23rd Street Brewery

Drove to Lawrence from KC this evening to meet some family who drive from Topeka for dinner. I wasn't impressed. It was decorated really cute for Christmas. And our server was super nice. But the food was very overpriced and not very good. I got a burger ordered medium well and it was medium rare at best. It was pretty bland too. And $17! I can get a way better burger for half the price from so many other places. One relative liked their food and the other one only ate a few small bites because it wasn't good. 23rd street used to be good. And affordable. Now it is neither of those things. The two stars are for the server. If I was basing this just on the food, it would be none, unfortunately.

First and foremost is to complement and thank the young lady serving our table. She was great. The Hake Fish is my favorite so we make the 60 mile round trip 2 or 3 times a month. Never disappointed. The Christmas Light decorations are beautiful and parking is good.

We had a party of 18 for a graduation celebration and I made a reservation a few weeks ago. We were seated promptly. Our server (I didn't catch her name) was excellent and just attentive enough. It's very done up for the holidays! The food was just incredible. People want to look and the prices and walk away but let me tell you. The portions were GINORMOUS and worth every penny. The chicken Parmesan I ordered had a whopping 3 chicken cutlets. We had everything from Cajun pasta to Mac and cheese to Alfredo to fried chicken Cobb salad to a burger and a steak and taco salad. Several ordered the calzone and it was bigger than my daughter's head. Just do yourself a favor and check it out!

23rd Street goes all out for the holiday vibes, the inside feels like you're walking into a winter wonderland. The food and drinks are as good as always. We got the Bill Self, of course, and the chicken in the mac was 10/10. We also got the tortilla taco salad and really enjoyed the dressing on top and the shell bowl.

Very festive with the Christmas decorations. Food was good! Staff is very friendly. Good selection of beers. Reuben was very good!

Had an amazing time with a party of 10 for my sons 21st surprise birthday. Staff and management were amazing with their service and even allowed us to bring in our own ice cream Bday cake. We had food from salads to burgers to chicken marsala. All the food was delicious. Great cook to order burgers with yummy fries. We had cocktails, beer and even a free birthday shot for my son. Everything was great. Give it a try!

I've always loved going to this brewery in Lawrence! It isn't on the main roads in Lawrence so you don't have to fight very much traffic, and there is always a parking spot available. The food is all yummy! Some things are a little bit pricey but definitely comparable to other businesses. The turkey bacon calzone is now my go-to meal! It is a large portion of food and reheats very well in the air fryer for leftovers. The jalapeño aoli is a little spicy but adds the perfect kick of extra flavor to the meal. The raspberry wheat beer is not overly flavored, which allows you to enjoy the wheat with a hint of flavor. This is one of my overall favorite beers because the flavoring doesn't taste like syrup and isn't overpowering.

Had their Chicken Parm and a Bill Self Special to go. Had not eaten there in at least 5 years. Food was very good. Portion sizes were HUGE, which I was happy about because both dishes were over $22 each. Place looks the same and seems busy, so I was glad they are still doing well with all the competition in Lawrence.

Went on Christmas Eve with my familyService was OK but I ordered the salmon with the sweet potato fries. Salmon was almost overcooked, and the fries were definitely overcooked. They got hard before I was done.My family likes this place, but I do not will not go back

We have been here several times over the years, started out as a 5 star, went down to a 4 star, but from my last visit, back at the 5 star! The Stromboli is amazing, as well as the Cajun pasta, and the salmon and pasta. Service has been good to great. A little high in price, but the portion size is worth it. The festive holiday decorations are amazing! Good job! Also feel they refurbished and refreshed.
