Above & Beyond Catering

On May 4th I had an event that was supposed to be catered by Above and Beyond Catering. We had a signed contract for $2500 and rendered my payment months in advance. With less than two weeks before my event, Roxanne Strub contacted me and told me that she wasn't not going to honor our original contract and eventually bailed on my event completely. She never showed up.I have dealt with a lot of "hard nose" business people, but I have never encountered anyone with less integrity or general business professionalism. She and her associate Heather Faudel were both ruthless and rude about it. I was shocked at how I was treated. Roxanne knew she had the upper hand by attempting to change her terms at the last minute, then failing to cater my event, or return payment. Complaints have been filed, and a lawsuit is pending.I got stiffed. Buyer beware!

To me, Above & Beyond Catering has been like Charlie and his Angels. I have worked with them over the years...but I have never seen their face.Don't get me wrong, I'm sure they have no trouble showing their faces, it's just that I'm in St. Louis, and they are in Kansas City. And that right there is a great sign that they have their act together--I can count on them even though I have never met them, nor eaten their food (which my people have claimed was delicious).I use Above & Beyond to cater a small lunch meeting that our office conducts in KC every once in awhile. The lunches come on time, and at the proper temperature. The food elicits great feedback, and billing has never been a problem.Although I keep my usual orders simple, I do know from their site that they have a broad range of entrees available. Above & Beyond Catering is a solid resource for your catering needs, and you should have no problem finding what you need.

This is one catering company that knows the importance of being detail-oriented. From the smallest cocktail party to the most lavish of extravaganzas, they go out of their way to create a culinary experience for the guest. Just last night I went to an event at the space at Black on Burlington where A&BC whipped up 40 (yes, 40!!) different appetizers that were passed around throughout the evening. From Thai Scallop Bites to gourmet mini-Whoopie Pies for dessert, each of their nibbles were fun, inspired and tasty. How good were they? I actually took the time to find the hidden door to the kitchen so I could compliment the chef. The staff was polite, efficient and had a perma-smile on their face for four hours as they graciously doled out menu items. Props to them for making an already kick-ass party just that much more memorable!
