KGF is a new-ish restaurant on the Totem Place strip mall where Lucky 7 and Santa Fe are located. While parking is "plentiful", the spots nearest the restaurants during the dinner hours can be very full. I suspect we didn't order their best dishes. We have a strong preference for what the staff person called "wet" dishes, i.e. curry. He was recommending their "dry" dishes, i.e. biryani. Both our curries were a bit off. The tandoori chicken took forever to be brought out. There are only two tables occupied at the restaurant and maybe two takeout orders. A couple picking up takeout sat down for an additional 10+ minutes before their orders are ready. They are s.l.o.w. Don't go too hungry. The restaurant is a skinny fit with no decor. There are 5 or 6 tables against one wall that are 2-seaters, maybe 3 tables against the other wall that are 4-seaters, and one table that is a 6-seater. If you are coming with four or more, call ahead or it'll be an even longer wait. Service wise, the staff was ok; he provided what we asked; we asked for the water to be refilled, too. The Food:Tandoori Chicken, $14.99 - 3 StarsI consider this to be a baseline dish. Every Indian restaurant must offer at least a 4-stars version of it for us to return. Their price is a wee lower than other places, but the chicken shrank proportionally, too. The biggest ding is way too much char. The top sides look ok enough. The bottom sides of the thigh pieces and parts of one drumstick are quite blackened/burnt. I was disappointed. I am at the stage of my life that I don't want to eat carcinogens anymore. Flavor wise, it was well seasoned, Chicken Tikka Masala, $16.99 - 3 StarsThis was delivered smoking, piping hot, which I love. Good start! Flavor of the sauce was excellent for dipping the naan. I even ran out of sauce for the rice, cuz the sauce is so good. And then I tried a piece of chicken. Every piece is gigantic and very-very-dry. Serious sad face. 4 stars for the sauce, 2 stars for the chicken pieces. Lamb Curry, $17.99 - 2 StarsThe description is sparse, saying it is a boneless lamb cooked with herbs and fragrant curry sauce. We have never eaten lamb curry that we didn't like before, but now we have! Somehow the texture of the curry is gritty, as though it is made out of beans. It left a weird texture on my tongue. Both the spiciness and the flavor were "ok". The texture bothered me the most. I have a propensity to try every variation of curry that an Indian restaurant offers. Now I have found my nemesis. Butter Naan, $2.49 - 4 StarsThey serve a crispier naan. The bottom has an excellent crisp. The edges are slightly blackened. The top has just enough pillowy to have a bit of chew. I like this version better. My hubby likes them softer, more pillowy. So, up to personal taste. The cost is very good for a butter naan. They served a modest portion of rice even though we had two curries. They weren't particularly seasoned or special, so I didn't ask for any refills.

It's a small, tidy spot with about 10 tables. Service was a bit slow (on a Friday night at 8 pm) - only one person handling orders. Luckily, we got seated right away, but some had to wait for 10 mins. Props to the order-taker who warned us about the wait. We ordered butter naan, shahi paneer, egg kothu parotta, and chicken dum biryani. Took 15 mins to order, 20 for the first set, another 10 for the second, and 10 more for the third to arrrive. The taste? Fantastic! Kothu parotta stole the show. Portions were huge. Next time, I might go for their Kerala specials like aapam and pothi soru, maybe opting for delivery.

A cute small joints recommended only for family. They don't have seating if you plan to go in group. Food is nice with lot of options from appetizer to dosa and biryani. Serving size is great and they are not pricy a very good option to go when you crave on Indian food and don't want to pay too much.Service was little slow guess their are less people inside and only 1 person who was taking order and serving and cleaning table. Will may be order in again for trying the appetizers and biryani.

If you are looking for the next breakthrough Indian restaurant it's KGF. My friend and I sampled authentic Indian dishes spanning pan Indian cuisines - from mouth watering South Indian dosas to Bengali fish to more traditional (in the US) North Indian fares. Every single dish we had over 3 different visits was absolutely delicious.KGF manages to deliver authentic flavors thanks to 3 different chefs who prepare food based on their individual expertise in various regional cuisines. They also pay attention to using fresh ingredients and don't take short cuts.Service was cheerful and excellent. The head chef stopped by and asked for feedback. On a subsequent visit I was pleased to see that the feedback had been actually implemented! Just one gotcha. The restaurant is obscured and next to Sante Fe Mexican Grill. We literally found it thanks to Yelp as signage is still pending regulatory approval from the City of Kirkland per the company staff at KGF I highly recommend KGF - go check out this little

Yelp always shows you suggestions when a new business starts near you area. I bookmarked this place when the suggestion was shown to me. It's a new Indian restaurant in Kirkland area. There was another restaurant at the same place prior to Covid and that was shut down. They are trying to restart this place under a new name!Location - it's part of a small shopping center. Ample parking. There are other eateries near by. Its a small place with a good number of tables. Ambiance is very casual. Just a reminder, when I dined in this place was around 20 days into their business and a lot of work is in progress. Food & options - Menu looks fabulous! Biriyanis, Dosas, Appetizers, Curries, Specials, Tandoor items, rolls, breads and desserts on the offering. We tried the chicken 65, butter naan, paneer tikka masala and chicken kothu paratta. Rice comes along with the curry. You have an option to customize the spice level as well.Preparation time was not significant. Served the appetizer first then rest followed. Coming to the food, the appetizer was really delicious. It had all the nice flavors I was hoping for. Loved that one. Naan was soft and fresh; nice combination with Paneer tikka masala. Must mention about that the curry is made with the "paneer tikka" which was on the grill unlike most of the other Indian places. It definitely added a great flavor to the curry as well. It's creamy, but not very sweet which I really enjoyed. Kothu Paratta was decent - we experimented with spice level of that one and it was a little too spicy for us. That's totally on us. The flavors were great for that too.Portion of the food is decent I would say. It's a not pricey either. Their menu looks promising. If they can deliver this quality on a consistent basis in that price range, I don't see a reason for people to love this place! One thing I wanted to point out that their tables are way too small. For a party of 4, that's not enough. The table will be crowded with the food, plate and glasses. That's something they should really consider upgrading! While we were there, there was only one staff who was handling the front desk, orders and serving! They need more helping hands when at least 5 tables are occupied! But a nice experience nevertheless! Food is great! Probably I have recommended this place to many even before writing this. Try it out, if you like Indian food!

This restaurant is in a great location and has ample parking in the strip mall. The restaurant staff were super friendly and welcoming. We asked them about their biryanis and dosas and they made good recommendations. The KGF special dosa is what we went for. I love experimental recipes and I definitely enjoyed the special dosa. Purists like my wife probably wouldn't enjoy that kind of dosa as much. For instance the dosa had a delicious stuffing and also had arugula leaves in it. Which I enjoyed. Their chutneys were a hit or miss but the sambar was commendable. The ambience is cozy and small so you may want to do a take out or delivery for large parties and such. Average of $20 ish per person.

Very clean and newly opened Indian restaurant. We sat down for lunch and everything came out piping hot (which we aren't use to since we usually get takeout Indian food) We had a few things in mind to try: dosa, chicken 65, biryani, and garlic naan. Chilli chicken 5/5 - Fried good, and the sauce was very flavorful. Portion could be a little bit bigger but their prices are average. Masala dosa 4/5 - Was kind of hoping it was less filling (I like the crispy crepe) but I guess would have to go to an actual dosa soap. I didn't like their coconut chutney, didn't taste that flavorful. Chicken 65 biryani 4/5 - lots of cardamom in it, which might throw some people off. The flavor was better the next day (maybe was too full at that point to enjoy it) Would definitely come back for this. I enjoy the chicken 65 having lots of sauce on it. Garlic Naan 5/5 - SO GOOD. Must tryPaneer tikka masala 5/5 - Your average paneer tikka masala, big portion. Could definitely be split into 3 meals minimum. Can't wait to come back to try more items! or honestly, get the same thing :)

This review is based solely on my takeout experience, will update whenever I do dine in :)This is a new Indian restaurant close to me so I decided to check them out. I called to place my order and they said it will be about half an hour. When I got there, I had to wait an extra 20 minutes. They weren't busy so not sure why it took so long. I ordered:Tandoori chicken $14.99 - the meat was tender but not much flavor.Garlic naan $3.49 chewy and not as soft as I wanted and the garlic flavor was non existent. The price is pretty good for what you get, however the quality is lacking a bit. Also, I'm not sure if the guy felt sorry that I waited so long that he asked if I wanted rice with my tandoori chicken or it actually came with rice, but I opt out of it.Overall, maybe I'll try it again in a few months to see if it improved but for now, it's standard

tl;dr....good food, average ambiance, very reasonable prices, menu is inspired by south Indian cuisines (tamilian and Malayali chefs)We stopped by on a weekend evening for a quick vegetarian dinner. We had a couple of appetizers, a couple of curries, kuttu Paratha and some naans.Gobi Manchurian was crispy and pretty nice. Kids loved paneer Chilli. Adults loved veg Chettinad curry and the kids loved Paneer Tikka Masala.Garlic Naans were very good ; tandoori rotis are among the best in the area.Seating is limited and can get busy during peak times. Ambiance is very average. They are very reasonably priced. Looks like their menu is inspired by south Indian cuisines (tamilian and Malayali chefs)For some reason...they don't have any sign boards yet & made it a bit hard to locate the exact place. Google maps was accurate though.Recommend this restaurant for their food.
