This is a pretty cool place. Drinks are good, pinball is great, and the place is a cozy little hole in the wall.

It does have pinball which is what I was there for. The area at night can be iffy late night but, don't let that stop you from checking it out, especially if you love pinball. You can even bring outside food in, bonus!!. The space is nice sized and the service is great. I'd definitely go back and check it out.

Update time...The 403 Club is the epitome of a cool neighborhood bar.Its known for its pinball machine collection (there are tournaments from time to time,) but there's also a pool table, dart board and a cool little patio that is at its best in the warmer months. The bar offers an amazing beer selection that includes everything from a $2 PBR or Busch Light to craft beer seasonals and special releases. There's higher proof cocktail options available if you want to go that route too.Cool locals. Laid back staff. This is a great place to grab a drink and relax.

My great grandfather George Martinac and Grandma Cookie(Anna Dumovich) were original owners at 403 5th st. I'm trying to locate pictures of my family because sadly everyone has about passed I'm it so I don't want our name vanish.Any help with stories of any kind pictures etc my first relatives were Ljuboslav Martinac along with Magdalena from Grisniki in the Lukovdol region

It's a chill vibe with drinks, pinball, darts, plenty of tvs, and music. Make sure to bring some cash for the coin machine.

Video games? No Thanks.Night Clubs? Nah.Pinball and neighborhood/dive bars? Hell Yeah!403 Club seems to be the pinball mecca of KC. Eleven new functioning machines all brightly lit with bumpers banging, brings out the teenager in me once again. A really cool vibe with diverse clientele, awesome beer selection, outdoor covered patio and friendly service. It's a fairly small space, but that just adds to the intimacy and meeting new people. I'm a new fan!

Total dive bar, but so fun! So we went on a Sunday at about 2pm, it was pretty much empty which is what we wanted because we had our kids with us. We asked if it was okay if they were there and the bartender said sure, as long as we're out when they get busy by about 6p, we didn't plan on staying very long. It was so chill in there, it's a stinky old man bar but a few tables in the main area and a huge patio outside with a tv and it's super comfortable to sit outside and just watch a ball game or something. If you're looking for a dive bar with pinball machines this is your spot

I love the 403! First of all, let's make one thing clear...403 is definitely ON the Hill. It is right down the street from the former View on the Hill which is now the Mockingbird. These are great venues for entertainment at reasonable prices and also very safe areas. In 25 years of coming down here (and living on the Hill), I've only had one incident (not at 403) and as much as I patronize these places, it was bound to happen. Compare that to Westport and Midtown where there have been many times I was in or witnessing a bad scene. 403 gives you that unique neighborhood bar feeling without some of the quirky unfriendliness some similar spots can project at you initially. It' not a case of them having to get used to seeing you. There are so many different kinds of people, different ages, LGBT friendly, they don't care. They're just there to have a good time and get some great drinks at great prices. I've enjoyed all the bartenders, Amanda, Brandy, Tara Fay. And Artie, the owner is a Knight. A true gentleman, generous and cares about his neighborhood. I love that about 403.The pinball machines are amazing if you're into that. Lots of TVs with different sports or movies. Incredible juke box, outdoor patio, darts, hot dogs!, chips!, lots of free parking off the street too. When the View closed, I was really sad. I've been hanging out at 403 now for the past year or so and it's a keeper!

403 Club does two things great.1. Pinball - there isn't a better spot in Kansas City. The operators bring in some of the newest games and keep everything in tournament-level quality at all times. Games rotate through at a pretty good clip with a mix of old and new. The pinball regulars there are friendly and love to share their knowledge.2. Cheap drinks - Their well and draft beer prices don't even make sense. They have a short, but high quality draft beer selection and the sometimes get some limited beers through there as well. You can also bring in your own food into the bar. If you're having a lot of fun playing pinball and drinking, just have something delivered to 403. Or, you can chance it on the hot dogs. If you're opting for the hot dog, call a cab. It's a good barometer for how many drinks you've consumed.403 isn't fancy, but it is perfect in it's own perfect way.

Update time.Worst bar I've been to IN MY LIFE. The owner has no regard for customer service. Hopefully you don't have the older bartender with short gray hair working...she'll kick you out for singing along to the juke box and charge you for drinks you didn't even get to drink. I'm surprised they're still in business.
