Came here before and after the pandemic. The tofu soup selection was so good and average priced for Boston area.It does get a bit cramped while dining due to the small building space but it was still a good experience to eat.

Worst food and dining experience in a LONG time. And I am usually not very harsh with my reviews, but just SO many things went wrong here:- They do not serve water. You have to buy bottled water at $2.5 each. They do not have alcohol either.- My tofu soup came in a metal bowl (one probably intended for naengmyeon - a cold noodles Korean dish...) and it was not boiling. The tofu was not broken down at all, it still had the shape of the plastic tube packaging. The color of the soup was not the typical red-orange that tofu soups should have, but rather a light brown that you would expect maybe from a soybean paste soup. There was too much soup and not enough content either. I asked for medium spicy but was sweating since the first spoon, and I am usually pretty heat-tolerant. I asked for the mushroom soup and there were only the equivalent of maybe 3 button mushrooms (the cheapest kind).- They told us after we ordered that they did not have seafood pancake, so we switched our order to a kimchi pancake, but they charged us for a seafood pancake (which was more expensive) anyway.- They were severely understaffed. There was only one waiter and he had to answer the phone too, so he had to walk away in the middle of someone ordering to pick up the phone (with no apology). He seemed very inexperienced.- The bulgogi was WAY too sweet. It's like they accidentally put 3x the amount of sugar.- All the dishes came in to-do containers even though we dined in.- There were only two side dishes: kimchi and picked radish. So sad for a Korean restaurant.- 18% automatic tip for party of 5+.For some reason I think there are reviews on this page that were meant for the Allston location instead of the Kenmore one. And my pictures and experience definitely look very different from those of previous customers. I hope that mine was a just from a day where their usual chef and waiters called in sick or something, but if it is a permanent change of policy/owner, please AVOID this location AT ALL COST.

The name on the store front isn't Kaju Tofu House, but perhaps there was just a name change. For the quality of Korean takeout I've had, this one wasn't terrible. There was a variety of veggies included, and generous portions. However, most of the veggies were still very much lacking in flavor. The mushroom was definitely the best, as it was the only thing seasoned (sweet and salty). Everything else was bland, blanched veggies. The bibim sauce can only do so much. This one is also spicier than typical bibimbap sauces, which often lean more sweet. You could even see some chili seeds in the sauce. For $15 including tax, it's not terrible. I will say the Bibim Box food truck that comes to BU on Tuesdays or Wednesdays is better in terms of taste, but smaller portion (and $1 more). I'd come back to try their other vegan options, as they do have things labeled vegetarian on the menu. Server was nice and food was ready very quickly. Restaurant was pretty empty on a Wednesday night.

Neat diner with decent Korean flavors and a portion slightly smaller than average.Walked in on a Friday evening around 6 and wre were the only table. The food came out fast and was heart warming for a chilly November day. The side dishes were delicious, would recommend shu mai!The atmosphere was quiet and great for small table conversations, and nothing really to complain about in terms of services.

We were debating coming to this place or the neighboring restaurant and decided to check out the menu. They immediately seated us as we walked in. We soon realized that they closed in 2 minutes but they were very welcoming and insisted that it was completely fine if we stayed and ordered. We ordered the Shrimp Shumai and the white Jjam bomg . Both were delicious and the J broth was extremely rich. The portion size of the J was large enough to feed two people. Overall, the value was great, the food was tasty, and the service was extremely friendly, as someone stayed and asked how our food was until we finished eating, even though the restaurant had closed 30 minutes ago.

Came here before the pandemic. We were in town to have lunch with some friends. It's a no frills place for some Korean hot pot dishes. Overall it was clean, and service was prompt, not impatient. Food was a disappointment. Not even up to par with the food court you find in H-Mart (Korean supermarkets). The seafood pot I got was a disappointment as the shrimps were tiny small (where do you find such small, malnutrition'd shrimps!?) and even worse: shell on. Can't even peel since the shrimps were so small and so hot in the soup. I gave up and didn't eat the shrimps at all. The beef kalbi (short ribs) were better

I love their Seafood Tofu Soup. There's so much flavor in their soup. Kaju is always my favorite in Boston! I love ordering their combo with galbi. You can't go wrong with their meat options. I usually go to their allston one but this one is bigger and was closer to the station. (Kenmore green Line) Their sides changes once in a while. They don't charge for the sides. Don't be greedy but they do refill. This time I also tried the Hot Stone Bulgogi Noodle Soup, which was on the sweeter side, not bad but was expecting udon, but came with the glass clear noodles. Prob would stick with the Tofu Soup next time instead.

This place is a decent place to go to in Allston- it is a bit of different experience going here in COVID due to not having a lot of sides (and also no more refills). Sad they didn't offer Japchae as a side. The Seafood soup is pretty good, but nothing too amazing. They also ran out of purple rice & only had white rice. I also tried the Beef Bulgolgi and it was fairly good, not as much flavor as I would have liked but tasted hot & fresh. The Kimchi Pancake here is also pretty good. Would come again if I had cravings.Food: 3.5/5

This spot is right on BU campus so super convenient! They have delicious tofu soups with a variety of other dishes. My favorite would have to be their pork tofu soup with pork belly combo. The pork belly is juicy and crispy at the same time and the portion is a decent size. The tofu soup is delicious and a must have during Boston's cold winters. Another favorite would have to be the hotstone bulgogi noodle soup - super rich with flavor and a comfort food to me. Their service is always great and everyone is very nice. This is a great place if you're looking for yummy korean food!
