This store is a little treasure trove! If you want fairly priced bulk nuts, spices, and dried fruits, this is your place to go! I've been searching everywhere for a spice store that sells bulk garam masala, and this place has it! They also always have frozen falafel which is great! But the real treat is the fresh pita bread that they sell every day but Monday! Get to city market early on the weekends because it'll be picked over by the afternoon! Grab some fresh pita and some baba ganoush, and you're in for a treat!

Solid store with more spices on hand than you'll ever come close to using. Came looking for a mortar and pestle which they don't carry but after talking to the gentleman at the cash register while buying some mixed dried fruits (delicious, I might add, and favorably priced) he said, "I never thought that might be a good match for our store. I might look into carrying them."If nothing else, walk in for the free aroma therapy that changes depending upon where you walk. A great additional to the River Market in my opinion.

Not the friendliest staff but they offer the best pita breads I have ever tried. The breads are still warm when you purchase them. They're freshly baked everyday and they're recently priced at $2.75. I'm not a fan of Monday's bread since that's the only day they have a different vendor making it. Go early in the morning as the breads tend to sell out by the afternoon. Make sure to store the breads in the freezer unless you will be consuming within days, they will go bad. I just started buying feta cheese from them as well, the brand they offer is spectacular. The feta cheese comes in salted water and has butter like consistency. I'll never buy feta from anywhere else.

This is by far my most FAVORITE restaurant in the City Market! The baklava is so good it should be its own meal! My go to item is their jasmine rice...so good! Friendly service & quaint location make this a weekly stop for me!

The owners of this store are incredibly rude. They are not grateful at all for anyone's business and try to herd people in and out without any effort at customer service. They sell many middle-Eastern products, including bulk nuts, halal meats, and imported chocolates. Every single one of their products is over-priced and can be bought for much cheaper at Pak Halal or the Swagat Spice Bazaar. Furthermore, most of the wares sold here are not even good quality. I think it's sad that so many people shop here, thinking they are getting "authentic" middle-Eastern stuff when, in reality, most of it is just mediocre. But even if Al-Habashi Mart had the best wares on the planet, I wouldn't set foot in there if you paid me simply because the two men who run the store are rude, cantankerous assholes.

I walked into the store. I wanted to make conversation with the owner. He told me to go F myself. He said "Cut the bull crap get the f out of my store" I simply was talking about Olives and where they come from. The owner was very hostile. I will never shop there again. This is not how you treat people. Period.
