Pure-blooded Chinese, here, and I can wholeheartedly say that Jumbo's one of the better restaurants in Boston's Chinatown. The food is especially delicious, with some unique dishes that you definitely won't find in any other place! Service and ambiance are just about the same as any other Chinese restaurant, which, if you don't know, is something we don't really pay to much attention towards. The Yu choy in supreme broth with garlic; you know, it was fine. Nothing to write home about. It honestly just tasted like any other vegetable dish; fibrous, leafy, but HOLY was it expensive! The stir fried silver fish, though, chef's kiss! Thin slivers of fried silver fish deliver concentrated seafoody flavors that just work extremely well with the fragrant, aromatic chives and vegetables. The jellyfish added a fun snappy texture that I personally enjoyed. Finally, the star of the show: that MASSIVE seafood coconut "paella." First off, that thing was DELICIOUS! Tons of seafood, from clams to shrimp, enveloped in a thick, coconut sauce that was almost like a gravy, all served with a generous portion of rice mixed with salted egg yolk. This could honestly feed 3 to 4 people! This is absolutely something you must order. While it's nothing like a paella, it works well as a seafood stew/curry that is just bursting with flavors from the sea. Also, for around $36 for that massive dish??? With all that seafood, too??? STEAL!!!

We came here expecting a greater selection of seafood such as scallops, oysters, lobster and such but we were disappointed to not find steamed oysters, scallops and the lobster tank looked empty. The service is abysmal. I had to flag someone to take our order and to pay. We order the fish fillet and tofu casserole and stir fried on-choy. The on-choy was fine. The casserole was on the salty side and the tofu was fried and deflated which suggests that it is old. The fish fillet is heavily battered which we would not have ordered if we had known. I was leaning towards not tipping him because he really didn't wait on our table but I didn't want to be hassled so I tipped meagerly at the risk of being harassed. I'm pretty sure they charge for tea even though you don't ask for it. Each bowl of rice is $2. The ambiance is fine but the food quality, inattentive service and lack of fresh seafood menu selections left me disappointed. You are much better off going to Gaga Seafood which is a block away. This was a regrettable miss for us.

Amazing food, but not very good service. We asked the waiter to help us take a group photo, we asked three times, he was right there collecting plates and putting on new dishes, but he pretend didn't heard us at all. It was very weird and kind of ruined our happy ambiance a little. We were there to have a good time, not taking attitude from a grumpy server. The food was absolutely delicious. But let's be honest, there are a lot of great Chinese food in this area, to stand out needs good dinning environment or good services. The environment is limited by being very popular, it was crowded and loud. But the service can be a little bit more friendlier. If he responded he's busy or even don't provide photo taking service is fine, but completely ignore customers is very impolite and embarrassing. The 4 stars are for the delicious food and other very busy but very kind kind servers. You can see in the photos all the dishes are absolutely scrumptious. I will go back to try it again, maybe during a time it's not too busy. Hopefully next time will be a better experience.

Came on a weekday dinner with some friends. Service was great! Food is good too! Everything was phenomenal. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for traditional Cantonese food.

Fun fact: Boston's Chinatown is the last standing Chinatown in New England! My parents love visiting Chinatowns when they're on vacation, so a trip to Boston wouldn't be complete without it.We stumbled upon Jumbo Seafood and thought they weren't open at first (hours incorrect on Yelp), but saw another party walk through! We got an assortment of dim sum. All tasty! The shrimp dumplings in particular were large and plump! Just a FYI: we tried to order chow fun and pea shoots but were told those items weren't available until 11am, so it seems in the early morning hours it's limited to the steamed and fried dim sum only. Service as expected at a Chinese restaurant: curt but got us what we wanted when asked. At $75 including tip for 4 people, this was a great value!

This restaurant is one of my favorite in town. I always go here after clubbing. But this time, as usual, we came at 2am, we ordered food, and one of my friends wanted to order more and the waiter , who is wearing the white shirt, told us the kitchen closed!!! However, later on, we saw another group came in, they still took their order!! What is the point here???

Food: Everything was truly DELICIOUS!Their seafood dishes were cooked to perfection, also their fried rice was also good (with chili sauce).Service: We had to ask for spoons to eat with the fried rice, but the food was really fast! Ambiance: Typical Chinese restaurant, so nothing fancy. But we all left content :)

my boyfriend and i stopped by this restaurant after our trip from NYC and we loved it! they serve dimsum up until they close (2am). we were so thankful it was open, and had food that we love. we ordered take out in person, and the food was ready in less than 10 minutes. they charge extra for take out. we were super satisfied with the shrimp rice roll and har gow (shrimp dumplings). jumbo seafood is truly a hidden gem. it's located right next to the chinatown gate. check it out! overall rating: 10/10

Service was absolutely horrible--probably the worst I've ever had. I've been to this restaurant multiple times before, but my experience has never been like this. I was overwhelmed by the food options so I asked the waiter (a skinny, balding, middle-aged Chinese man) what type of noodles they had. He raised his voice at me, aggressively pointed at the menu, and told me to read it instead of asking him, even though that's very much part of his job. We decided to only tip 10% because of his horrendous attitude, and he repeatedly demanded that we tip more even though we clearly expressed that it was due to him being rude. We eventually stood up and left, and will not be returning ever again. Extremely angry and disappointed, especially given the expensive price of the food.

They don't know how to cook. Out of All 4 dishes only 1 is okay. I'd not recommend this place.
