28 Event Space

Came out to help setup for a 50th celebration. 28 Event Space offered more than we could have hoped for. The event space staff was there to assist us with anything and everything we needed while setting up. The linens, tablecloths, chairs and tables were already in place as hoped for and everything was in top notch shape for any lavish event. And all was squeaky clean. I was pleased to find the ladies room tastefully decorated, inviting and sparkling clean. Highly recommend it for any event.

My sister got married here when they first opened and they were pretty accommodating. The DJ they suggested invited another Dj unexpectedly who ate a few peoples' portions of food, but other than that we had a pretty nice experience with them.

I came here for a Big Brothers Big Sisters event. I was impressed with the size of venue. And since it was a big place we could have a conversation without yelling over the top of one another. Not a huge fan of the location or the limited parking situation though. If they had a big private fenced parking lot I would be more apt to come back.

I attended a Big Brother Big Sister event for Halloween 2017. I can't believe this is a hidden gem in KC. It can hold hundreds of guests and has two bedrooms, kitchen and a longer area for an overnight event.The parking is hard to find. You'd think off street parking is the only place to park because there is another company adjacent to the building. However, if you drive past 27 Event Space and the the adjacent company, there's a huge parking lot that is available for those attending an event. There's one way in and one way out. I would highly recommend 28 Event Space. You'd have to go see it for yourself to see how nice it is on the inside.

Cool room... feels like it could be a blank canvas for setup and decor! We were guests for a wedding hosted here, so i can't speak to anything about the process or cost, but the wedding was lovely!

My husband and I hosted our wedding here December of 2017 and had an awesome experience! Carly was great to work with and provided wonderful service. We had just over 300 guests and the space was set up beautifully for it. Being able to bring in your own alcohol and use an outside catering company was a huge perk for us. We also rented the "bridal suite" and used it for all the girls to get ready day of, and my husband and I stayed there post-reception - which was super convenient! The space is absolutely beautiful, the string lights from the ceiling make for gorgeous photos, and the mural of KC is a super cool touch. Our out of town guests loved the place!

My husband and I got married at the station 6 months ago. I could not be happier with the price, accommodations, or the venue itself! We booked on a Friday meaning we had the venue from Thursday afternoon until Saturday morning. Also, we opted for the BYOB option to save some cash, which I greatly appreciated. My only gripe would be that a woman who works for the property, one whom I had never talked to prior to my wedding night, was extremely rude to myself and some of my guests. We were all tearing down the wedding and cleaning immediately after my reception when she came up to me and very angrily explained that I would need people to move their parked cars from the gated lot unless they planned on not leaving until 9am the next morning. I thanked her for letting me know and went to everyone still there and explained and people began moving to get their cars WHILE tear down was still happening. Immediately after, a groomsman who was staying at the venue asked me to talk to the woman again as she was withholding alcohol from my people. She was yelling at my (very polite) bridal party and refusing to give them the alcohol I had brought to bring it up to the suites. I told her they understood that they could only drink upstairs after the reception and she huffed and handed me my alcohol. Almost exactly 5 minutes later people rushed to me explaining that their cars were already locked in, and that same woman who informed me was nowhere to be found. Some of my people who had generously stayed to clean up had now been locked in overnight even if they had work the next morning! I texted my contact with the event space and asked if there was any kind of solution and they texted me "we told you to move the cars. Here's the code". I just felt very mishandled and wish that this person in particular had handled me and my party with more respect. Nobody was unruly and we were very aware of the rules and following them.

Amazing venue! I love that they have two unique spaces to choose from. The staff is also so kind and attentive! 10/10 recommend

My Son and Daughter In Law had their wedding and reception there 11/5, and I can't say enough great things about the staff and venue! If you are looking for a beautiful venue with amazing bride and groom suites, and amazing staff, 28 event space should definitely be at the top of your list!

We had our wedding at The Station in March '22 and it was perfect. Communication from the venue was clear every step of the way, and we loved the all-inclusive aspect. The bride and groom suites are awesome and fully separate from guests which was a big selling point. The Station was the perfect venue for us and we would recommend it to anyone looking for a venue near downtown KC!
