Services great waitress very friendly. potatoes are frozen deep fried and cinnamon roll not homemade surprisingly, but still taste good. Biscuit is big and good. prices are slightly high for small town diner but at least it's local not a chain or anything. I like small diners etc that make something homemade that sets them apart tho like good greasy fried potatoes Decor is very nice, with oldies musicOn way out noticed homemade pies and desserts they looked good and pancakes came out 12" diameter looked good

Really burnt chicken strips and soggy fries can't get no better than that good? grief I don't know who Cooks but why would you send this out the door this way

Greeted quickly and served soon. Delicious food, served hot. Good coffee. Definitely a good place for breakfast....our second visit!

I have been seeing a picture of a breakfast sandwich that 169 Café has been posting lately. They call it the Hot Mess! And every time I see it, I start to drool. So, today I decided to stop drooling and have a taste!They take a biscuit, about the size of half a loaf of bread, slice it in half, they set the lower half on a plate and layer on some hashbrowns, a sausage patty, a slice of ham, two slices of bacon, a fried egg, and then they smother the whole works with gravy and set the lid on top! Holy Moly! I did not have a week to lick my fingers clean, so I took a knife and fork to it, and it was delicious!Well Done 169 Café!Well Done Indeed!Stuffing a Hot Mess in my mouth in Smithville on a Sunday afternoon and life is good!

This is one of the few breakfast places in the area. It was closer to lunchtime. I ordered the Philly cheese steak because I was hungry and wanted to be full. I told the waitress that I couldn't wait to try the pie after I ate. The Philly was by FAR the smallest, worst Philly cheese steak I've ever had. Just call it a small beef sandwich. That was 100% not a Philly in any stretch of the imagination. After the food was delivered, all of the servers disappeared for about 20 mins. Did everyone go on a smoke break at the same time? I'm not sure what happened. I planned on getting a piece of pie since they looked great at the front counter but the waitress returned from her hiatus with the check and walked away. I guess we weren't allowed to buy any pie. I walked out hungry. Why did I give it 2 stars instead of 1? The pies looked so good that I gave them an extra star (maybe because I'm full as I write this review). Would I go back? Ummm, no!

We thought we would give this "new" restaurant a try.Turns out the SAME owners changed the name and stayed the SAME. That is never a good sign . We had last been there around 5 years ago and we're disappointed by our homestyle meals. The little restaurant was packed on this Sunday afternoon, but we were seated quickly. We decided on breakfast- Who can mess up breakfast right?? Turns out this place can. I ordered the farmers platter, half order of biscuits and gravy. Another breakfast was ordered at the table, along with a tenderloin sandwich. Waters all around with 2 coffees. What was the bill? $50 after tip. Eggs: cold Hash browns: cold, barely browned, NO flavor. Toast: one side only was toasted. Gravy: watery- McDonald's has more flavor.Sausages: tough, had to use a knife. The weirdest flavor I've ever tasted. Tenderloin: ok. Side salad: ok*I'm usually not this harsh, but seriously- Who messes up a basic breakfast?! I will NEVER go back.

In for breakfast before Mass this morning. Very nice ... greeted at door. Looking forward to taking my grandson one of their cinnamon rolls. They look delish. Coffee very fresh & perfect for a chilly winders day. Loaded omelette is large enough to share! This place was recommend by some those guests at our B&B. They were spot on. Prices very reasonable for the quality, service & portion size. Forgot to mention- bacon perfect & just right!

Walked in and saw that it was self-seating. Decided to eat at the counter so that there wasn't a chance I would be overlooked. Definitely seems to be a family owned dinner and the lady at the front was friendly and I over heard that staff ask other co-workers if I was taken care of. So staff definitely makes sure that they are on top of things. Ordered the breakfast sandwich and French toast. The food was delicious and I hardly say that about a lot of food. The ends of the bread was not burnt or crispy, the sausage was on point, and the French toast was nice and fluffy. Definitely better than some chain restaurants or other local diners. Even though I don't think I'll be in the area anytime soon again - if they consistently cook breakfast this way all the time; I might go out of way just to eat breakfast here again.

Great for breakfast, should try if you haven't already. Service is terrific, coffee always hot, great menu.

169 cafe is a fun go to spot to meet friends for breakfast! Right on 169 they have home cooked favorites including scrumptious pies! An omelette and delicious breakfast pitatos can get your day off to a great start!
