4.5 StarsThe vegan sushi is incredible. So is the non vegan sushi. I got the salmon bomb special ($11) and the Vegan Jalaspicy Roll ($15.95). Both were so yummy. That tofu filling is legit. Casual interior, located on a strip mall. Polite staff.

A new family favorite. When Momoya on 85th closed down we thought we'd never find a new family Japanese restaurant with that much bento value. Enter Kamakura! My kids can literally eat entire blocks of tofu by themselves and so the vegan menu is everything to them - the tofu curry bento is gigantic. I love the tuna bento myself. Everyone's happy and full when we leave here. Great takeout option,

If you are a vegetarian or a vegan, having sushi would never be on your plate of things to eat.I am a vegetarian with kids who love sushi. At any average sushi restaurant, a vegetarian option is typically Kappa Maki or Inari or the avocado roll. It quickly got boring. So I learnt to make sushi for my kids. Then Japonessa came to Bellevue which gave us a few more vegetarian options.Kamikura changes the sushi landscape! I don't know if it was the small cafe style setting or the impressive multi-page vegan sushi options or the warm and friendly service, but something here works. Beautifully. We had three types of rolls. Scallion tempura, Avocuddle, and Death By Crunch. Loved them all. The proportions of rice to veggies and the sauces all came together beautifully. Mmm!!! Umami like flavors, the crispy tempura, fresh crunchy veggies-- my soul did a happy dance as I indulged in this gastronomic fest.I hope this place expands to more places in our city and makes sushi eating a trend for vegetarians or just about anyone who likes/appreciates vegetarian food.

I've driven by tons of times over the years but only just discovered this place upon Google Maps searching for a Japanese cuisine craving. My takeout experience of a salmon bento was excellent. It was ready less than 10 minutes after placing the online order and the staff were very kind. The box was full of delicious food and thoughtfully prepared. They separated the wasabi and ginger! My only feedback to improve is to update the public menu display on storefronts. Right now the dish descriptions are blank or something very generic "Generated by Doordash". While I was pleasantly surprised by the contents of my bento, I believe will help customers know exactly what is in the dish they're ordering.E.g. this bento has takoyaki, gyoza, vegetable tempura, raw salmon sushi, salmon sashimi with roe, and salad with peanut-like dressing.

Probably my new go to spot for good value sushi in the neighborhood after my old spot shut down we ordered this place for takeout and the bento boxes are honestly a great deal. A lot of food for just $20. Will definitely come back. They also gave us a free roll after they made the wrong one by accident.

Very delighted to find this mom and pop neighborhood sushi place. Love the extensive vegan menu. Great service and good food! Below are what we have ordered- yes quite a bit of food. We were hungry. Overall we look forward to coming back! Takoyaki- very tasty. Met my expectations of good takoyaki. Chicken karaage- small bites and crunchy. A little fry but that's what you get without batter and wanting the crunch. Have good seasoning. Agedashi tofu- we ordered it again. Very tasty. Crunchy and good sauce and tofu. Avocado maki- a lot smaller than we expected. It has 6 small bites. It was good. Salmon roll- standard and tasty. Pork belly boa- love that it comes with a side salad but the pork belly is a little dry. Miso soup- for $2 is super reasonable. Have some seaweeds and small tofu bits. It was satisfying. Ultimate bento box- a lot of food. The veggies tempura was very nice, onion, green bean, sweet potatoes and zucchini. I didn't try the sashimi but it looks fresh. The fire scallop Maki was great.

First time coming here and the sweet hostess was super kind and knowledgeable about the menu. She was kind enough to help me decide on what I want to eat. She explained thoroughly what was on the menu and to understand better what I was craving for.The restaurant itself is on the small side and I only had to wait for 25 mins for my table. After I received my delicious sushi roll I was very satisfied. I ordered the Kamakura roll and it was packed with flavor. I enjoy the fact that I was able to taste everything. One thing I noticed was the temperature of the sushi which for me seemed a bit too warm for being a sushi. Regardless, I really enjoyed my dinner and I thank my server for helping me to decide what was the best sushi to get...and she got it right on! Enjoy!

Our new favorite casual sushi spot!Food: Sushi stands out. For the price you pay, it's great quality fish in generous portions. I normally get the Chirashi for about $30 which can definitely fill you up. The first thing I noticed was how fresh, plump, and bright their fish cuts were on the chirashi. They give you mix of different fish, and one time I could've sworn I had toro on my chirashi (or maybe the quality of tuna was that great). My wife usually gets the ultimate bento sushi meal which also comes with scallop maki rolls (spicy), a mix of nigiri, tempura, rice, and salad. It'll really fill you up and leave you very satisfied. The rolls here are great as well. We really like the Kirkland roll because it's full of fresh fish - a sushi lover's dream.Service: Spectacular. This is a great family run business. Everyone is so welcoming, kind, and have their own personality to serving. We like all the wait staff and we always leave feeling like we had a nice relaxing happy evening out. Water always remains full. They are so kind.Ambiance: Small restaurant, more of a casual feel. It won't feel like you're out on a nice date, but it's casual. Good for family, good for relaxing, good for friends. There's a couple of 4-seater tables, and 2 seater tables. They can probably do a group of 8 but it'll take up a good size of the restaurant. I hope they expand sometime as they've really got potential.Parking: Very easy as it's in a commercial complex with plenty of parking spots.Reservations: No reservation system. During weekend evenings it can get busy and there could be a wait, but it's always worth a try. We've been lucky with being able to snag a seat 3 out of the 4 times we've been with little to no wait. This place is getting popular.Bathroom is cleaning meaning the kitchen is clean.Overall - major kudos to this place. I've needed something like this in Kirkland and I'm so glad to have found Kamakura.

It's a very small, intimate space with just four 4-tops and two 2-tops. All the tables seem to surround the sushi maker rather than just a sushi bar. They have a very extensive sushi/sashimi menu and a limited number of entrees and bento boxes. The fish on the nigiris and sashimi are huge slabs of quality seafood. It's a nice neighborhood spot with good service, quality, value, and easy parking.
