny's and Savers. The shop is small, with about 6 tables, and a long side bar for dining in. It's very clean and friendly space. Tables can easily be pushed together for a larger group of needed.I tried the Mi-So Hot, which had a vibrant pork broth, fresh bean sprouts and scallions, seasoned egg, and ground pork. This ramen was exactly what I needed today. My husband had the Aoyama Spicy and was equally happy with his choice.Service was friendly and fast, and our ramen was perfect. We look forward to trying the rest of the menu.
