Nice little piece of green space nestled in along the busy (noisy) interstate. It's not your usual park with lots of play equipment or ball fields, but there are a couple of nice memorial markers, a short walking path, and a stellar fountain. The first 'real' fountain north of the river is found here, another in a long list of sensational sites in the City of Fountains. But the best viewing is the memorial to the veterans of Clay County who have fallen in every conflict back to the Civil War. Names are etched in stone to forever commemorate the sacrifices made and flags are flown both in reverence to those missing and remembrance to those lost.Maybe it's not a playground, it's just a park. But it's an important one to know about and maybe make a brief visit.

Very well-manicured and taken care of Park in the Kansas City metro area. They have a tribute to the veterans which is well taken care of and visited often. This is also the location where the fountain is changed different colors for the Royals against the Chiefs. The walking trail has plenty of walking room and with for strollers and pets.

Home to Kansas City's 1st fountain north of the river, Anita B. Gorman park is situated between I-29 and Vivion Rd @ N.Oak. The fountain is large and a beautiful landmark for this ugly corner of box stores and strip malls. It is one of the few fountains that is allowed to freeze over in the winter making a great ice sculpture. It has concrete "trails" that lead down Vivion and connect to the YMCA and Golds gym. Plans include lengthening them several miles down Vivion to connect to other parks and trails. Great greenspot with a convenient location for walking, jogging or taking the dogs for a stroll.
