Under new ownership and new name. Very pleasant room and good service. Food presentation was very nice. Unfortunately the flavors did not equal the presentation, rather bland.

So, FPO and I were actually headed for Taco Naco last night (I really need to finish that review) but for once we were there and the open sign was illuminated for Amir Mediterranean Grill and Bakery. Taco Naco looked to be pretty packed, per usual on a Saturday night and we've really been wanting to try Amir for a while so we headed there to take a look at the menu. When you walk in, it looks like a take out place but to the left they have dine in seating. There was only one couple in the place when we got there. Since we're still relative Mediterranean food newbies we were dependent on the staff to explain several of the dishes. We got the Baba Ghanouj to start, FPO got the Gyro plate and I got the Shawarma plate. The plates come with with a soup or salad. We decided to dine in. It was a little cold, I think because there were only four people in the dining area. The restaurant was very clean and they had an 80's love song station playing so it was very mellow. The food was all super tasty. The Baba Ghanouj had smokey taste to it that was different to me. I usually prefer hummus. But, I liked it and the bread that came with it. They served a Greek Salad that was really good. The vegetables were cut so they were easy to eat and the dressing was tangy with a Kalamata flavor to it without actually having Kalamata olives. FPO thought the gyro meat was a little salty but I thought the Shawarma was just fine. The plates came with hummus and a yellow rice and more bread. The portions are good-sized. The people are very friendly, polite, and attentive. On the way out we also tried their Baklava. If I hadn't already decided that there's going to be a next time, that alone would've been enough to get me back. Through the door.

My dine-in lunch experience at this new restaurant was okay overall. My gyro plate ($12.99) was ready 12 minutes after I ordered at the counter, where the service from the owner was pleasant. The plate included a nicely sized and okay salad, a piece of fresh, warm pita bread, a fair quantity of cubed meat on a generous amount of moist, yellow rice, sliced banana peppers and chilled tzatziki sauce. The dining room was basic and clean with Mediterranean background music, and I was checked on to make sure everything was satisfactory. When I paid before leaving I noticed I was overcharged for the meal ($14.30 before tax instead of $12.99) - not cool. I'm hoping it was an opening week mistake and I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt.I wish they offered reasonably priced combos that didn't include fries like a sandwich with side salad so as to keep it healthy. Overall, A-OK.

The restaurant is very clean and the owner and manager is very personable. The food is terrific. The kabob both chicken and beef is great quality and moist. The hummus is perfect. The menu also has some unique items and everything tastes great. The baklava is the perfect topping to a great meal at a great value.Nothing fancy but they do have adequate dine in too.Great food at a great price.

When we entered, there was one other small family there. We sat down and started looking at the menu. One of the gentlemen working called me over to the counter to give me samples of a dessert because he said it would be three minutes before he could take my order. I told him that was fine because we had not looked at their menu before arriving.I ended up ordering the Gyro Sandwich combo (that comes with fries and drink). The man who originally greeted us had not come back in "three minutes" so I ordered with another younger man who was working there. He did repeat the order to me and we had to go over it a few times until I felt like he got it right. We also ordered the Greek Sampler with lentil soup as our option. While we waited they started bringing out the other people's food and I noticed they had to keep asking for one person's order and then basically had to ask for items that were missed from their orders one thing at a time.So I guess I shouldn't be surprised when they brought out the Greek Sampler first (after our drinks) which is fine, they might have thought it was an appetizer. I reminded them about the soup and they were kind of like "yeah yeah soup". Then my sandwich came out. I reminded them about fries and they seemed surprised that I had ordered fries. So I started eating my sandwich slowly because I wanted the fries. Reminded them about the soup. Finally got the soup and they said they'd give me two order of fries (one "on the house"). I really just wanted the order of fries I ordered. I finally decided I might as well finish eating my sandwich. They brought out extra pita (not sure why) but it was "on the house". Finally got the two orders of fries. They were definitely freshly cooked. They weren't bad fries, but no offer of ketchup or anything and by that time I really could not have cared less about fries. It was a small portion of fries (if you only look at the one portion I ordered). Doesn't seem worth the amount they add on to make it a combo, but at least they were fresh. The menu didn't explain what was in the sampler. It ended up being dolmas, baba ganoush and hummus with pita and tzatziki. The lentil soup was okay, but seemed like it might be pre-packaged (don't know that for sure).I enjoyed my Gyro sandwich. It was very good. With a good amount of meat that was juicy and flavorful. I forgot to order it without lettuce, but it was still good and not over-packed with lettuce. The addition of banana peppers (or something similar) was unexpected but really good. When I paid, the first gentleman asked how things were, I told him the food was good but they have to work on the ordering process because it was a mess. I could say that from my own experience and watching that other family having to beg for each of their items over and over as well.He said it was because they don't have their POS system yet because it has to have special software to help with the ordering and paying, but to me that doesn't really make up for the fact that the first person wrote down my order and even after going over the order several times, even when I went to pay, that no one could get the order right. So, maybe someone needs to be taught how to write an order out or something. In any case, the food was good. The place is small but comfortable and nice inside. The traffic on busy Farmers Market day was a little wild, but that's not their fault. I will maybe give them a try later to see if they smooth out the process, but it was very difficult at least now as they are new and getting things figured out.

Yum! Loved the grape leaves, vegetarian and served cold. TK suggested the lentil soup and it was pleasantly different. More like split pea soup thank traditional chunky lentils. When he heard it was our first time he gave us both a complimentary piece of Baklava. Shwarma plate was enjoyable and the pita was fresh. Glad to have this as a good option in OP!

The food is really tasty, especially the lentil soup and the hummus. We have eaten there twice--sampling a lot of the menu. Stuffed grape leaves, divine. Gyro plate, filling and not greasy. Zaatar manekesh, crisp yet fluffy. The baklava is easily some of the best I've ever had. The one thing I would criticize is that they have left out one or two items of our orders each time.

This is not what it was only a month or so ago. Different food, different owners, same name. I came expecting the good Mediterranean food I've had several times this past winter only to find a poor approximation of the old menu but made with all the wrong things, now paired with an "American" breakfast and lunch menu. It's practically a bait and switch hoping to convert old customers to what is in fact an entirely different restaurant. What was here was fresh, and kind of edible. But it was not in any sense the quality authentic Mediterranean that was here on 2022.

We have been wanting to try Amir's for some time. I am sorry to say we waited so long. Everything we were treated to was spectacular, from the lentil soup, to the shawarma, to the kabob sandwich, to the just right, bite-sized baklava. We even brought a beef & cheese pie home with us. If it sounds like we had a hard time deciding what to order, we did! They go out of their way to make certain everything is prepared according to healthy halal standards. Even the iced tea was top-notch. We had a wonderful dinner & look forward to returning again & again.
