This was my first time coming to this store in nearly a decade. This store was a staple for my family for back-to-school shopping. Known for some designer stitches, here is our experience after visiting this past Saturday afternoon:Location: 8/10 1/2 of 1/2 is located off 35 highway and 87th street. It has been at this location for as long as I can remember. Customer Service: 5/10 If you are expecting a pleasant interaction as you checkout, please lower the bar. The employees were pained to talk to customers and barely acknowledged our existence. Good thing we only got a few items and did not have to stand in line for long, because it was painfully awkward. There was plenty of diversity among the staff, which was nice to see.Selection: 5/10 Keep in mind that you get what you get here. Some of the clothing items will be damaged or worn, and yes, you do need to take your time and comb through the rack. This is especially true if you are looking for something specific. The prices of the clothing aren't bad and there are plenty of signs that tell you what the discounted price will be after retail. You can find decent stuff for great prices, but that takes a little effort. If that is not your thing, this store may not be for you. The Day Matters: The selection was pretty picked over. I used to come during the week on Wednesday and the selection was so much better. It may be better to visit during the week versus a Saturday.Overall: 4.5/10 I am all for bargain shopping but my visit was pretty underwhelming. The fact we went mid-afternoon on a Saturday factored in to the selection of clothing. The customer service was also a bust for me. It does not take much effort to smile and ask if someone if they found items alright. I don't discourage anyone from getting nice clothes for bargain prices, but I personally would not be back.

All the reviews that are outraged when they find any damages or flaws in the clothing must not understand how this works. A lot of these clothes are so lowly priced because of some minor (very seldom major) flaw or due to an overstocking issue. But the more Karens that shy away from this store, the more awesome deals for me and the rest of the non-Karens! This place is literally the best!

When Lydia A. began her review by stating that this place is "terrifying" I thought it was a gross exaggeration. But after shopping here, I know exactly what she meant.I walked in and was overwhelmed by the (1) Size of the place -- It's a huge warehouse full of STUFF...and (2) Amount of racks filling every nook and cranny of this warehouse. I began with the smaller, round racks towards the front of the store. My impression is that this is a surplus store. Things are new, and brand name, but likely overstock from department stores. Everything is organized by size, and type of item (short sleeve shirts, long sleeve shirts, jeans, etc.), and not much else. So every rack has a wide range of styles and brands. I got through a handful of round racks and about 2 of the long racks until I had a armful of items I needed to try on.After I decided to keep some items, I proceeded to the section in the far right corner. The items are color coded to indicate the price/discount amount, I believe it was white and pink. I realized that most of these items were (1) deeply discounted and (2) damaged. I saw some things I liked that did not appear to be damaged, so I took them into the dressing room. Unfortunately, I immediately noticed the damage after trying EVERY item on, so I put them back. Most of the items could be fixed by a person who sews, rather than stains, etc. After looking at sportswear and shoes, I decided I was too burnt to explore the rest of the store. I only got through HALF of the entire store.I approached the register with one woman in front of me. At the end of her transaction, she had 2 heaping bags full of clothing, and her total was around $14! I got 5 items (3 shirts and 2 pairs of jeans) for $50. I thought this was a good deal until I saw the lady in front of me, and until the cashier said, "Wow, you didn't really get any deals today!" LOL.I will definitely come back here, but as my only outing for the day. This visit I came straight from the mall and was not ready for such an overwhelming store.

Crazy deals!Ralf Lauren, Cole Haan, BCBG, Anne Taylor, DKNY, Hugo Boss., Jessica McClintock, Michael Kors, Victoria's Secret.....etc..Brand Clothing up to 75-80% off.Basically this store buys in bulk of items from big department stores from all over the United States, such as Nordstrom's, Macy's..etc. They carry shoes, sheets, bedding, purses, men's, women's and children's items. It's always like a treasure hunt when I got. You need at least an hour if you want to find anything in there. They are seasonal, for example one summer I discovered buckets and buckets of Victoria Secret bathing suits. Each $3.00 - $6.00 apiece. My best buy this year, a pair of Leather Cole Haan Boots ($75.00), the retail price was about $350.00. It is a big warehouse with racks and racks of clothing, jewelry, housewares, shoes, and accessories. A lot of the items are damaged, some are easily fixed with some thread and needle. They are open 6 days a week, they close Tuesday to restock. If you sign up as a member (free) you get coupons to get a steeper discount. Rule of thumb to have a successful trip:1. Plenty of time2. Patience to sift through3. Willingness to by cool stuff with minor repairs4. Bring a Friend.PS I also got a pair of BCBG pumps for $15.00!!!!I can't wait for you to check it out!!

So let me say this store overwhelmed me. It is gigantic with rows and rows of clothes. It is organized by size and type, but expect to spend some time digging for the treasures in the rough. I immediately found the high-end department store section and was pleasantly surprised. I'm a huge fan of Wildfox, and I found a lot of Wildfox sweatshirts and clothes in my size. It was an extra 40% off the ticket, too. I left with a bag of items clothes for what I would've paid for one Wildfox sweatshirt at a high-end department store. I wish I had a snack before I went, because I actually became exhausted looking through the racks and had to leave. Otherwise, I could've spent hours in the store. I was visiting from out of town and wish I had a 1/2 of 1/2 near me because I could see myself a regular shopper here. If you're ever in the area, and want some great brand new clothes, and do not mind digging through mracks of goods, this is the place for you. If I'm ever in Overland Park again, I will definitely stop by the store.

I really dig NBC. My wife turned me on to this place when it was across the street years and years ago. In those days, this was the only way I could afford to shop for new clothes whenever I wanted. Now I have been incredibly spoiled by the deals I have gotten here so I still come back. I'm not cheap by any means, but I really have a hard time paying full retail for anything. Daddy likes a good deal! I work from home now so I haven't done much shopping here in the last year or so. For mens clothes I tend to gravitate more towards their casual offerings, like polo shirts and khaki pants. They have a wide selection of jeans. More brands and fits than you can imagine. But like other reviewers have said- everything here takes time. My mom hates it here and says its like a giant thrift store but worse. This place is truly intimidating and scary. But don't listen to my mom. She doesn't like anything! Here is my strategy...Everything is loosely organized by size. (emphasis on the word loosely) So I am as thorough in my search as time allows. Typically I start two sizes before my targeted size and shove everything down as far to the right as I can. Then one by one I slide the shirts, shorts, sweaters, or pants down. I do it quickly and efficiently. I check the label at the collar for size and brand. If the item is in the size I'm looking for, then I consider the brand. The brand will dictate how much I am willing to pay and what I am willing to put up with or repair. If the size is right and I like the garment I give it a real good look over. Are all of the buttons in the right places? What about holes and stains? Do the zippers work? I check all of the seams and turn the pockets inside out. I throw anything I think I may want into my cart, and make cuts later. I can usually get through a few racks pretty fast! My technique works! Here's why I go through all of that... On today's trip I had found several Ralph Lauren Polo shirts (long and short sleeve) into my cart. No stains, no tears, not stretched, and all of the buttons where intact. Most of them were marked $20. Then I made my way over to the slacks. There I found the flawless slacks to a Calvin Klein suit with the tags still on them, marked for sale at Macy's at $650 for $30. On that same rack I also found Burberry slacks for $19. I found a tear in the seat of the pants, so they stayed on the rack. But man, for a few seconds I thought I was going to be the proud owner of discounted Burberry pants!I decided I have enough polos in Bobby's Closet of Fashion, so I put them all back and decided on a new button up shirt for $15. It is from the Macy's INC line so no huge bargain here, but all in all, a nice shirt. And since I don't have any special event that requires new slacks, those Calvin Kliens got put back too. There are excellent bargains to be had here. With a little time and perseverance you can score some too!

Great place to shop if you don't mind searching for the steals. Not my cup of tea for myself but will come for my kids. :)
