We've finally found our go to Greek place in Lincoln park. There's plenty of street parking outside. The footprint is a decent size and they also have some outside tables. The decor is really nicely done and the open window concept makes it lively and you get a little hustle and bustle of Lincoln park. The staff are really sweet and helpful everytime we've come There are plenty of vegetarian options. The Greek salad is fresh and perfect for these summer days. The Greek fries with the fire sauce on the side are delicious. The spanakopita was perfectly flaky and the feta spinach filling was warm and melty. We've also tried the zucchini wrap which is a really good size and super tasty. The staff are really friendly and prices are well worth it. I highly recommend

Absolutely loved this restaurant! Its design is very nice, all the furniture is in perfect condition, and the place was impeccably clean on the day I had lunch there. By the way, I decided to eat at the restaurant because a day earlier I was passing by and saw some people's plates - the food looked and smelled amazing! The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor areas. The outdoor area is very small but very prettily decorated. The restaurant has a pretty big menu with a nice selection of food, mostly Greek, of course. I decided to order the Chicken Skewer Plate, which cost a very reasonable $16. I declined the side of green salad included with the meal and for an extra $1, switched it for French fries. I also added a side of Greek salad for $5.50 and slightly modified its ingredients (I do not eat lettuce and olives). The result of my order was exceptional! Everything was super delicious! But I must say, the Greek salad was my favorite because the vegetables were very fresh, and the feta cheese was very tasty! For a drink, I ordered iced tea, which was the only option - unsweetened, but the waiter brought me sugar on the side as I requested. By the way, my only wish for this restaurant would be to get agave syrup, which would be perfect for the unsweetened iced tea.All the staff at the restaurant were extremely sweet and friendly. My waiter was super cute, as was the cashier who took my order. My food was ready pretty fast. I got the Greek salad after 6 minutes of waiting, and the Chicken Skewer Plate after about 13 minutes. My final bill for everything was $28 (with tax), and I find this amount reasonable for the high quality of the food and service I received. This restaurant has definitely become one of my favorite restaurants in Chicago. I absolutely recommend it for a visit!

I celebrated my 40th Birthday in Greece last year, and since then I've been hooked on Greek food. KALA Modern Greek has been on my list of places to try for a while. My girl and I recently got a chance to visit, and we weren't disappointed.I enjoyed the Greek Salad and Spanakopita. Although you can't tell by the picture, the salad was big enough for both of us to enjoy. I also loved the portion size of the spanakopita. I was happy to have leftovers to take home. My friend enjoyed the Chicken Bowl and the Greek Fries. The garlic sauce on the fries was SO good. Again, the portions were nice, so we both had food to take home. The place is set up almost cafeteria/diner style: you order your food and grab your water from the counter. It seems to make things very efficient. The staff was also very friendly and welcoming. When we told them it was our first time dining there, they made sure to check on us throughout the entire meal. #ImNotAFoodie#ImJustAGirlWhoLovesFood#YelpEliteSquad

Stumbled upon this place after an afternoon at the zoo, and this was the perfect meal! I was thrilled to see Plant-Based Gyros on the menu, so we ordered that along with a Zucchini Fritter Bowl. We got the Fro-Go and Loukoumades for dessert. The concept is unique in that you order and pay from your phone at your table. The prices were reasonable, the place is cute, and the food was delicious. I can't wait to go back!

The best way to describe this place is like a slightly higher end version of a CAVA! It had a very cute ambiance to it and the food equally felt like it could be taken to go or eaten there in a slightly elevated way. I got a gyro bowl which you have to request for but was honestly better than I had anticipated! My friend got a chicken bowl with half rice half salad and said it was a good combo together. The only thing to note was the rice was a little crunchy and felt a little not ready yet but other than that if I want something nicer than fast food but don't want a big wait time, this would be a good place!

I would give this place a 3.5/5 based on my order. The portion is big and the price affordable. However, I didn't enjoy it as much as I have expected. Skewer plate (shrimp and chicken): some parts of the shrimp, chicken, and veggies were burnt and overcooked. Lots of seasonings which made the food very heavy. The veggies didn't make the dish refreshing since it is burnt and oily. Mushroom sandwich: this wrap was probably the best out of the whole order. Large portion, but it was kind of heavy because of the strong seasoning. I don't think it's worth to add an extra protein here, I was charged extra $4 for 4-5 pieces of small pieces of shrimp. Also, it is kind of greasy. Not the best of mushroom wrap I had in a Mediterranean place. Beets Salad: I truly did not enjoy this salad! I love beets, but this salad was super cold (feel like it was stored in the fridge). The beets were super soggy. The lemon zest and juice didn't save this salad for me. Overall, the flavor of the food was really strong and salty. Also, very greasy.

I don't like the idea of eating there, but we got delivery and this place is amazing. Best Greek food around, worth the prize. Delicious salad, pita is fresh, and it's fast.

The food was delicious here - also healthful and refreshing. Staff went out of their way to be helpful, and I truly appreciated that.We had spent the morning at the Zoo, and at 92°, that part wasn't really a good choice.I felt desperate to get a salad for lunch, so after checking YELP reviews I chose KALA.We were a little dismayed at first since the music is loud and the music is bad. "Modern Muzak" said my husband. And there were only high-top tables available. We honestly had heat exhaustion and couldn't deal, and staff found a way to accommodate us.The food - it was exactly what I needed. There is a good variety of protein choices, and you can have them made into a sandwich, a bowl, or a salad.I got the zucchini fritter salad. Everything was great, all the flavors worked well together. I really appreciated that the Romaine lettuce was shredded. I am not a fan of big pieces of "the white parts" of lettuce, but having it shredded like this was perfect for me. Also, the lettuce was fresh and crisp, with no pieces that were iffy.Husband got the shrimp sandwich, he loved it. Daughter got the pork skewer bowl - the only hiccup to our meal was that the pork was overly charred (it's grilled so some char is normal, but this was unpleasantly blackened). Our server was attentive and brought a new, perfect, large one. She had offered to bring a whole new bowl but that wasn't necessary. She also gave us extra tzatziki. She was so nice and helpful. The thing about restaurants - there are a lot of things that can potentially not be perfect. It's busy, it happens. And sometimes it's a hassle to get it fixed, and honestly a lot of the time we don't even ask. Here, they got it fixed and were super nice about it. To me, that's WAY more important than having a perfect meal to begin with. I was really happy with everything here. I'm not vegan but I always appreciate a restaurant that has quality meat-free alternatives, and there were plenty of options.I am only in Chicago for a couple of days. If I lived here, I would definitely be a regular at this place.

I've walked by this place a million times but boy do I regret not eating here sooner!! The service was fast, food was great, and it was really affordable! The Feta Me Meli was DIVINE. I mean, who doesn't like baked feta in flaky phyllo?! The crispy outside and creamy inside was so lovely with a drizzle of honey. The Fakes lentil soup had a very rich flavor with garlic, ginger and lots of spices. The Greek Fries were also insanely tasty with the lemon and feta. We also ordered the Plant-Based Keftedes Bowl and I couldn't believe it wasn't meat! Also, don't snooze on the saffron rice in the bowl bc it is just perfectly salty and fragrant. I couldn't stop eating it! Definitely will be back for more!
