American Eagle Outfitters

I ran into this AE store on a Thursday evening to grab a few Christmas presents. It was great timing because I was the only person in the store for most of the time. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They checked for sizes and colors for me in the back and for those that they didn't have they simply ordered them online and shipped (free) them to my house. The workers were also in the process of putting out new items and brought them out to show me. So it sounds like the staff has certainly improved since the last review. They made it easy and enjoyable to get some Christmas shopping done.

This is probably the worse AE I've ever been to. The customer service sucks. You'd expect decent customer service when there are at least 4 employees and a total of 2 customers in the entire store. But the employees were too distracted talking with each other to acknowledge the customers that walked in the store. We had to continuously ask for one of them to open up a fitting room (mind you, I had no idea who this other customer was but I felt like we provided more help to each other than the actual employees did). Then, when I went to check out I stood there for a while before someone came up (there were 2 employees standing by the registers and neither decided to tell whoever was worker registers that there was a customer, nor did they even have the decency to at least ask me if I was ready to check, not even a peep. Just awkward eye contact) I get it it's customer service but at least fake it. After all, I've worked in retail for over a few years and 98% of that was at an American Eagle so I know how it works.

The clearance section in this store is amazing, however the customer service is not. I saw an employee and asked for a dressing room & instead of being nice she responded with attitude saying "I was getting to it" when I went to pay the same employee gave attitude before & still continued to. If I wouldn't have found such great deals I would have put it all back.

AE Jeans are really my favorite.. especially since they have gone back to selling short sizes in the store (it was really annoying for that brief time they didn't) - but I really have to say the same thing I say about other stores AE has. Not enough room, at all. The aisles are small and don't allow room for people to pass by without having to make a battle plan to do so. Registers move quick, wish you didn't have to wait for someone to unlock dressing rooms, because some times no one is available.

If my daughter wouldnt have really wanted the items we bought I would have walked right out of this store. Rude. Rude. In contrast we walked into Buckle & Altered States, were greeted and politely helped. Perfect! It's a good thing that we really didn't find much we were excited about there.#Substandard

I used to shop at AE when I was younger and I have checked back from time to time to see if they have anything for me as a female in my upper 20's. I walked in to this particular store today and started looking around. I made my way toward the middle of the store near the counter where 3 youthful employees were talking. They were bad-mouthing someone about a new diet she was on. I kept looking around at clothes. I began to carry items to try on. There was one other customer in the store carrying items to try on as well. The 3 employees were in their own world. I used to work in retail stores and we were always supposed to greet customers and offer to get them a fitting room once they had some items in their arms. One employee looked up at me and I smiled - she just looked away and started twirling her key ring around. I gave her a pass thinking maybe she just wasn't thinking about much when she looked my way. I went to the fitting room area and no one was around. I waited a bit and then walked back toward the counter. The same girl walked past me to the fitting rooms and looked at me. She went back to the counter and said "oh do you like need a room?" I said "Yes that would be great". I tried the clothes on and no one ever checked on me.I wanted to buy a shirt but I decided not to because the customer service was rude at best, non-existent at the worst.
