Abe & Jake's Landing

We went to a Fabulous event planned by KU's Hall Center for Humanities. It was centered around Halloween but with an educational flair. And a bar!! They featured food by Latch Key Deli which looked delicious but we opted for a drink and wandering around. This event is annual so you have to be ready in the fall. See attached photos of the fun stuff and we didn't even see it all.

Located downtown Lawrence along the riverfront. This is a great venue for weddings, private parties and special events. First time here for a wedding reception of a niece. The Marriott hotel is next door. Plenty of parking. Inside you walk in and there's a staircase overlooking the main floor, stage and dance floor. Plenty of space for the guests to roam around and mingle. Full bar in the back. Stage for your favorite band and plenty of room to dance on the dance floor. Access to river front view. The staffs was great. The only con to this place is that maybe it is not handicap accessible. I did not see an elevator.

A little hard to find at first but this is a great venue for events and a beautiful building

Its been years since I've been inside this space, and yet I still marvel at what a structure it is and what a magnificent bit of history with an epic view of the dam and river. And yet it only exists as an event space. That attempt to make it into a commercial space with walk-in traffic never materialized and you can kind of understand why. The lack of dedicated parking is one downside, but that shouldn't deter from the space itself.If you come it'll likely be a special event like a music festival (why I was here as a performer, not unlike my last appearance here the same over 10 years ago), a wine tasting or maybe some kind of big social event, prom, etc. Drink it in if you're lucky enough to make it here, and be sure to stop by the Abe & Jake statue and learn about the gentlemen fishermen the place is named after.

Was here for a wedding reception (and I've been here when it is a bar as well). Huge space with so many nooks and crannies. The food was served buffet style, it was mostly apps but that was probably the bride/groom's choice. It was good though. Staff was helpful and bartenders were friendly. The seats on the second level were hard to see, so no one sat there.

Really love the atmosphere at this venue. Go with a group of friends, the more the merrier in such a huge space.

Going here was good. I love how everything was placed and it was spacious than what's shown in the pictures. Good place for any types of events.

Best place for a wedding reception! Had our daughter's wedding reception here this weekend. It was a great venue. The staff and management did an incredible job. Our guests couldn't quit talking about it. Thanks Abe & Jake's!Daniel H.
