Aixois a local French bistro in town center plaza with a great laid back feel. You feel like you are stepping into a bistro in France. The owners have done a great job of capturing the essence and vibe of a French bistro. Service was great and friendly and the food was just as great. The ingredients were top quality and the portion sizes were just right. Definitely a spot I plan to go back to in the future.

This is my daughter's restaurant of choice for her Birthday. Ambiance is casual to fancy casual (as we call it). Service is very casual but we attribute that to the European vibe. We have only eaten on patio which is nice, especially when the weather is mild. The two times we have eaten here the food has been great. The French onion soup is wonderful. This year the family had two of the dinner specials and two of the regular dinner menu items. I had the Swordfish (dinner special) that came with a mango salsa, rice pilaf and greens. My husband had the Skirt steak (dinner special) with chimichurri, garlic mashed potatoes and greens. My son had the Duck leg confit DeCanard (reg. Menu) with a veal demiglace, garlic mash and a vegetable. My daughter had the Onglet grillé Au poivre (regular menu) grilled skirt steak with peppercorn sauce, salad and pommes frites. Everything was delightful as always.

Ambiance: 10/10 Service: 10/10Food: 7/10 This is one of the loveliest restaurants in Kansas City. The patio and interior are beautiful. I liked everything about the relaxed feel of this restaurant. It is perfect for an intimate dinner date or a get-together with friends. The service was great as well! Our server was attentive and friendly, and we never had to wait for a drink refill. I really wanted to love this place, but the food was a bit of a letdown. The meal started off strong with the tasty French baguette and butter. However, I would say some of the food lacked seasoning. While my french onion soup looked amazing, it tasted a little bland. The mussels were just ok. The steak was pretty tasty and well-seasoned. The fries were delicious. I really wanted to try the dessert, but we were too full by the end of the meal to order dessert. I would like to come back here just for drinks and dessert, to enjoy the ambiance again.

I enjoyed this spot for a French ambiance. Really tasteful and elegant both inside and out. The service was really friendly. Give 5 stars for both of those. 3.5 stars for food. It was well cooked and nicely presented. I felt it lacked a bit of flavor and the smoked salmon on my brunch entree was not the best piece of salmon. The chocolate croissant wasn't as flaky as I was hoping for, but would try a different bakery item in future. I would come here on a nice day for a cappuccino, and opt for different items to give it another try based on good location, service and ambiance.

Stopped in for restaurant week and overall I don't think it is worth the money but I'm still glad we tried it. The inside is very cute but we were seated on the left side that I think was added on from the original building. If it was the fall or spring I would have loved sitting there but the windows are not well insulated so it was freezing. We started with the French Onion soup which was standard. I did the steak and fries for my main course. The steak was definitely more medium rare than medium but the flavor was pretty good. The fries were very very good. For dessert I did the chocolate mousse which was my favorite part of the whole meal. Overall everything was fine, it just wasn't outstanding.

If you're going for a cute place that serves great drinks then this is the place for you! They definitely serve strong drinks that are worth every penny, but drinks are probably their saving grace. The espresso martini, French 75, spicy raspberry margarita were tasty and strong and for the price point it wasn't so bad. But let's get into everything else - we got seated fairly quickly and the hostess were so kind and nice. Once we got seated and placed a drink order - it's almost like the server forgot about our table. It took over 30 minutes for her to come back just so we can place our entrees. The service was alright but the food was just not worth what we paid for. The steak had an "earthy" taste and the flavoring was not consistent. The lobster and scallops are $42 and you only get a tiny portion of lobster and 2 scallops. If you're willing to pay $42 for a plate then go to le fou frog - the portions match the quality and worth the price tag. Overall, dinner wasn't impressive but I think this place shines as a place to get drinks or maybe to get lunch. They have a coffee bar that looks cozy.

Aixois is a beautiful & charming restaurant.A wonderful spot for morning coffee with a pastry or warmed egg quiche, or order full breakfast from their menu. You will no spot more delightful for a cool summer morning - sitting outside with table & chairs on a shady walkway, or table & chairs inside. The wait staff is great. The coffee is great, and dressed up however you like it.No better way to start the day.

Neat atmosphere but we sat here on Valentine's Day at 3 pm for 20 minutes after being seated I'll give our waitress some slack said she only been there a couple of weeks, I got the duck confit and it was so tough I could get more the a couple of bites, my wife had the chicken and it was average, too many other French restaurants around probably won't be back
