Positives: The staff was very nice. Negatives: No disinfecting between guests. Not ideal in a COVID-19 world. The creek is gross. Trash gathering floating on the sides. Smells very bad. Ride is short and not much to see.

Thank you so much! This was such a huge treat with my dad while I was in town! We went here after dinner and took a father daughter gondola ride, it was so sweet! This little spot is such a Plaza hidden gem! You walk up to a little booth to check in and wala, next thing you know, you're stepping into a mini getaway vacation!I loved this, icing on the cake to my trip home!

This is our favorite place to go on The Plaza for warm summer nights. My wife and I enjoy taking a float before and/or after dinner. Great staff !

I was so excited when I googled "boat rides in Kansas City" when planning a night out with my boyfriend. This looked perfect and romantic. I scheduled about two weeks in advance for the "Special Occasions" package which included a long-stemmed rose, two souvenir glasses, a bottle of sparkling cider/juice, chocolates, a handful of helium balloons, and a custom-cake from a local bakery. I paid the $100ish dollars for the package and immediately I got a call asking what I wanted to write on the cake. I was impressed with the prompt service and couldn't wait for the gondola ride. When we got to the ride, I felt like I was being talked down to. I'm not sure why they felt like they had to tell me I needed to tip the gondolier (seems like a pretty obvious courtesy and "make sure to tip your gondolier" was also written on the ticket). I'm 18, so I still look pretty young, but I thought this was a little unprofessional. The lady at the front desk confirmed that I had purchased the "Special Occasions Package" and I received my bag full of Russel Stover's chocolates, the glasses, bottle of sparkling juice, and the rose. Everything looked beautiful. I did kind of wonder where the custom cake and balloons were, but I figured they would be given to us on the ride. When we got down to the water, we were warmly greeted by our Gondolier. (I forgot his name but I believe it started with an S). He was super nice and helped us into the boat. He also took a picture of us on the gondola before the ride which was great. The boat was so cute and decorated really pretty. The ride itself was really relaxing and romantic and the music was wonderful. Our gondolier even sang a song for us in Italian. He was great! When we stopped, however, I realized the ride only went about 18 minutes instead of the 25-30 advertised on the website. This was disappointing. I tipped the gondolier 20% of the package price and he gave us some great ideas to spend the rest of our night. When we got back to the ticket office, I realized we never received our cake and balloons. I told the lady at the front this and she said that they didn't have any cakes. I explained that I got the call confirming what I wanted the cake to be and she went to talk to our gondolier. He apologized and said it was his mistake and refunded us for the price of the "romance package" which is what we actually received instead. Overall, I was pretty disappointed though as I was looking forward to the extra add-ons. In addition, I tipped based on the price of the package, so I lost more money than I should have. I'll hopefully receive the refund within the next week. If you're looking for something different to do in KC, this is a good choice. Be aware that you probably won't get everything you paid for though.

The most amazing night of my life.It was all set up, a graceful and romantic glide down the relaxing waterway in an elegant Venetian style Gondola. As we were drinking our sparkling cidar and enjoying our time together, the Gondolier spoke. "There is something floating in the water, would you mind picking it up for me. - We like to help keep the water clean" This was a little strange to me, but none the less my boyfriend reached over the boat and out of the water he pulled a beautifully decorated bottle that appeared to have a letter in it. He popped the cork and took out the letter. I began to cry as he started to read. After he finished the letter, he got on one knee (yes, in the gondola) and asked me "will you marry me?" all I could say was "of course!" It was the most romantic, special night of my life.Thank you for the work you put into this! It was seriously a night I will never forget!

Not worth the $50! It was a very short ride, the canal was littered with a lot of trash & there were a lot of homeless people hanging out by the canal. It was definitely not the perfect ambiance.

I decided to propose to my girlfriend (now Fiance) with a romantic gondola ride on the Plaza. The person who assisted me to come up with a plan was very helpful, and pulled off the entire plan without a hitch! My now fiance was SO happy and pleased! Thank you Ambiance on the Water for a night to remember for life!

We paid $200 for the Birthday Package and it was a complete rip off. Some plastic got stuck in the gondola motor mechanism. We spent most of our ride being pulled along next to the sidewalk. After finally pulling out a plastic bag we went back out for about 5 minutes. NEVER AGAIN!! I cant believe this place stays in business. I guess I'm not the only sucker out here!!

The idea of taking the gondola ride was very romantic. I was very disappointed with my husband in the shortness of the trip. We were told the trip would last 30 to 35 minutes and it barely made. Smiles and Excuses for the tine were all we got . It was still a great idea and I loved the romantic aspect of it.

This was one of the highlights of my weekend in KC. Ambiance on the Water was conveniently near our hotel and easy to find. Joey kept in contact with us and confirmed our appointment thirty minutes prior. This was a relaxing and enjoyable experience on the creek for our group. Loved the music and roses!
