Kami Teriyaki

Used to be a reliably good teriyaki spot. New management doesn't seem to care too much about quality, cleanliness, etc. The food poisoning is *chef's kiss.* I went in about a month ago after having recently returned to the area, and the guy behind the counter (on the phone) just glared at me as I entered so I left and decided not to return. Last night, though, I was tired and teriyaki sounded good, so I went ahead and got some. Been regretting it all morning. This restaurant seems to be run by someone who hates both customers AND cooking food.

I've been there a couple of times already and loved the food and service every time.This time I got the lunch special combo chicken teriyaki and general tso's which was tasty and a good amount of food for under $10.The restaurant is clean and they pay attention to deal, for example the lady at the register always wipes the credit card used with a clean wipe before she hands it back to me which is nice to see these days.

Love this place!! This Teriyaki restaurant is a super local spot that I've grown up going to. It consistently has huge portions of food for a great price, and they have complimentary miso soup and hot tea! The place is local and family owned, with a very friendly staff. As a vegan, I enjoy the tofu teriyaki, and tofu or veggie yakisoba and stir fry. On my family's most recent visit, the owner gave us some free instant miso soup packets to take home for later, and chatted with us. The place does take out and dine in well, it has a casual ambiance and is a personal favorite.

This restaurant was an okay one, unlike the other location in Totem Lake by 124th. However, they really ought to improve some cleanliness at the back kitchen as molding grew. Bathroom also needs some attention. Chicken teriyaki was fairly good, with a salad as secondary dish for$13.99plus tax. Hopefully they still keep it at a decent price after the inflation hit the food industry.

Very good food. The owner is always so kind to both our children and puppy. Each time we go, he makes some chicken just for our dog and has candy ready to give the kids! They have sushi, curry in addition to awesome teriyaki with good sized portions. Love having a great restaurant with friendly owners here on the hill.

Our kids love teriyaki and Kami was close to where we were celebrating a birthday. When the friendly man behind the counter heard it was a birthday, he wrote "happy birthday" on all our boxes and put in extra sauce. It wasn't a really big deal, but it made the kids really happy, and that makes it a big deal. Sometimes the little things have a big impact and I'm thankful for business that make an effort. We had an order of teriyaki chicken and two of chicken katsu. Both were good. The teriyaki had a good blend of sweet/sour and was tender. The katsu was breaded and fried well, where the coating didn't fall apart in the container. The rice was fluffy. The included salads were roughly cut, where one of the containers seemed almost like a full 1/8th head of lettuce, but my big mouth still manages to enjoy it.

This place rocks!Kami Teriyaki has been our neighborhood go-to "Teriyaki Joint " for over 20 years. Always consistent and great food and service. A few years ago the ownership changed and this younger and quite a bit taller owner (?) has picked up the ball and ran with it successfully. When my kids are home from school for the holidays or summer, we typically head to Kami for a satisfying meal. Chicken Teriyaki or Katsu Chicken are our go-to faves. I tried the spicy Bulgogi this time and it wasn't bad. The tall owner is very nice and friendly and usually chats with us or offers us free water or soda sometimes. Very nice guy.We will keep on coming back here. Thanks Kami Teriyaki!

Near my house so tried it in a hurry for lunch.Not bad Not great Their price has gone up more than reasonable lately and the portion size isn't warranted.His idea of salad is a big wedge of iceberg not cut up at all. Hard to eat and just not tasty. There is MuCh better teriyaki around!

Tried again..the owner/owners adult son? Just doesn't care. Sometimes you go in and all ordered items have been pre-cooked and re-warmed. Other times you order and it takes forever. No consistency except for bad teriyaki. I try when I'm really hungry and want something quick and easy. However, this is the last time I"ll give Kami another try. Just not good and ownership could care less.
