Just Passing Thru BBQ

Man these were some good ribs. Brisket was solid too but the ribs were off the charts. Nice couple cooking and serving it all up. Very small. Cozy place. And I love how you have to enter through an old bus. Did I say great ribs?

Damn good smoked meat at this little place. The best poultry you'll put on your lips in the tri-county area. That chicken...perfect brine and smoked flavor to the bone. Just perfection. Great job with the ribs, they are tender, Smokey and the right blend of salt and pepper. Brisket is good to, great bark and pretty tender as well. Hands down thE best bbq experience in the lake Houston and porter/new caney area. However you can't be good to great at evBiggest con were the sides. Green beans were waaaay over seasoned, baked beans too thick and sweet, Mac and cheese is made with real cheddar and penne. It along with potato salad they are just passing. Will be back to sample peach cobbler tomorrow.Pass up tin roof, spring creek, rusty buckle, truth, and anything else you've tried and get a big plate of the best meats here.

I was truly passing thru and the owner was just closing but he let me in and I'm grateful. I like the ribs the best. Tried the 3 meat plate with ribs sausage and brisket. Ribs was tender but I would have like more smoke flavor. The other two meats were dry and u will give him a pass because it was probably the end of the day meats that was left from the day. I will try them again the next time I'm in the area to see if this is normal or what was left from the day.

When I think of good southern BBQ I think of a place like this. You may pass this place up because it may not jump out to you passing down 1960 in Huffman but once you find it you will love it! First the staff was amazing nice. They have a actual bus where you can dine in at (yes a bus! full of character) Their ribs were really good ! I stole two from my hubby lol bc simply one wasn't enough they had a great smoke to them amazing w/o sauce on them. Their homemade sausage excellent never tasted anything like it before. Last but not least the brisket sandwich BEST I have ever had! It's definitely up there next to my grandfathers. yes ... you CAN (and should) eat the baked beans and potato salad.I literally wanted to lick all my to go containers... after my meal I wanted to take a nap in my truck before driving home the itis hit me plus sitting in those comfy chair had me stuck lol there wasn't a long line or wait, I'll be back for the smoked boudin ! I 100% recommend this place for good BBQ!!

Didn't know what to expect but whoa did this place blow my mind. First the people where nice and attentive and the place was clean.Walked in the door to two other customers bragging about the food and they were right.Brisket, Ribs, Sausage, Baked beans and the peach cobbler yes I tried it all. Everything was excellent and the price was right. Try it!

Best mac and cheese in town and the BBQ beans were excellent too! Great service and super friendly.

You MUST stop in here! Not only is it a cute atmosphere (you can sit on an outdoor bus!), but the food is simply a m a z i n g !!!When we stopped in, Rick greeted us and was absolutely fantastic! He was so friendly and he cooks it all up himself. We went on soul food Sunday and got the oxtail and ribs! He really loads upYour plate! It comes with two sides each. We ended up getting corn, candies yams, and cabbage. I can't even pick a favorite between them all because each was so so good!We had a peach cobbler too and it was delicious. We even ordered a blueberry cobbler half tray for after the holidays! Can't wait to try it.

First, the food was awesome! I had the 3 meat platter with sausage, brisket, and ribs. All had a great smoke ring and the smoke flavor was spot on. I had green beans for the side which was really good also. The owner was very nice and even showed me the smoke set up in the back of restaurant. Definitely a great find I found on Yelp. Will be back! Oh yeah...I almost forgot...the sweet tea was awesome also.

A visit for an early dinner five days after moving into the community. Had been wanting barbecue for awhile. Hub and I ordered baked potatoes with chopped beef, to go. It probably would have served us to perhaps order from home and maybe we would have had a freshly-baked potato, as it did not seem to take very long for our order. This lets me know the potatoes were already cooked. I did not care for the meat. It lacked something but my husband said it was okay with sauce, of which I did not partake. The server/owner said he added plenty of butter, but it could have used more. The potatoes were plenty large and hot, even after a short ride home. That's a good thing. Might try this place again and order something different. It is close to home.

Just a little hidden gem with a very kind owner and staff. The food was great! Highly recommend!
